I spent the entire day driving them down to make sure they were protected. However, no one told me a booster was required. Nothing was printed, nothing was on the receipt, and nothing was said verbally even though I had their shelter vaccination records with me and presented them at check in. I even asked what other shots they needed. Nothing. I stumbled on this 2nd dose needed fact later. As a result, my dogs were under-protected for months on a high risk property, and now they have to be revaccinated as a start over. They were almost certainly exposed when protection mattered most and are now receiving additional doses afterward because of that gap. When I contacted the executive director of the Humane Association, he vaguely said the information had been "available," but could not explain where it had been provided or in what format. Instead of addressing the issue, the response shifted toward suggesting I was criticizing their mission to help animals. That misses the point entirely. If a clinic is going to administer vaccinations, owners should leave knowing exactly what boosters are required and when, especially when you present your records and ASK. Otherwise, they're not helping animals at all, rather are creating avoidable exposure risk and animals end up over vaccinated too. Given this experience, I would not feel comfortable using a veterinary practice connected with this clinic/vet again. I'm also not surprised to see other reviews mentioning confusion and disorganization.

He was very easy to work with, it was like talking to an old friend. He made us feel very secure and gave us peace of mind to go ahead with our travel plans. The folks who took care of our cats did a great job, everything was clean and tidy when we got home. Mail had been brought in. They left a sweet note about the cats. The price they charge is very reasonable and they just leave you a bill on the last day of the visit. The other thing we like is that if they do not hear from you that you are back, they will go ahead and keep coming to take care of your pets. This is great if you get stuck at an airport or have some other travel delay. We look forward to using Bloomington Pet Sitters whenever we travel. Great local business!

Like many, my pets are my family. Stacey provided the reassurance I needed, by replying to my messaging, and overall communications were excellent. When a kitty became ill, they administered medicine. And, in fact, even took one to the vet, with my coordination from afar. When food and kitty litter ran low, they shopped for the same brands, and just added it to my bill. I could not recommend them more. They have provided the peace of mind I needed so that I could go off and do what I needed to do. Kitties and I are together again, but I just wanted to write a short note of appreciation.

They quickly referred me to specialized treatment at Indyvet when he started losing weight and experiencing lethargy that didn't respond to treatment for infection, which was suggested by his blood work and fever. We discovered that he has a giant tumor conforming to the clinical picture of cancer, close to the aorta; this would require microsurgery. Dr. Pruitt was very thorough when explaining his prognosis. She was clear about treatment options, and understanding when I chose comfort measures. She continues to prescribe for him, and has me check in with her often about his status. I trust her and feel support from her and everyone who works at Combs. Dr. Pruitt has managed to prolong Bentley's life by nine weeks now. On some days, he still wants to take mile-long walks. He always wants to do his tricks and work his puzzles. Today, I sent Combs photos of what looks like a giant hematoma on his hind leg. I received a response immediately. Bentley is now at an emergency vet for diagnosis and treatment of this. I could not ask for more expertise or kindness than I have received. Combs has made this difficult situation bearable.

The bad - there is much to be said. While my regular visits were essentially uneventful and helpful, there were a few occasions where there were disagreements, and they ultimately decided that they no longer wanted me as a client, and initially tried to part ways with me just after my dog had his recent Cushing's test and needed meds ASAP. They refused to refill his meds due to some rather scathing reviews I left. While truthful, they were exceptionally harsh due to my frustration over the matter. I deleted them because it was clear they would rather let my dog suffer than to speak with me about the matter. After I deleted those, they sent in a 1 month refill to give me some time to find another vet. That is why this specific review will be commenting specifically on my own personal experience. Prescriptions - my dog required a drug called Trilostane. They pointed me to the online pharmacy they used, and it cost about $200 a month. That was far too expensive, and when I told them that, I was given a list of network pharmacies. I'm on disability, and that was much more than I can afford. They either did not offer it or offered it at a similar price. I asked for a copy of the prescription, and was told they do not do that. (Indiana law requires a vet to do this unless they have reason to believe a drug or prescription is being abused.) I had to scour the internet until I found a place that offered exactly what I needed for around $60 a month. They made sure this place had the proper credentials, and sent prescriptions and refills there. I have been able to locate another vet who is flexible in how prescriptions are handled. Customer service - in my experience, it's fine to a degree. If you are neurodivergent, I suggest you find another place. There were a few times where I questioned things, including when I needed to find a way to get an affordable prescription. There were several instances of being given information at the last minute. The final one being the day of his test. We had been communicating via text to set things up. At no point did anyone contact me to inform me that my dog must be up on his rabies shot for them to perform the test. I took him in, and at the last moment, before they were about to take him back, I was informed they would not do the test unless he had his rabies shot. That's about the way it was put. I've worked in customer service for quite a long time, and there are a LOT of ways to phrase things in a gentle way to make it a little less unpleasant. They did not do that. It was very harsh, and as a person with ADHD, I do not process that sort of information well when it's presented in such a way. I told them all of this after they informed me they no longer wished to work with me. At this point, it can be considered discrimination. It's very disappointing to experience what was (to me) an extraordinary lack of professionalism. Good customer service dictates that you always do your best to keep a client informed and up to date, and you communicate in a way that is friendly and non confrontational. That was not my experience unless I simply agreed with whatever they said. Other notes - They shop out notifications to a third party service, which is pretty common these days. I received at least one about a month after the service mentioned was due. They do offer customer service by text, which can be VERY handy. Most of the time they were on top of things. There were times when I'd text asking for an update and did not receive a reply unless I followed up later.

I am talking about the Northside clinic. I saw a lot of them were south side reviews. I was reading a lot of people had difficulty getting ahold of the vet. Whenever there has been concern about my dog, the doctor calls me directly. When I have left voice messages, the doctor calls me back promptly. At my first checkup, I spoke directly to a doctor. The only time I did not speak directly to a doctor was one time after a dental cleaning and histopathy, but that was because the doctor had gone into another surgery, and the nurse who talked to me answered all my questions and explained everything in such detail.
