I have been…read moretrying for a month and a half to post this review on Google, but they are censoring and refusing to post for reasons unknown. Please benefit from my hindsight and don't put yourself or your pet through what we went through. TW for pet death. My cat was 11.5 years old. He was never great about the litter box, even as a kitten. But in recent months, his bathroom habits had become concerning. He was wetting places he never would have, places he liked to nap, rest, etc. It was becoming too much to keep up with, and more importantly, I wanted to be sure this was just bad bathroom habits and that there wasn't an underlying cause, and that he wasn't in pain. So I made an appointment and brought him to Linton Veterinary Hospital. I explained the above to the doctor. The only way to describe his outlook on the situation was dismissive. To paraphrase, he said "Well, if he's been like this forever, it's just behavioral. There's nothing I can do about that. I'm not even going to run tests." He advised I could try anxiety meds, Feliway products, and the most hurtful suggestion, "Just lock him in the room with the litter box." I was there to try to improve my cat's quality of life, so that "advice" was particularly callous. My cat also had skin allergies and was itchy, with large spots of thinning fur. The doctor gave him a sterold-based injection for the allergies, and that was it. I left the office fighting back tears, because I felt like I had failed him. This was on a Tuesday. Wednesday night, he was a little sleepier than normal. I assumed he maybe wasn't feeling great from the shot. Thursday, I noticed he had barely moved at all. When I went to pick him up, he was limp like a ragdoll. The white inner eyelids cats have were half out, and he was completely out of it. I was panicked. We took him to another vet Friday morning. I explained all the above. They ran the tests that should have been run Tuesday, and the results were not good. They went through a couple options. The one that will haunt me forever was a medicine that they could try, but were hesitant to, because "it contains sterolds, and with the results of his tests, they did not want to put that into his system." My heart sank, because that's exactly what he was injected with by the man who wouldn't bother to run any tests first. They sent us home with antibiotics, and we spent all of Friday and all of Saturday trying to nurse him back to health. We used a dropper to help him drink water to try to keep him hydrated, and tried to give him some wet food broth. Everyone says that when your pet is near the end, they'll let you know it's time. By late Saturday, he could not even raise his head enough to drink from his favorite water dish, and was wetting himself where he laid. But he mustered the strength to put a paw on my thigh and look at me directly in the eyes, and my heart shattered. I knew. I called an emergency vet on Sunday morning, and explained all of the above. I couldn't allow him to suffer another day. So that Sunday morning, I had to say goodbye to my baby. The only roommate I've had or wanted for over a decade, who was with me through the unimaginable and back, is no longer in pain. But I miss him indescribably. I am not without blame. He was a sedentary, overweight indoor cat. I should have taken him in sooner. I should have walked out as soon as I had a bad feeling at this place, or advocated against the indifference of the vet. I will never forgive myself for allowing this to happen. I will always wonder how this could have been different if tests had been done that Tuesday instead of blindly administering sterolds to a geriatric animal. I share this in the hopes that I can spare even person from this level of grief, and one pet from suffering the way my poor baby did. If you have no choice but to go here, stand up for your pet. Say something if you're not listened to. Do better than I did. I'm so sorry, Mr. Biffles.

I agree with another reviewer that I felt nickel and dimed when they charged $10 to print out an existing prescription and I had to go back and pick up a physical copy because they won't work with outside pharmacies to call it in or take calls from the pharmacies. Maybe this is a new thing that vets are doing to make a few extra bucks, I never had this experience anywhere else. Also, they run a very tight ship. make sure you are on the dot for your appt...or you may get turned away.

They are helpful and responsive to any query or issue you may have (from true emergencies to the borderline neurotic concerns we all have as pet-parents). Dr. Tyson Medlock is particularly amazing. Dr. Medlock cared for my dogs (a 5lbs Yorkie and a 120lbs Great Dane) during the three years I lived in Bloomington. It may be cliché but I truly wish my GP showed as much concern about my wellbeing as Dr. Medlock does for his patients. He always provides the highest level of care during regular checkups, surgical consultations, and emergencies. While Dr. Medlock has helped me through a number of scary moments with my Great Dane (they tend to be clumsy and will eat anything left within their reach), I will be forever in his debt for the counseling and aid he provided while I was traveling with my horse-of-a-dog in Kentucky. I woke up one morning to my Dane showing all the signs of bloat and immediately took her to the nearest Veterinary Emergency room. Dr. Medlock worked with the emergency room doctor over the phone and took the time to counsel me through next steps. His ability to explain and advise on the best care for your pets is unparalleled. With his help, my Dane made it through those scary moments (which turned out to be a serious infection) and has been thriving ever since. In summation, Dr. Medlock and his team at Bloomington Veterinary Hospital provide the best veterinary care I have ever experienced during my many years of K-9 ownership. The fastest I could find was a vaccine clinic from the Monroe County Humane Association, where they received a first leptospirosis shot from Jim Koch whose business address is this clinic. I spent the entire day driving them down to make sure they were protected. However, no one told me a booster was required. Nothing was printed, nothing was on the receipt, and nothing was said verbally even though I had their shelter vaccination records with me and presented them at check in. I even asked what other shots they needed. Nothing. I stumbled on this 2nd dose needed fact later. As a result, my dogs were under-protected for months on a high risk property, and now they have to be revaccinated as a start over. They were almost certainly exposed when protection mattered most and are now receiving additional doses afterward because of that gap. When I contacted the executive director of the Humane Association, he vaguely said the information had been "available," but could not explain where it had been provided or in what format. Instead of addressing the issue, the response shifted toward suggesting I was criticizing their mission to help animals. That misses the point entirely. If a clinic is going to administer vaccinations, owners should leave knowing exactly what boosters are required and when, especially when you present your records and ASK. Otherwise, they're not helping animals at all, rather are creating avoidable exposure risk and animals end up over vaccinated too. Given this experience, I would not feel comfortable using a veterinary practice connected with this clinic/vet again. I'm also not surprised to see other reviews mentioning confusion and disorganization.

A blood test was performed- and there seemed to be a lack of care and attention to detail as he rushed to an analysis - where he confidently placed my dog on a thyroid medication, assuring us that was the only thing it could be. No additional blood tests nor anything more than a cursory glance was performed but instead, he was placed on thyroid medication without further investigation. Late last week, Taz returned with urgent concerns: he became lethargic early in that week and had also stopped eating. During the visit, the veterinarian checked his temperature, heart rate, and teeth, then concluded he was "fine." His condition was again attributed to age, and he was prescribed pain medication for a five-year-old injury and sent home. His condition did not improve overnight. The very next day, I took Taz to another veterinary clinic. Upon arrival, staff immediately recognized signs of serious illness at intake--his eyes and ear tips were yellow. Testing quickly confirmed end-stage liver failure, and imaging revealed a large tumor encasing his intestines, pressing on his kidneys and liver, and causing significant pain. With no viable treatment options, euthanasia was the only humane choice- when the day prior he was diagnosed as "fine" from the Bedford Veterinary Medical Clinic! I cannot help but believe that earlier diagnostic testing--either six months ago or a following visit- could have identified these issues sooner and potentially changed the outcome. Instead, repeated assumptions about age delayed critical care! Because of this experience, I will not recommend or return to this Clinic! My dog suffered & my family is now left brokenhearted with a bill for treatment that failed to provide care when answers were most needed. The surgeon scheduled me in between surgeries to get my dog the immediate attention he needed. I am not from IN and my vet at home has been caring for my pets my whole life, so I was very weary of a new vet. Everyone here is so helpful and thorough, and the vets explain everything in detail, and value my needs financially and as an owner. One vet tech had spent her lunch break spending time with my dog (of her own accord, I never asked her to) so that way he didn't have to be lonely. I highly recommend this vet to anyone looking for quality care. The staff truly care about your animals, and you can tell they just love being around them. I also looked at some negative reviews... I am talking about the Northside clinic. I saw a lot of them were south side reviews. I was reading a lot of people had difficulty getting ahold of the vet. Whenever there has been concern about my dog, the doctor calls me directly. When I have left voice messages, the doctor calls me back promptly. At my first checkup, I spoke directly to a doctor. The only time I did not speak directly to a doctor was one time after a dental cleaning and histopathy, but that was because the doctor had gone into another surgery, and the nurse who talked to me answered all my questions and explained everything in such detail.
