It was my first time going to a comic book store and I was impressed. They have single issue comics, comic books, Funko pops, manga, and figures as well. I picked up the latest issue of Dragon Ball Super and also got a Dragon Ball Energy drink, that tasted really good, as well as a Flashpoint comic book. My only complaint is that it seems that items there are sold for the price that is on the back of the book, which means you can probably find the same items cheaper on Amazon for instance. They do have a clearance/on sale section but I didn't really browse it. Overall, if you are looking for any comics, this place is the place for you. read more

Bedrock is the premier comic book location in the Houston area. They have six locations now and my youngest son wanted to visit all six for his birthday. We made it to five in two days. All of the locations are filled with comics, graphic novels and omnibus, toys and games and Funko Pops. The workers there are always friendly and willing to help you find what you're looking for, and if they don't have it there they will contact one of their other locations to see if they have it or maybe even order it for you if you'd like. My only complaint about their stores is it's kind like walking into a Barnes & Noble if you're looking for books, as in there is no discounts. So while I love to look at the books there (I collect graphic novels and omnibus) I don't usually buy from them because it's much cheaper to buy either through Amazon or through other comic book wholesalers who actually give you a significant discount. And while I love supporting the small business that bedrock is, I can't for my bank account sake pay $125 or $150 for a book that I could buy for $70-$80 through another comic book distributor. My son loves it because he collects the Lego mini figures and they have tons of them, and that's why we were there this week. But I did find a book and I did buy it because I love small business and I love Bedrock. If you collect comics you also love visiting any of the six Houston locations and I hope you will. read more

The staff is normally very helpful at this Bedrock City Comics location. They normally greet as you're walking in, but give you space to browse around without unnecessary interaction. They offer a large variaty of funkos and you can occasionally find a hidden gem or two that you might want. They keep the more limited selection behind the register so stop by and take a look if you don't see anything you like on the floor. Aside from the obvious shortage of Pokemon cards they usually have boosters packs for the Major TCG up front as well. The loose figures and toys are varied and reasonably priced. The back of the store is where the majority of comics are where you can see the bulk boxes with sorted older issues by publisher. Along the wall they also offer assorted publishers trade comics. Newer issues are on racks in the back wall and are usually restocked according to release. They also have a decent selection of D&D miniatures for tabletop gaming and a small selection of board games. Overall I'd recommend this shop to anyone in the area. read more

F*$%! this place. This is one of those rare instances where I wish I had the ability to give negative star reviews. Fortunately that is not the case so I'll have to elaborate here. To start, I've been a patron of this business for over 19 years. Throughout that time I've seen a number of managers and staff come and go. Still I'd go there to get my comic book fixed. However in recent years I begin to notice that the service if you will it's starting to come lackluster. There's been a number of times where my subscriptions have never been pulled within the long box I've had or I will wind up with other people's subscribed comic book titles. While I was willing to forgive this and overlook it it's become more and more frequent. That however is not the reason why I'm writing this review. Being a patient of COPD and adult asthma, I often find that I face discriminatory behaviors whilst in public, usually in the fact that I have to use nebulizer treatments out and about. Please keep in mind that I do not get to pick and choose how my disease will act but I can only be proactive in that I have to do nebulizer treatments whilst out and about. This was the case most recently whilst visiting bedrock City comics. Feeling need to use my medication via nebulizer I began to do so and was scolded by one of the staff members for "vaping" in the store. I tried to explain it this was not vaping, but a nebulizer only to be told that I could not do so. I find this to be discriminatory but also the last straw! I've since reached out to inquire about canceling my subscriptions with bedrock City as I find it ironic that they have a sign of the door that says "all are welcome"... Unless you happen to have lung disease. And with that I plan on looking into buying digital comics as I don't need the bad attitude or discrimination from a place I've been a patron of for nearly 20 years. If you're reading this, do yourself a favor and do the same to avoid the piss poor service and discrimination for having a disability. read more

This is my stop if I'm in the area I don't really like the location parking is high trafficked. Employees greet you they will get out and help you look for titles. Large selection of new issue titles and with limited variant cover options. Many different types of merchandise example toys apparel it keeps you interested in the many types of merchandise. Inventory is decently organized and easier to sift through. Carries a mid amount of all eras sometimes to much for my own good I get in trouble here. Pricing is on just a little bit higher than other shops ive experience but if your looking for a certain copy you wont notice the price again makes us get in more trouble read more

Ok, I haven't been to many comic book locations here in houston but of the few that I've been to this location is my favorite. The staff is crazy knowledgeable and friendly. The store has a great selection and it's by half price books (so you can get your extra Geek on) If you have a loved one that's into comics or anything scifi and you are looking for something, and know not what to get. It's a great comic shop. The staff is very friendly and some are willing to talk comics ad nausem (that's good for me). They are also very knowledgeable of the lesser known stuff and quick to point you in a direction of something they think you might like based on what you currently read. They have everything you need and can find back issues relatively easily. My only real gripe is that you only get a 10% discount with their box service. I know it's a buisness, but I think they are hurting themselves when so many websites offer twice that easily. Whatever, I'll be there Wednesday. read more

My son is just getting into super hero's and what better way than to help him out than to bring him in here. You should see the way his eyes light up and how excited he is...it's like a little piece of heaven for him. Always encourage your child's imagination it really opens doors. The prices are a little above average but my son works extra hard for whatever he wants (and he's only 7 is their labor laws regarding this lol). The other day I bought a Wonder Woman shirt which I can no longer sleep without and I am sure I will come across the red boots soon enough and get into character... I come here about once a week to check out the new Marvel releases. I love that I can find old and new comics, as well as obscure comics that are less popular. The guys that work there are friendly and very helpful. They have other comic/nerd memorabilia from t-shirts, to collectibles and posters. Don't get me wrong, I love this store. They have a huge selection of comics and novelty items. BUT they are crazy expensive. I am used to paying around $1.50 for backissue comic's (sometimes even less than that because most stores have them on sale) and they charge $3.25 ( which wouldn't be a huge deal but it really adds up, especially when you fall behind or are getting into a new series). Another issue I had was when I went to check out the man behind the counter asked me if I wanted the cardboard backing and plastic bags for my new comics that didn't have them (and of course I said yes because I want to keep my comic's in good shape) but he didn't mention that it was an additional 25cents per bag. On top of it all he didn't even have the common courtesy to put the comic's in the cardboard bags for me, he just threw them in with the rest of my stuff. From now on I am just going to use them as a last resort when no other store has what I need. read more
