I appreciate that they offer later hours on weeknights, and they ALWAYS fit us in, even if it's close to closing time. That's usually when our dog seems to have issues, too, when our usual vet is already closed. No matter who we have seen--or at what time--we have received exceptional care at NMAH. So far, we've seen Dr. David James, Dr. Paul Kritzinger, Dr. Schaff (now retired), Dr. Kimberly Renehan, Dr. Rachel Spickler, Dr. Katie Blackard, and Dr. Anna Shaffer. The doctors are extremely thorough, and we always leave feeling like JoJo has been well cared for. They are also great about emailing us visit summaries and aftercare instructions, and they share details of our visits with our usual vet to ensure communication of her treatment plans. Even NMAH's technicians and front desk staff are wonderful. Everyone is just so warm and compassionate, and they understand the urgency of our situations. We highly recommend NMAH!

I have been to 3 so far; the first two were nice, but didnt particularly stand out. Fortunately, Dr Holland did at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. I have brought in 2 of my cats so far, and each time Dr Holland has been great with them, and has researched info on medications and options with specialists both for my cats with FIP and with eye issues; both visits, he was understanding about pricing concerns and gave options that I felt were fair and helpful, including thorough emails with additional info and follow up. The office is impeccably clean and the staff very kind. I have passed his info on to the rest of the family, and finally feel that we've found our new vet.

I cannot say enough good things about Catering to Cats and Dogs and the people behind it…read more They are a volunteer-run rescue that works incredibly hard, often quietly and without recognition, in a world that can be unbelievably cruel to animals. My foster pit was with them about 12 years ago, and even then I saw the depth of their commitment, compassion, and integrity. Years later, nothing has changed except that the need has grown and they continue to show up anyway. They do far more than just place animals. They advocate, problem-solve, network, fundraise, transport, foster, and emotionally carry cases that most people would walk away from. They step in when animals are overlooked, misunderstood, or discarded, and they do it with care, patience, and respect for both the animals and the humans involved. Rescue work is exhausting, thankless, and often met with criticism rather than support. Catering to Cats and Dogs continues to do it because they genuinely care, even when it is hard, even when it hurts, and even when the outcomes are uncertain. They are exactly the kind of rescue this world needs more of. I will always be grateful for the role they played in my foster's life, and I deeply respect the volunteers who continue to give so much of themselves to help animals who have already been failed by humans.

DO NOT BOARD AT LUCKY DOG! The dogs are most definitely not lucky when they're here…read more Our two dogs have come home covered in pee multiple times. When we dug further into it we found out they were NOT caring for our dogs. They have only 2 handlers for upwards of 100 dogs. One of our dogs came home with a huge gash on his face and they didn't catch it, or report it to us. They come home anxious every boarding visit. When we dug further we found out that one of our dogs was so anxious she was chewing on a cot (she doesn't chew things at home, or any other boarding place we've ever used.) Instead of telling us, they just made a note in their system that she doesn't get a cot... We asked them to kennel together and so both of our dogs were sleeping on cold hard tile floor for their entire stays, sometimes as long as a week or two when we've taken longer trips. Instead of taking any responsibility for any of this they blamed our dogs. Their manager confirmed to me they don't require handlers have ANY certifications or qualifications. I asked for a GM or assistant GM to get in touch with me about whether they even do background checks and they are ignoring us. Lucky Dog used to be great when they were family owned. Roughly around 2022 they were bought out by a corporation called Village Pet and it's clear they are trying to suck as much profit out of the business while they can. They've raised their rates and cut down on the staff. In NC handlers can only have 10 dogs out per handler so your pets are NOT getting as much attention or outside time as they should be. This place is the worst. We have 4 friends that also used Lucky Dog and after hearing what was happening they're also finding another boarding place. We'll be telling anyone who will listen to ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE.

Even though I didn't want to leave him ( I was being selfish) I knew he would be in good hands! I called twice to check on him and both times I was directed right to someone to speak with! The first time was the tech Jen, who was great and the second time was Dr. Warren! I love walking in and they know exactly who I am and who my pets are! It's such a nice feeling! I highly recommend Lakecross if you are looking for a vet!

The practice administrator is toxic. Gaslighting and blaming me for looking after my best friend and wanting answers about his tumors/cancer and stating "it was an easy fix if you'd let us" after telling me they would deny future services. That's fine, I don't want to know what it would have cost just to get to the $1600 quote to remove a tumor on his tail. This is not the establishment it used to be. They have completely lost their way. They will charge you through the nose for every little thing, not give you feedback or consultation and scare you over unrelated issues just to charge for more procedures. They aren't the same, all the good vets left.

100% 5+ star review for Banfield-Cornelius!!…read more We'd been customers/patients of Banfield for 20 years, with multiple pets; most recent location for 10 years exclusively. We'd followed a beloved vet from one location to a new stand-alone. However, she left that location unbeknownst to us. We stayed on board there, but realized over time the care just wasn't the same. We were ready to sever our connection with Banfield once current wellness plans ended. Fast forward to last week and today. One of our pups had her routine dental last week, and then a week to date swelled up like a puffer fish. I called our usual location thinking that since they'd done her dental, they'd want to see her for reaction. Only, they offered for us to drop her off or to call another location. We were absolutely not interested in dropping her off given the acute situation. Perturbed and concerned, I called another location equal distance from our home. That's when we became acquainted with Dr. Vasquez and the wonderful techs at Banfield-Cornelius (Jennifer this morning!). They saw her Wednesday and assumed/treated for what presented as a possible bee sting. But, the site continued to grow to an alarming point, prompting me to call first thing this morning. Jennifer heard the fear and concern in my voice and said "bring her in now". Dr Vasquez and the team were absolutely amazing with us and our girl. A massive abscess did in fact form on her neck. Aggressive treatment plan, but we left with hope. Even though our appreciation was expressed directly, I cannot share enough with the world how wonderful and caring this staff is, especially when having first hand comparison with another location. We are now forever Banfield-Cornelius customer/patients. Their level of care and concern is unmatched. Thank you just isn't enough .

I took my dog in Thursday Jan 8th with a leg issue and was given Rimadyl 75mg I told the nurse whose name was Katie tht I had Rimadyl at home from his November visit and she looked it up and told me tht what I have at home was 25mg and that he needs to take a whole pill and a half.... He started panting and shaking-shivering Saturday and I called and was told to just monitor him last night I had to rush him to a urgent vet because he was shaking-shivering and panting really bad and making a crying noise..... the Dr at the Urgent Vet let me know tht the dosage given was too high and she examined him and he had neck pain which she believes could have been done the same day his leg issue happened so they gave him a sedative and muscle relaxers.... So today I called my Banfield location to speak with a Dr and was told she was busy at the moment but would call me today/tomorrow, I asked the nurse why would I be given such a high dosage for my dog she said she doesn't know but tht he should have been given 1/3 of the 75mg.... I said 1/3 would be 25mg and thts what I told the nurse I had at home she said she will have the Dr call me with answers I asked her to ask the Dr what are some side effects due to him given high dosage she said she was unsure but the Dr will be able to answer.... This is totally unacceptable because if a full body exam was done Thursday when I bought him in the neck issue would have been addressed I will never use you guys ever again and I have been with you all for 8 whole years!!!!! I only gave a stat because zero stars was not an option
