They have items such as: antique and vintage lighting, hardware, furniture, miscellaneous architectural fixtures, and so much more. And lots of these items come from local homes and buildings, so you are helping "recycle the past" as they like to say. While moseying around the shop, I inquired about a couple of light fixtures that were out of reach and they were very friendly and helpful when following up with questions. It was not difficult to find someone to assist me at all. The prices are at a premium here because you are finding unique items that are in excellent condition and often times hard to find. I found a 8pc set of drawer pulls that I was hunting for an antique dresser for years. Patience and luck came together for me at Old Portland Hardware. Looking forward to my next visit!

Smaller items and accessories were my favorite on this trip.

In my defense, theynshare the space with Little Rituals and their sign on the same door has two wine glasses! Whatever brought me in, I'm grateful. This store is fabulous. As a person who already has too many plants, this is it's also dangerous. You fellow plant lovers know what I mean, we always think we can find a spot for another! But it's not just about floor or shelf space, it's about proper lighting. They have all sorts of plants like monstera, fiddle leaf fig and palms. Snake plants, pathos, cactus and succulents. Yep, I'm in trouble! In addition to the plants, they have everything for their care and to display them like metal hanging plant holders, macrame plant holders, and pots in a variety of styles and sizes. Also lots of lotions, bath salts and oils. Such a cute shop and worth stopping in.

I was looking for some a unique gift for my daughters 24th birthday and thought this was the perfect shop to find something unique. I bought my daughter this an affirmation card deck. After she gets settled in her new place, I will bring her here to pick out a plant. And while I was there and I chatted with Vanessa and Cassie and loved hearing about their story I have how this brick and mortar shop came to be. Oliver was there too and we had a nice conversation about his dog Hankey. :) They currently co-share a brick + mortar shop with Little Rituals. There you can find our plants, propagation stations, planters/vases, soil, tools, potting tarps and so much more. Variegated Vines believes there is a plant out there for everyone and we want to be the ones to help you find it! (Copied from their website). I recently learned that they offer in-person crafting classes at this location. I went to the activity last month and while the normal teacher wasn't there, it was a very enjoyable experience. When the activity was posted for this month, I was very excited to attend and meet the normal instructor. The class was from 3:00 to 5:00 and was listed as make this craft for free during this session. I arrived at 2:55 and the instruction for how to sew the project had already been delivered despite the fact that people were showing up for the 3:00 start time. Also the supplies were not provided but the most frustrating part was we weren't even going to make the craft. Everybody was disappointed and the store said everyone who showed up must have misunderstood what was clearly posted differently on their website. It felt like a bait and switch which was disappointing for a company that I had valued so much in the past. The selection in the store is great, but I was left with a sour taste in my mouth from the community crafting class that did not involve any crafting or community. The instructor said all of the information was online so I'm not sure why we even came to the store in the first place.

We got all locally sourced and seasonal flowers for our September wedding. They were so communicative and easy to work with. Day before the wedding there was an issue with the cake bakery changing the plans for the cake flowers. Mary who was working at the shop offered to drop off the flowers to the bakery on our behalf which was great! Then with more back and forth Kailla and I chatted and she just offered to do it onsite at our venue so the flowers would stay fresh. She went above and beyond as this change by the bakery the day before the wedding was stressful. We will continue to use Sellwood for our floral needs. I mean look how gorgeous My bridal bouquet is! In fact I told my husband that on our anniversary I want another bouquet from Sellwood.
