Great unique menu, awesome food, large servings, at a great price. My wife mentioned that we should stop at the Bee Hive Brew Pub, and I mentioned that I only thought they had beer. Boy was I wrong. They have a great menu with lots of unique food combinations and selections. I ordered the quesadilla appetizer with chicken. It was filled with lots of items(black olives, jalapeños, and a ton of cheese), and was hot and delicious. I was thinking of trying the crab cake appetizer as a meal, but guess what? They have a crab cake grilled cheese. All the best of both worlds. Bread was toasted perfectly and was crispy and light at the same time. Service was great as the server greeted me promptly, and took my order right a way. Checked back on me numerous times to see if I needed anything. I took the pictures after eating half meal, so sorry in advance. Couldn't wait. Atmosphere is like a bar/restaurant with a good selection of bar stools and tables to seat at. The server was great. Very attentive and friendly. She receives a 5 star. The food on the other hand was terrible. It was less than fresh. The broiled fish was dry as cardboard. The goulash was literally noodles with the meat sauce that they put on their garbage plate just dumped on the top. The French fries tasted like the fried fish and were obviously cooked in old grease. We found this place during a day trip in the Finger Lakes region. The restaurant is situated on a quaint little street surrounded by other small restaurants and shops. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. There is both indoor and outdoor patio seating available, weather pending of course. There was ample space on the patio to not be too close to others dining at the restaurant. Customer service was excellent. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and acknowledged by a member of the waitstaff. We were seated outside shortly thereafter. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We weren't waiting too long before our meals were served. I ordered the chicken fingers with a side of fries. They tossed half the fingers in a mango habanero sauce and the other half in a honey garlic sauce. I liked the flavor of the mango habanero best. There were many options on the menu and everyone at the table was satisfied with their order. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. read more

This pub share the same Building as the Peacemaker brewery. The pub is split into 2 areas: large wraparound bar and dinning area. There are also outdoor seating available. We came here as party of 7 on a sunday afternoon and were seated promptly. We were the only patrons in the dinning area. They have a large selection of beer and the food menu has basic pub type of food. We had the burgers, crab cake sandwich, Cesar salad, vicky's wrap, and hoagie. The portion is not big, but price is also reasonable. It hit the spot for us. It's a great place to grab a quick bit... Be sure to go next door to the Peacemaker brewery. read more

Inside an old train station so that's what first attracted our attention. Really friendly staff, we immediately felt welcome. Large selection of craft beers, ciders and kombuchas. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant. In fact, their meals are fabulous! A couple of problems though...I almost laughed when I paid $3.75 for a glass of diet Pepsi and saw you could only get 1 REFILL. Who does that? Also, I know other restaurants add a surcharge for paying with a credit card as does this one. When you pay $16 for a tuna fish sandwich, don't you think that's enough to absorb whatever the credit card companies charge the business? In fact, isn't that a cost of doing business? We walked into an empty restaurant today at 12:45 pm. Could it be that this fabulous restaurant was empty because of these policies? Their competitor across the street is always packed with no BS. The food here was amazing! I had the fish tacos with blackened mahi mahi, and I truly think they were probably some of the best things I had on vacation. The fish was flavorful and thick, and they had this house made sauce on there that I would highly recommend - so delicious and spicy. The only thing that was a little frustrating was the fact that we waited so long. There were only two girls working, but on the other hand, there were hardly any people there on a Saturday afternoon. Stopped on the way home from a long day touring the lakes and wineries. Our waitress was the only waitress fully trained and was doing the best she could do, while also training another waitress. Unfortunately the bar manager was the runner for the orders, while apologizing for the delays. Personally, I would've utilized the waitress in training to run the orders and deliver beer, so she could better interface with customers. Overall, beer was cold, food was hot and they're doing the best they can do, based on a shortage of hiring. read more

Something happened to this place, use to be good food, good service and good drinks. We went after the Christmas parade and it was a painful disaster. We waited an hour for our food after we ordered. After the food started arriving the server apologized and said there was only one cook in the kitchen. We get that staffing is hard these days, but we should have been told upfront or the place should have planned better for it, such as a limited menu or not seating people. We won't go back, even if they say they straighten it out. It is painful to be held captive. read more

We came to Bee Hive on Saturday night for a drink after dinner as it was one of the few places in the Canandaigua downtown area that was open past 10pm. When we walked in, it was pretty empty. There were only two other parties there so we were easily able to get a table. It was a standard bar, nothing special. I was surprised that they had some pretty good beers on tap. Our bartender was a bit rude to us and seemed a little impatient when we were deciding on what we wanted to order. It was also really hard to get his attention if we wanted to order something else or close out. The bar has a dart board and jukebox so if you're looking for somewhere to hang out this could be an OK place to go. I don't think I'll go back, though. read more

Stopped at this place because the restaurant across the street was packed.... should have known that no crowd was a bad sign. The inside is run down, and fairly untidy. Saw some fruit flies as i sipped my beer (we sat at the bar) The food was slow to come out, and the wait staff had zero idea where each dish went and resorted to yelling the item in hopes that someone would speak up... our food came out and the woman said "does this look familiar?" Because nobody had any assignments. I should also mention that the food took FOREVER to come out. Seriously, they were not busy so 25-30 minutes for food is ridiculous. Now the food... That was the worst part. I ordered a mushroom swiss and onion burger cooked medium. This thing was clearly a frozen patty cooked from frozen because it was very i consistently cooked. 85% was a dried up piece of garbage and a few spots were squishy gray. It looked like they were going for a buttered & grilled bun, but it was so hard that i hard to work hard just to bite through it. After a hike in Naples, my mom and I made our way to Canandaigua to grab lunch. The main stipulation was that we wanted a place with a patio and beehive was the winning spot. The bar/restaurant is located next to Twisted Rail brewery. The bar is big and would be where I'd prefer to spend my visits. The restaurant is good for a family dinner or group outing. We loved the patio, which was filled with sunshine the day of our visit. Most of the tables had umbrellas too which was good for me -- I moved in and out of the sun every 10 minutes. #fairskinproblems I started with the Bee Hoppy pint - $6.75 - brewed by CB Brewing Co. It was the perfect beer for the 75 degree day -- just hoppy enough, with a nice floral finish to balance it out and not too strong either. I started with a Caesar salad since I've been on a kick lately. The dressing was awesome -- assuming it's a homemade creamy dressing. Then, I had to have their Mac and cheese. It rotates daily... Gotta go back for more! You can get a side portion or a bowl (as seen by the photo it was a lot). Leftovers for both me and Willy to share. The Mac and cheese offered that day was buffalo chicken - they use their standard creamy cheddar sauce to coat the capellini noodles and mixed in diced buffalo chicken and bleu cheese crumbles. It was just enough heat and the a savory cheddar sauce - very well-balanced flavors. I can't wait to try their other options. If you're making a trek to C-lake, this is a great stop on the way. More people should be coming here - the daily specials are extensive, and I've never lacked for an interesting choice (vegetarian who eats seafood too!) Last night's Shrimp Wrap with BoomBoom sauce (love that stuff!) was actually part of the lunch options, but Julia made sure that two of us got to try it. One of my favorites is Buffalo Artichoke Hearts - enough for two meals. Exceptional tater tots, and plenty of craft beers to choose from! Our friends enjoyed the Cajun Steak quesadilla, and the California chicken sandwich... Every time I go, they accommodate my requests (not always the case in this town), and I appreciate that they make the effort. Like every other service industry, they have staffing issues, so sometimes it does create longer wait times. Having been a waitress for years, I get it ~ not a fun job sometimes, and the hours? Julia was bartending AND serving; we were there at a slow time so no problems with getting our food in a timely manner - but sometimes they get slammed. My husband and I boat on the Lake but have never eaten here until a couple of weeks ago. And since then we've been back twice! They have outdoor seating allowing for space and enjoyment of the outdoors. The food is very good and pretty reasonably priced. We ordered pizza both times as well as Mac and cheese and house made chips. Our dining companions ordered other food items and declared them equally delicious. They have ample yummy beers to wash down your food and they too are reasonably priced. My husband and I shared a pizza and each had two beers-our bill was about $25.00. Unfortunately they don't have specific Vegan items on the menu but since I find this to be the case in may restaurants I go to I was able to piece together a great meal nonetheless. And the waitresses were very accommodating. We will definitely continue to come back to Bee Hive Brew Pub to enjoy more beer and food. read more

Went here for dinner before a concert. We came at 6pm because we thought that'd be enough time to eat and get to CMAC. We were there almost two hours. The service was quite slow. It appeared that our server had tables inside and outside so she was all over the place. We needed to ask for our check so we could leave. My boyfriend and I tried the crab cakes; mine had shell or plastic in it. I got the Carolynn Salad for dinner. It was served with avocado but it seemed out of place on the salad. It has been a while since our last visit & again I was not disappointed. We had appetizers while we had a couple cocktails. First of all I had the Lemoncello Martini that was absolutely fabulous. We shared egg roll specials which were different & very tasty. The highlight of the appetizers was the Buffalo artichoke French. So lightly breaded, looked hand tossed with lovely dipping sauce. It comes with a you pick wing sauce lightly drizzled over the French. Our choice was mango habanero. Fabulous. We will be back again for that soon. Got our main dishes to go, again very very good. Last but not least Randy our server was very efficient & looks like he enjoys his work. Thanks to the BeeHive for a wonderful respite from our crazy Covid world. Visited this establishment last Sunday late afternoon July 5th. Service was below average by poorly trained wait staff. Also not seemingly clean - at, least our indoor table area. Had the turkey Reuben which was sub-mediocre at best. Barely any thousand islands or sauerkraut. How this was missed is a little perplexing. Could have requested more as we hardly saw the young sunburned waitress again. My guest had the Worker Bee plate which was similar to a modified garbage plate except much less impressive. Suggest avoiding both menu item unless you enjoy Taster tots and French fries frozen, soggy and tasteless. Took about 45 minutes to receive our order when it looked like only 3 or 4 tables had guests. Never asked us if we wanted coffee , another cocktail, water or dessert?? All very strange and disappointing especially when these establishments have had 3 months to regroup and find a better way to promote, appreciate and retain patronage. Sometimes you're still better off cooking at home and avoiding the mask, the distancing and threat of becoming severely ill-- or wasting your hard earned money! Anyway, I hope they improve and in spite of this experience wish them well. However, we will not be back until they figure it out. read more

Went for lunch to see if we thought they had the BEST HAMBURGER in the Finger Lakes. When we got there on a Thursday around 12:30, there was only one other table....within the half hour, the entire outdoor seating area was full and only one waiter. So service wasn't great. I ordered a beer, that came back half full due to the keg had to be changed. The sad thing, this never happened and they brought me a small glass of Bells and not the beer (Climbing Bines) I had ordered...which was awesome and I get Bells all the time :-/ I ordered the seafood bisque and side salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing. The Bisque was very good. Enough seafood, not too thick, and not too many potatoes. The blue cheese dressing was a disappointment. But the reason we had come was to try their Burger. Ordered the "Standard Burger" which is 8 0z, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, 1000 Island; pickle spear and homemade potato chips. I thought this one was the best of the 3 we had this week, so it gets my vote for the "Best Burger" in the Finger Lakes. My husband ranked this a very close, but nevertheless 2nd place (Glen Pines in Cayuga Lake is first place.) The homemade chips, in his opinion were perfect -- tasty, and crispy. My original order of a gyro that was on special was not available anymore. Not a big deal. I ordered wings instead and was told those would take longer for whatever reason. Not a deal breaker for me. The food was good, including my wings. The service was good as well - friendly staff. The only thing I would say is the wait. We were greeted and offered the seat of our choice when we arrived. Our server offered drinks and we selected an orange wheat craft brewed beer that was ice cold, fresh and crisp with a citrus note. I had a Hoppy Burger with Jalapenos and Beer Cheese. The burger was cooked medium as ordered servved on a fresh soft Kaiser roll and the peppers and cheese had a great combination of heat and rich creamy sharp cheddar flavor. For sides I had coleslaw and fresh potato chips. The coleslaw was well chilled and creamy with a touch of vinegar. The chips were crispy warm and lightly salted. This was our first time in! We sat outside, there was a lot of seating available inside and outside which was great. Theres also a bar with seating inside as well. Pretty laid back atmosphere, The type of place you can wear anything too and feel comfortable with what you have on. They have a hugeeee selection of beers, along with some fun specialty cocktails! I ordered a chicken sandwich that was on the specials of the day with house made chips (man were they good) and my boyfriend ordered the steak bomber with fries and a side of gravy. Because who doesn't love to dip their fries in gravy?We were both pleased with our food and each bite was delicious. I loved that they had so many options for their specials of the day! You don't see that too often at places anymore. We went during the day, on a weekday so it wasn't very busy, not sure how it is on nights or weekends. This "pub" has the most bizarre set-up of any bar or restaurant I've ever been to. 4 entrances, some locked, no general direction as to where the actual entrance is. Once in, there's a dirty and awkward lobby area where it appears to be an office building during the day. Dart board is next to another entrance (dangerous). Ordered an IPA and the Irish eggrolls. IPA would've been better in a clean glass, and the eggrolls were obviously frozen not fresh, greasy, and burnt served with a spoiled thousand island dressing. If I were to order more or get another drink I'd have to get up from my table and walk to the bar. Service is none, at least in the room I sat where not even a busser is present. read more

The first time we went it didn't start off great. We tried to open the door and it's locked and then we walked into Peacemaker thinking maybe we could get in around when we realized we couldn't we stepped back outside and tried again at their door, then we asked some guys outside and they told us yeah they'd just came out. We knocked and someone unlocked it. Walking in was confusing because it didn't clearly seem like either a wait to be seated or seated yourself and no one addressed us so we walked all the way past the bar and check out and saw quite a few empty tables. I asked a middle aged female employee whether it was a seat yourself or wait to be seated (hadn't even attempted to sit down). She was pretty rude in responding it was a wait to be seated establishment. I didn't care but we stood awkwardly for three minutes before we were escorted to the same table I had been about to sit at if she responded differently. Our drinks were okay and the food was good but nothing really stood out and I felt they had a little too much on their menu. Or at least for the size of the menu it should have been formatted better. They seemed to have at least 12-15 appetizers that took up half a page. Service was fast and our food was fresh. It's not the best brewery I've been to in the area but it's nice enough as it's a short walk from our home. Stars taken off for more ambiance and wonkiness of set-up along with just okay service and good food. I'd say my review is closer to 3.5 than just 3 stars. read more
