I don't care how good they are, the service was awful. I'm seated and she comes over right away to give me a menu. She comes back maybe three minutes later, and I wasn't ready to order yet. So she leaves. They were busy, but they only had two servers covering the entire restaurant I was ready to order just a couple of minutes later, and my server never came back. I waited, I even tried to wave down the other server. She just looked at me and walked away. She didn't even bother to tell my server that I was ready to order or that I needed something. Not only that, but the prices were pretty ridiculous. $18 for a simple Cuban sandwich? Not including something to drink? I found a little place just up the road a few miles in Geneva you could get a full dinner for a little over 10 bucks. Thanks anyway, buh--bye. read more

When I think of this place, my stomach growls immediately. I think of hand-breaded chicken tenders like NO other, steaks, salads, and definitely a cocktail or two. Their smoked mac and cheese will blow your mind and you can split it with someone, it's so much food. I do have to comment that I, along with my family, does not enjoy country music at all, so listening to that isn't my favorite. More disappointing, my Mother asked if they might try some other music for those who have been frequenting that location since the 50s (maybe some 50's, 60's, 70's music) and was told "that's what the staff likes, country". I was in Canandaigua with my sister and found this place for lunch through Yelp. It has pretty good ratings and it was not too crowded on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted promptly and given menus. We started off with a pumpkin pie White Russian which we shared. It had good flavor but a little too sweet for me. My sister really liked it. I ordered the smoked Mac & cheese and my sister the Firepit BLT. The Mac & cheese was a huge portion and really tasty! I tried some of the BLT and that was good also. I didn't like the fries that came with the BLT as we both thought they were greasy and overcooked. The waitress gave us a free substitution of mac salad. The Mac salad was good. Altogether a nice experience but can't say it's going to be a favorite lunch stop. read more

Travelling through, searched for dog friendly places. This fit the bill nicely, sat outside at a picnic table for Monday lunch and the dog approved. Smashburger tacos and a huge burger with panko breaded onion rings were just too big to finish. Great service, too. We winged it on this one and it was a winner. App was the Beer Cheese House Cut French Fries. Husband who is the Ruben expert got the Spicy Kimchi Pastrami Reuben and I got the Fire flat bed. Stopped in around 5:40pm on a Saturday for a table of 6 and we were greeted and seated immediately. They have a limited menu but daily specials that change every week. They have a monthly cocktail menu, too. I seem to gravitate towards the flatbread pizzas, specifically the white pizza. Mine had extra balsamic drizzle because I love balsamic, it did not disappoint. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly in my opinion, crispy but not overdone. My friends were all happy with their food choices and the Bourbon Holiday Punch that was on the cocktail menu for December. It is small inside but doesn't feel cramped. There was 12 of us but in spite of that they put tables together right away and were very accommodating. All of the staff were very friendly. We asked for separate checks per couple and that was no problem. Our server was very efficient and so sweet. Everyone loved their meals. I had the Cuban sandwich which was huge and delicious. We were looking for a lunch restaurant and found FLX Public House...what a gem! We were warmly welcomed with our server coming right over to take our drink order. The menu is diverse but we ordered the kimchi Reuben and the BLT...both good but the Reuben was out of this world. My friends and I were visiting the area and we decided to come here for dinner! The Public House seems like one of those go to places for the town of Canandaigua. Our waitress was super friendly and checked in on us often. We had the spent grain pretzels with beer cheese and pub mustard. I usually am not a fan of any mustard, but I did enjoy this one! From the outside, you'd never expect much from this place. Inside it has a bar - casual appearance. But folks don't come here for the ambiance. It's the food. This is our second time and we couldn't wait to get back to share their Rueben with kimchi. Messy but oh so good. We also shared a burger last time which was also tasty (but too much food!) Terrible service and bad bartending. I visited this place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Not many people in the restaurant. I decided to sit at the bar. There were three other customers at the bar. The bartender was talking to one person and the others were enjoying their lunch. I waited for ten minutes without and the bartender ignored me. Then another couple came in the door and sat at the bar and the bartender immediately welcomed them and asked them what they wanted. She never acknowledged my presence. At that point, I simply went up and found whom I thought was a manager and told them I am leaving never to return. This place has a history of being a dive bar for the last 75 years. When I was a kid this was the place to find hard drugs and low lifes. I had heard that it was renovated and was becoming popular. All I can say is not for me. There are many places in town that are far better and will actually welcome you. This place is NOT it. For good food and service try Reason's Bar & Grill where the people are welcoming and the food is great. read more

First let me start by saying my boyfriend and I are in the area for Valentine's Day, we went to check into our Airbnb to find the last people took the key home with them and the owner was unable to contact a locksmith for us so they refunded our stay, while waiting for another Airbnb, we chose to stop at this restaurant down the road. The first 5 minutes we are in the owner of the restaurant and our waiter were helping us get another Airbnb! This was an amazing experience in a stressful time! The staff, owner, and chef were checking in on us periodically and cracking jokes. The owner walked around with a bunch of individual roses for all the customers! Stopped here rather unplanned, and although the wait was crazy due to them being flooded by incoming concert-goers (who knew James Taylor was such a trouble maker?), the food was excellent and worth the wait. I had the Beef on Weck special and would get it again. Salty, buttery, beefy goodness and not at all stringy. My mom had the Cubano and she would NOT STOP TALKING about how good it was. Dad agreed. (um, where's my bite?). Charcuterie board was OK, but I'd stick to the more pub-like fare. The beer selection was OK, the bathroom was passable, and the parking was a bit tight given the crowd, but not bad. If you like pub food, this is your place. It was all a bit greasy and salty for me, but I think that's what people are looking for. Burger, Cubano, and Reuben were all big hits. Once my party realized you couldn't taste pickle in the pickle-brined chicken, they ordered out from there again. Great little spot! We decided to pop in to catch the MLB playoffs and were seated right away. The beer selection was varied from 'big beer' choices to some local favorites. The menu was not exhaustive but had ample pub favorites. Decided to try the Public House after a friend posted about it several times. The food (Cuban, Crookies Burger) was tasty. The hand cut fries are a nice touch. The burger dripped profusely - making it difficult to eat despite cutting it in half - some might prefer this experience. Unfortunately, our very pleasant, efficient waitress sprayed down the adjacent table with a pungent cleaning agent (Fabulosa?) as we ate. The mist wafted over our meal.
