Fantastic sports-friendly atmosphere. TVs galore and super-fast service. Sounds like the wings are the go-to item on the menu but we tried the fish and chips and rice bowl. It all started with the fried bacon cheeseburger bites we had ordered for an appetizer. It took them 48 mins to bring them out to us and they were cold. Couldn't find waitress unTil she brought out our entire my wife ordered the souther Cajun shrimp bubba Gump country bowl. She said that it tasted like concentration camp soup. Hubby and I ate here about 3 weeks ago for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised. Our sever was very good and on the ball. She even gave us a military discount since hubby is active duty. We started with the nachos, they were really good! Lots of toppings and lots of gooey cheese sauce. Some cheap cheese sauce hits the spot! I had a mushroom Swiss burger which was cooked well and tasted yummy. I ordered a side of their Guinness gravy for my fries which was excellent. I had to go inside from the patio area in search of a waitress during a really slow time, around 4pm on a Tuesday. Ordered The California turkey sandwich w/onion rings and I'm glad I added onion rings because I was starving & the sandwich was CRAP. I've never had anything more than mediocre expectations at Beef's because they're basically just "family style bar food" but this visit really sucked. Didn't eat 3/4 of it and the waitress didn't bother to comment when clearing a full plate. I spoke to the manager who made excuses for the kitchen. He should have accepted responsibility, apologized and removed the charge for the poorly prepared, late arriving personal pizza. This resturant is owned by the same person that has the one located in Parrish. The service and food at Lakewood Ranch location is horrible. When we talked to the manager we got an "I don't care" attitude and excuses for everything they did wrong. When we talked to the owner all he did was complain about the emplyees he had and made no attempt to make things right. Stay away from this location. read more

Tried the new 2 for twenty, first the appetizer took over an hour to arrive, entrees arrived 20 minutes later, waitress blamed their new computer system for the delay. The steak bowl was awful, the steak was way over cooked and dry, waitress offered to replace it but we we're already there for an hour and a half, told her to forget it. I may be a little biased because my wife and I have been coming here for years. We've gotten to know the staff and owner and always get great service. That being said, I would rank Beef's ahead of places like Buffalo Wild Wings when it comes to food. They have a good sampling of everything from wings, to burgers, to salads. Good selection of beer as well. I saw a review that stated "limited pub food menu" and had to laugh. Is it Capital Grill? No. But you should know that coming in. For a casual dining experience with good food and good service I would recommend Beef's. read more

Waitress takes food away when it's freezing cold and forgets to bring the rest of the meal outside of the main entree.
