On a liquor run to UTC mall and decided to try out this place... I'd stopped one before and they were slammed with people waiting but figured during the week it would be quieter. I was right - I think there was maybe half a dozen people at the bar and only that many tables occupied. Grabbed a seat at the bar, ordered a Coke and looked at the menu ... on the back of the menu is the specials. I ordered the burger, a Caesar salad and the drink is included. The bartender swapped out my Coke without asking - nice when they keep an eye on your drink and make sure you don't go thirsty! I seriously think the salad was delivered in less than a minute by someone out of the kitchen. It was a basic Caesar but fresh and decorated with croutons and cheese... it was good. Next out was the burger, it was cooked right, dressed up all fancy and came with fries. The fries didn't need any salt, whatever they put on them was plenty. Exactly what I expected which is a good thing when it comes to sports bars. Service was great, kind staff and quick turnaround with all orders. But sadly the strawberry lemonade made in house was terrible and I couldn't finish it. The Caesar salad was great nothing fancy just simple Caesar. My boneless wings were dry and lacked sauce which is too bad because the sauce was really good. Fries were great and my wife's cheesesteak was tasty. Not a lot to say other then due to their inefficiencies, we were never even had a server come to our table. We went on Saturday 1/17 at about 1:30pm. It was beautiful outside and luckily were offered an outdoor table (which was perfect as in inside seating area was very cold). We were sat (2ppl) and were about the 5th or 6th table outside. There was a table sitting next to us that had clearly finished their food and we're waiting to pay their check after about 15 minutes. The mother took the two other children and left the father there to pay the bill. About 10 minutes later, he ended up getting up and going inside to find a server. His new sword ever came outside. We sat at our table for probably 30 minutes and watched the host. Continue to see people outside filling it up. After about 35 minutes of nobody ever even approaching our table, we got up and left. I don't understand if you are short staffed why you would open an extra receiving area if you cannot service it? I have been there in the past and it has not ever been this bad. But after almost 45 minutes, I'm not even being acknowledged, we had to leave and find lunch somewhere else. To me, this was 100% on greedy management. You are not gonna increase your sales by filling up the restaurant and then not having enough service staff on duty to take care of it. I noticed another table also get up and walk towards their car after they saw us get up and leave. This seems like the area's best kept secret. I have seen this place so many times and have never thought of going here, nor heard anyone speak of it. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the sports bar atmosphere and the section of TV's, while also having really good food and reasonable drink prices. I would have given 5 stars but the bartender seemed inattentive at times. Much of the time, she wasn't behind the bar but instead in the kitchen. Empty glasses and dirty food sat longer than they should have. However, she was excellent at memorizing our food order while also being interrupted bu another customer for another drink. We dined Sun 5/18/25 7pm with friends who had joined us due to our positive comments on Glory Days at Lakewood Ranch. Three of the four of us ordered the usually great Rueben. Not sure who was cooking that night but none of the three we were even close to previous and regular visits. The bread was not a marbled rye as shown on your menu. We all received some white loaf bread of some type that was certainly not rye? It appeared to be a french style white. two of the three servings were very lightly toasted but without butter or mayo, ie, they were just dry! The third appeared slightly toasted and to have some fryer oil coating but my wife was unable to tell how it had been toasted as it had a strange taste to it? The meat portion was less than usual and again 2/3 had so little sauerkraut that they might as well have skipped it altogether. Finally, the thousand island or whatever sauce they usually used was again hardly there? Overall a very poor prep of our three ruebens. Someone at GDG LWR should advise the cook who was on that night how to prepare a proper rueben. We are not requesting any compensation as this is not the point and we do really like GDG LWR but this was not good. Thanks! read more
