This review is for trivia night. Beef O'Brady's hosts a trivia night on Wednesdays at 7PM. It is very well attended and lasts until around 9:30PM. There is no charge to participate, but there are bonus points given if you order certain drinks (shots and/or drink specials) or dessert. The food and drink is typical chain fast casual. There's an extensive drink menu of drinks that are mostly pre-mixed. When I was there, several of the listed cocktails were not available because they were out of the mix. Personally, I'd stick to very simple cocktails or stick to beer. Most of the mixes were VERY sweet. The food was fine. Not great, but fine. I had the Reuben sandwich, and it was fair to middling. Not freshly made corned beef. Bread was under-toasted. Not enough sauerkraut but too much 1000 Island. But the fries were good! I wouldn't go to this restaurant just for the food or drinks. However, the trivia night is fun. The emcee is clearly experienced at what he does. There are prizes for every round (there are typically 6 rounds with 10 questions each). It looks like most people who attend are regulars. Service was friendly and faster than expected. Parking is a bit of a pain, but you can usually find a spot in the private lot by the carpet store. read more

Why 3 stars? Because it is what we thought it was. --- --- --- I simply come to Beefs for one reason: it's a Browns Backers bar during NFL season. If you're a huge fan of places like Chili's and Applebee's, then you'll probably find yourself content at Beef O' Brady's. Those types of businesses, however, are not my Cup O' Tea. I often would eat just before heading to the football game, just so that I didn't have to subject myself to eating at Beef's. Well... for the last game of the year I didn't eat before hand. I felt bad watching the game many times without ordering any food, so I got myself some loaded nachos. And the result was that the actual soggy plate of food did not even come close to resembling the majestic slice of culinary heaven from the menu picture. Unfortunately, it tasted like it looked. So how does Beef's get 3-stars? 1) They are a Browns bar, and my favorite in the TB area. 2) Sam/Samantha was our server each week, and she is incredible. Serving for a bunch of hardcore football fans cannot be easy. You have to be a lot like a good referee - unnoticed, but doing your job flawlessly. You can't just jump in and ask for drink orders in the middle of a crucial play, but you also don't have the time to sit around and wait for a commercial to take orders... not when you have several tables of patrons watching other games that are timed up differently. I absolutely LOVE this Beef's!!!! The management is phenomenal and has always been extremely helpful in any situation. I've been coming here for years to attend MSU college football watch parties, Monday Night Football, Sunday afternoon football and even to have dinner with my family. Every single time I've been here, my experience has been amazing. MSU watch parties can be very chaotic with many people and tons of food orders. The staff has always been on their game and accurate. They remain calm and friendly despite the crowds. Monday Night Football is really fun!!! They have "Pour Till They Score" which is free beer (Bud Light) until the first team scores. It's a really fun drinking event to attend with your friends! Sundays are chill at Beef's if you want to kick back and watch a game. They have a full liquor bar as well as great prices on pitchers of beer. The food has always been consistent and very delicious. I really love most of their appetizers as well as the wings. The nachos are huge and really good. Fried pickles are never a bad idea. My favorite wings are the hot boneless (the hotter the better!). I've never heard anything bad from friends and family about the sandwiches or burgers. I've always enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Wrap and the curly fries are delightful. This place is awful. Been going here for years for trivia on Wednesday nights and the bar staff tonight was downright disrespectful, full of excuses and really terrible at their job. Sat at a table in the bar area for 30 minutes and never once did someone come take our order, I had to initiate the interaction only for him to blame me that it was my fault because I didn't sit at the actual bar, are you kidding me, we had 4 people and wanted to sit at a table!! I also pay my $90 tab 45 minutes before we leave to avoid everyone paying their tabs at once, I then leave after trivia not knowing that my wife had opened a $12 tab. They proceed to chase me in the parking lot calling me every cuss word in the book, I then go back in and pay my tab and tell them the situation only for them to continue to cuss me up and down, hey pal if I was knowingly going to skip out on my tab it would have been the $90 one not the $12 one. When we called ahead after children's gasparilla, they said seats are available, first come, first served. we sat (server told us to sit wherever) and ordered apps and drinks, and they put the game on for us. As we waited for our wings and drank our drinks the manager came over to shame us for moving a reserved sign. Apparently the table for 10 we were sitting at was saved for a krewe. The exchange was really bizarre, and he was extremely rude as he accused us of being shady. We cancelled our food order, paid our drink bill and high-tailed out of there. read more

They host them on off peak nights, so this shouldn't affect your dining experience too much. Do expect some noise here regardless. Think Bennigans meets your neighborhood sports bar meets a kid's playroom. You must be be okay with a loud atmosphere. It's very kid-friendly and sports fan-friendly. Lots of games for kids to play. Several TVs for sports fans. Very affordable. Food is as expected; you'll find your typical bar eats. Safe chicken and fries option for the kids among other kid-friendly meals. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was surprisingly really good! Service is nice and friendly, especially given how slammed they can get during games. Great local business to support. read more

I met a friend here for a quick drink tonight and I haven't been to a Beef's in years. We chose this bar more for convenience of location than anything else. I ordered a Apple Cider Martini, which I must admit was very good! They also introduce a brand new IPA every Monday which is priced at only $2! So, my friend was quite happy with that! Our server's name was Joy and bless her heart, it was her first night. Well, Joy was a "joy" to deal with (oh come on...you knew that it was coming haha) and did great for her first night. This is where the University of Michigan and West Virginia University (along with others) alumni officially meet to watch games. Therefore, on days that certain teams are playing, this place will be completely packed! I love this places nachos. They are huge and fully loaded with everything you want on nachos. Their wings are good also. Honestly, all the food here is fine for bar food. The real reason you come here is for the atmosphere. Usually they have two college alumni groups here at the same time. One is in half of the bar and the other is on the other side. This makes sure that on weekends this place is packed to almost standing room only on college football (and basketball) weekends. Parking here can be difficult. The Beef O' Brady's parking lot fills up really fast and you end up having to park on the street. Sometimes the Salvation Army opens up its parking lot to patrons. I'm always wary of parking on the street, because I don't want to be towed, but it seems pretty safe here. This is a great place to grab a beer and relive your college days with people of all ages. read more

The worst experience at this Beef O' Brady at 2819 S MacDill in South Tampa and I used to go here every Friday but this new employee named Shelby S was really disrespectful and irresponsible. I always ask for flat wings and I even told her twice so she came with half flat and half thighs and her excuse was they forgot so I just eat the flat once so when I finish I just push the basket until I finish my fríes so she came with out asking me if I was done and took the basket of the table, so I let that one go cuz I respect but here is another one, when I gave her my credit card she came back with the tag but not with my credit card and when I asked her, she was like ‍ and I said what you mean you didn't bring it back to me so she went crazy looking for my cc OMG she asked the other server to help her look for it. Recently, I went to eat here because I had a free fried pickle coupon. I gave the coupon to the waitress named Desiree and she took it and said we could use it for the meal. She was very rude from the minute we got there and did not seem happy to be there. After ordering and eating the soggy food, she told me that we could not use the coupon because it was for another location but failed to mention that at the beginning before we ordered. Then, she continued to say it was her fault and still made me pay for the meal. Customer service = tragic. read more

My wife and I just went to this location to watch the college football games today. Or, more accurately, we ATTEMPTED to. The restaurant wasn't even at 25% capacity, yet we waited over fifteen minutes without service. The bartender told us that it's a self-seated restaurant (which was helpful since there was no sign). Still, multiple waitresses walked past us while we were seated and completely ignored us. So we got up and left. No one tried to save us as customers. Currently, we're sitting at a far superior Buffalo Wild Wings location. We've received outstanding service, the drink specials are great and the food looks a lot better too. Overall pretty solid food/experience. Bartender Crystal is the bomb. Have had great experiences with her over the past couple years. What pushed me to write this review is that, an employee -- who I think might be an owner -- is rude beyond belief. Very sarcastic attitude when she thought she might be taking my order, in a snarky tone asking "what do you want, buddy?" She had the same attitude towards a customer on the phone. Great place to watch football on Sundays. There are 2 different areas to sit, the main room or the bar area. It's roomy and there are a few video games and the make sure to have several different games going. Service is fantastic and servers are always smiling and having fun. The wings are fantabulous. This place sucks and it sucks bad. We came in a few weeks back for the final four games as this is a Michigan State watch bar and we thought it'd be fun to be around other cheering fans. Besides the Spartan's not winning their game, it was not an enjoyable evening. We had a table right near the bar with about 8 of us and immediately it was a challenge to get anybody's attention to get a drink order in. Once we got drinks going we placed food orders for simple stuff like fries and wings. After most of the order came, we questioned the waitress on where the order of 10 hot wings were and she came back and said they were coming shortly, then we got the wrong wing order which was left at the table while they tried yet again. Near the end of the game, we finally received the order for the wings. After having to ask multiple times, wrong order, etc I would have expected them to just comp the order of wings for the hassle (especially considering our table spent close to $500 during the course of a single basketball game), however not only did they not comp them, they charged us also for the order of the wrong wings! Unbelievable. Then after horrible service, spending tons of money, the owner talks our group into doing a pickle back shot, which we agree to. They also made an order of fireball shots for the staff that was hanging out in the immediate area. After the owner walked away, she called up to the bar and told the waitress to make sure she charged us for the shots. We were all sitting there dumbfounded as the owner positioned it as if she was offering us a round on the house. The waitress then told us, "sorry, that's her M.O." Now today as I am going through and reconciling my credit card receipts, I notice they took it upon themselves to give themselves and additional tip on top of the already over-generous tip I gave that night. I gave 20% despite the fact the waitress really should have gotten 10%. Then after we left the bar that night, we looked back in to see the owner yelling at all of her employees. This bar sucks. So we have gone here a couple of times to watch the WVU games. It was opening day and they were busy but the wait staff was really rather rude. They use those machines where they run your card at the table and sit and look at you while you are tipping them- well I hate those things. As we were driving home I mentioned how much the bill was to my husband, $32 and change for a build your own burger, a French dip, a coke and a water. Again another reason I hate those machines, bring me a bill I can read and see if you made a mistake, which after discussing it there clearly was one. My very first time at beefs! As a vegetarian, the name always scared me away but the menu offers a fair amount of meatless options, such as salads, onion rings, jalapeño corn fritters, grilled veggie bowl, pizza etc. the bartenders are so nice here and do a great job of working around the bar. I wish the nachos had queso sauce versus shredded cheese but oh well. Parking lot is small and although you can park on the side street, it's very narrow so I don't recommend parking there if you drive a suv or pick up truck. Perfect place to watch sports games because it's not overly crowded or loud and you'll get served faster than other restaurants and bars. Also, you get a free glass of beer when the lightning scores a point! During the football season, they "pour until they score"....so they pour for free till one of the teams scores a point. Sweet!!!! Can't beat these wings! I came here to watch the Florida v Jacksonville State. There were a ton of Gator fans there since it was one of the only places in the town showing the games. I very much appreciated it even though only 2 tvs were showing it and they were both a bit tough to see. The food was awesome. I immediately ordered curly fries and I couldn't get enough of them. I love this place. My favorite thing is the feel of the restaurant. Its located in the middle of south tampa and really has a special neighborhood feel. I love when you see people walk in a say hi to other people dinning. This is the kind of bar where people can go alone and sit at the bar and find many people to talk to. Its the kind of bar that sponsors little league teams (which they do). Also.. the wings are awesome... they have a spot on buffalo sauce and you can pretty much get anything on the menu 'buffaloed'. I am a HUGE fan of their fish tacos! My fiance' and I come here every Wednesday night at 7:30pm because they have a Trivia League that takes place. It's a lot of fun, challenging questions and of course, there's always a game on the TV's. The service is pretty decent, but then again, during Trivia, it's packed.
