Tried 1983 for the first time tonight for the Girls Who Sip event they will host every Thursday 5-8pm. Networking, headshots, light bites & drinks - my dream. I was impressed by the display and the food. It was hot out but the outdoor patio was completely shaded and had a good amount of fans. Our server Justin was THE BEST!!!!! He was a natural and was super accommodating to all our asks. Not to mention very quick/efficient with all of our asks. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu. Will be back for not only these weekly social events but in general!

Had a fun time having a drink and playing some games at 1983. They have a big bar and lots of tables, but also a decent size gaming area!! Lots of fun games like ski ball, air hockey, shootings games etc. It's not very big but definitely enough to have some fun! I had the Key Lime Martini which was delicious and we did the $30 game card which was unlimited play for an hour. Definitely a fun stop after dinner.

1983 has a really cool concept and visually it makes a great first impression. The combined indoor-outdoor space gives it a fun, open energy. It's perfect for Tampa weather and the design feels trendy and thoughtfully done. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the atmosphere. The dishes sounded great on the menu, but the execution fell flat. Flavors felt underwhelming and not particularly memorable, especially for the price point. It wasn't terrible, just disappointing given how appealing everything looked. Service also left something to be desired. It felt inattentive and a bit disorganized, which added to the overall frustration. There were delays and a lack of follow-through that took away from what could have been a really enjoyable night. The space itself is definitely the highlight, it's a great setting for drinks and socializing. I'd consider coming back for cocktails and the vibe, but I hope the food and service improve to match the potential this place clearly has.

Nice and kinda upscale sports bar ... I like the way the outdoor area blends into the indoor area. There are a bunch of arcade type of games which provides a pleasure distraction if you're looking for a kids friendly place where the adults can let the kids loss while you enjoy an adult beverage. Bunches of TVs which I imagine makes this a great place to watch sports ... though parking seemed a bit limited. Interesting enough, though I didn't check it out, but there appears to be a separate dinner type room opposite the bar/patio area. Way the low rating? Was there for happy hour and was charged $18 for their $9 happy hour expresso martini ... they did correct it but only after I pointed it out ... was a bit unsettling. Anyway, that wasn't enough to make me not come back but I will be on guard though ... which you don't want to be when trying to relax.

1983 is such a fun, well-rounded spot in Tampa. It's relatively new, and I went twice in the same week which says a lot. The first visit was a girls' night, and the food truly impressed us. The salmon and pasta were both excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Everything felt elevated but still comforting. I loved it so much that I suggested we come back that same week for Football Sunday, and it ended up being the perfect game-day spot. We sat outside, there were plenty of TVs, and the vibe was lively without feeling overwhelming great for groups. They also have an arcade, which adds a fun touch for both kids and adults. The staff was genuinely kind and welcoming during both visits, which really made the experience even better. Parking was easy during the weekday with a lot in the back. On Sunday, valet was required (likely due to the crowd) and was around $5 totally reasonable. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and a spot I'd confidently recommend for both a night out or game day. I'll definitely be back.

Sooo 1983 Restaurant hasn't missed for me. I've been twice now, and the food has been consistently very good. I love the inside remodel, and the outdoor area is super chill with some game options and a separate arcade space. Everything has tasted really fresh each time I've gone, and I hope they keep that up. I'll definitely be back!

I came here with my family on Christmas Eve. We were happy to have somewhere fun that was open and available seating. We enjoyed our meals and were grateful for a laidback vibe. We appreciated the staff being there on a holiday, so we could celebrate and enjoy one another's company.

I've actually visited 1983 multiple times and this was my 5th time there. I really thought it could be a go to spot for me! Not quite sure what direction they're going in as the menu has had changes EVERY time I went (food options and the cost of those options). Overall, the food is pretty good (nothing special) and it has a very nice vibe! There's traditional indoor seating that looks more formal, as well as covered indoor/outdoor style seating. I really loved the staff there when they initially opened, and that's what was bringing me back, but I've noticed alot of the staff (especially bartenders) is no longer there. I think ownership/management needs to iron down their vision if they want this place to truly be a staple, because it's been less busy each visit.

Kids menu

Fun place for the family in South Tampa. My kids are still at that age where they love Dave N Busters. But that's in Brandon. I'm not saying that 1983 is the equivalent to DNB. It's not. Their arcade is smaller and more expensive. But it can scatch an itch when the kids want to play video games and I don't feel like driving to Brandon. I made reservations on Opentable, and the table was ready when we arrived. We had a nice seat in the main dining room. Lots of games going on in the background, but we could hold a conversation. The menu was fine for what it was. Nothing particularly innovative, but then neither is DNB. My daughter loved that she had so many options with her kids meal (she chose the mac and cheese, the french fries, the gummi bear lemonade, and the scoop of vanilla ice cream). My husband got a burger, which he described as "fine." He asked for a side salad with ranch instead of the fries, and he said that they were rather stingy with the dressing, to the point that he had to ask for more. I had the spinach and bacon salad with skirt steak. It was pretty good. The steak was cooked to medium rare, which I liked. The beverage menu was fine, more in line with a restaurant focused on brunch than dinner, but I guess that's what the beer was for! The wine list was not impressive for a restaurant that offers a $69 ribeye. My first choice of beer was out, and the second choice only had half a glass left in the tap (she brought it to me for free). I ordered a glass of the only rose on the menu, and it was fine but not worth reordering. All in all, it was a fine meal out, but it wasn't fine dining. The price was slightly higher than Dave N Buster, but I suppose it was worth the convenience fee of not having to leave South Tampa.

Great value for prime rib + delicious! The best side of quality vegetables that anywhere offers + The servers are attentive + friendly

I came here with down friends for a birthday. Let me start by saying that the arcade area was not as good as I was expecting. It's more geared towards kids in my opinion than adult. The inside and outside seating area was very nice and chic. The food was also pretty good I had the wings which were delicious. One of my friends got the chicken tender tower. Chicken tenders were average. The presentation was OK. Not sure if it was worth the price. Overall, this is a cool place to watch the game grab some wings and have a drink. I wouldn't come just for the arcade..

Cheese steak Eggrolls

Food is for the most part decent. The eggroll cheesesteak meat was a bit chewy and not the best quality but plenty other items to make up for it. Pretzel is AMAZING. Chicken Tender Tower is a great deal. I will say when we went they were playing the most depressing music playlist and it was really killing the vibes. We wanted to hurry and get out because the mood was not good

I'm not sure if each client individually gets to choose the caterer or if it is standard when planning the event but the catering was phenomenal. I unfortunately did not get the name of who was servicing the event but the walk around appetizers and finger foods, the huge array of cheeses and meats for the charcuterie board and the buffet dinner were really good. The drinks were also flowing, service was very friendly. Inside is a well air conditioned meeting space with a projector and a decent amount of chairs. The restroom is conveniently located for both the rooftop and conference area. The building is beautiful; you pass thru an unusual (in a good way) bookstore, candle pour bar,…read morecoffee bar, tea bar, a gift shop with very unique items, & then into the restaurant. Paintings adorn the walls inside, but you can also dine in the "outside patio" with a glass ceiling overhead & lots of plants around. Our server, Cami, was pleasant & gave us time to peruse the menu. The option of breakfast served all day was a surprise. We decided to try three appetizers: the whipped feta, buttermilk fried chicken & fried Brussel sprouts. A glass of sangria & iced tea for beverages. Everything was delicious & exceeded our expectations. Cami checked on us regularly asking if we'd like to order anything else. Would definitely put the Oxford Exchange at the top of our restaurant list when going across the bridge to Tampa. Already thinking about the French toast for the next visit.

The champagne bar is over here as well. My group went for brunch the day we went. I got the avocado toast and the brussel sprouts. As a fan of both, it didn't disappoint. And both were huge and fresh. The table split the ricotta and honey cheese and naan bread. The lemon blueberry pancakes were also a hit. I'm not a big fan on of cake in general but I heard the yellow cake was great. It was the perfect mixture of light and dense and the chocolate icing was to die for. It was the perfect compliment to the cake. There's so much to do here you could easily spend a good couple hours here. It's also a great spot to stop on your way to other fun activities in the area. I highly recommend getting reservations! I can't wait to go back and try some new stuff!
