Chicago Italian beef's have always been among my favorite foods, but the best I could find was about a 30 minute drive each way from my house. I was excited to find something closer to home, and generally impressed with Beefstro's. I found the location clean, welcoming and the staff very friendly. There was some limited seating via high tops and lower tables. I ordered the beef with motz, small fries and a Pepsi, which took about 10 minutes to cook. The cost was over $16 which seemed a little high but that's common in Naples. My first impression- the beef and fries looked great, but the portion was smaller than I expected. I did ask for a small fry, but most pieces seemed to be the very small end bits of a potato. The beef has less meat than I would expect, but the flavor was excellent! Aside from the smaller than expected portion for the cost, my only other dispoaintment if I am frustrated when expected to tip for quick service/fast food places. I certainly could say no, but if they are asking for a tip, I assume the staff are not paid well and feel obliged. read more

We were here once before & I don't think we'd return. My husband had the beef sandwich & I had the Philly beef. His beef sandwich was rather skimpy on the beef especially when you're used to a Portillos beef, absolutely no comparison. The krinkle cut fries were fresh & hot, my Philly beef sandwich was ok but lacking any flavor, I chose provolone cheese, maybe that was the mistake? Being from Chicago, we stopped by Beefstros for some chicago style beef sandwiches. The workers were pleasant and the place was tidy. We ordered to go and upon opening our food, we were shocked by how skimpy they were with the meat. It also advertised grilled onions and peppers on sandwich. No peppers and maybe one onion. This is not chicago style. False advertising....we will not be back. Especially paying almost $11 for this sandwich. We we're looking for a quick meal down the road in between our appointments and to fall upon this place. So we figured we'd give this place a chance and we're so glad we did!! Native Chicagoan here, lived there for 90% of my life, I've eaten at all the best beef and hotdog spots and I'm highly critical of ANY place outside of Chi that boasts about it's "Chicago beefs". Which I think is funny because in Chicago they don't call them Chicago beefs they call them Italian beefs! Anyway, the place is clean, has an open kitchen, and is loaded with very genuine touches of Chicago living. I felt a bit home sick! Ok now the food, I ordered a beef, with mozzarella, dipped, add giardiniera peppers. Also, a Chicago dog with everything on it. They use Vienna! The dog has everything it's supposed to have! It was very good. This served as a big reminder for me that Vienna makes the best dog! Better than Nathan's! (Fight me) The beef, was dipped expertly, tasted amazing and had genuine Italian flavors ( not like the taste of flavoring cubes melted in water as others I've tried). The peppers were up to my standards as well, overall just a great tasting beef (can't believe I'm writing that for a Florida review). ONLY part I wish they did different is wrap the beef up if it's dipped, just makes it easier to open slowly as you eat it. But honestly it was such a small detail I almost feel bad adding it, either way I ate and enjoyed every last morsel. You would too! The two fellas behind the counter were friendly and professional. They made the beef and dog expertly and asked if everything was ok, overall great service from these guys. What can I say! I am so glad I have a place for beefs and dogs now! The reviews for this place are great. I don't get it. The prices are fair. The manager/owner is very customer oriented and hard working . The service is good to very good. So what's my hangup? The lunches are too heavy and fried with the exception of the grilled cheese sandwich. The sides seem limited to either fries or chips. I have been looking for a good Chicago style hot dog place in Naples. While many claim they have it only one so far has it. Beefstro's hot dog is every bit as good as a Chicago dog in Chicago. Poppy seed bun, sport peppers, onion, slice of pickle. In typical Chicago style these dogs will fall apart when you eat them. They use a fine grade of beef hot dog. And they were put on the grill love it. I am pretty sure the owner was taking the orders and he was about my age maybe younger.
