We decided to try this place for dinner on Tuesday night. We had great seats outside overlooking the water. We could watch the fish swim around below us once it got dark. Our service was excellent. We just went for several appetizers and a couple drinks. We started with the Nachman's Native Fish Dip, then ordered the Chilled Jumbo Shrimp. The shrimp were huge and the cocktail sauce has just enough burn from the horseradish. We also had Neptune's Extraordinary Conch Fritters. They were my favorite. Just had another awesome meal at the Boathouse. Weather it's Lunch or dinner or hors d'oeuvres at the bar during happy hour This place never disappoints. Today there were 5 of us for lunch. Lissette was our server and she was great. Really took her time with us. She made suggestions and was very attentive. A real asset to the experience. We had the perfect window table overlooking the bay. Portions are not skimpy. I had the pastrami open faced sandwich (delicious) Everyone else had the crab cakes and all said they were excellent as well. This is a great restaurant to take your out of town company to. My husband and I went to enjoy and relax, which we did. I had the Lobster, Scallop and Gulf Shrimp Sauté and my husband has the Center Cut Ribeye. They were definitely delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. My drink Shipwrecked was delicious as well. My dish was so great and I'm one who usually never finishes my meal and usually take leftovers home, but I took nothing home, I couldn't finish all the pasta but left very little on the plate. The service was wonderful, we started with the Clams Casino which was just perfect, even the bread was great, Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. The ambiance is superb as well we were sitting at a window overlooking the Bay and watching boats coming and going. It was very relaxing and enjoyable and will assuredly come here again, even though it's a trip from Babcock Ranch. I haven't written a poor review in a very long time, today I had a really bad experience with the food at this restaurant. While I'm not a local to Naples, my family has been here for years and I was looking for a good meal at Boathouse (which I've had before). This is a no frills fish house with an extensive menu and a beautiful view of Naples Bay. The food was outrageously good. Huge portions! I had the blackened grouper, a huge piece of fish with a baked potato. My party of 6 all had wonderful meals and we are definitely coming back. It's no frills because the atmosphere is old school fish house, not fancy at all. The service was impeccable, our waiter was very attentive. The only thing that kept this review from 5 star was that their plates and bowls need to be replaced. Many of the old school ceramic plates came with chips in them. When i first visited this place to check it out, it had a fish market stench to it like where they toss the fish into newspapers! But when our party came on another day that aroma was eradicated. I chose this place because it's on the water and i would like the view of the water through the window which we were fortunate enough to get that seat of the high table. Ominous clouds over us and even saw a dolphin or two provided a picturesque setting. I got a fried grouper according to market size and it was minute proportion but fine with fries on the side with lemonade for drink. Bread with butter was good to start. Other members of the party i was with got lobster bisque which was creamy with the bread and the prosecco was better at the table than at the bar and third member got escargot appetizers with a martini. My mother and I went last night sat outside on the deck, we had a terrific time. The lobster bake was perfectly cooked, plenty of fresh seafood and seasoned correctly, presentation was great. I was greeted immediately by a hostess who after checking server load/availability sat me at a small table (it was only me) with a MAGNIFICENT view of the Bay I was fortunate to be assigned a waitress (Catrina) who did nothing but impress! She wore the pink uniform shirt advertising the restaurant while all other servers I observed wore black.... nice touch I ordered several things, so here's MY take... A cup of the NE Clam chowder came out piping hot and had a great taste with a nice amount of class. 4 out 5 stars $8.25 A cup of Lobster Bisque came out piping hot. Great taste, but not enough Lobster for my taste. 4 out of 5 stars $8.75 Broiled Bacon wrapped Sea Scallops for $16.25 was a let down as the bacon was to raw and the Scallops overcooked. 3 out of 5 stars For entree, I ordered the wild Salmon blackened ($19.00) with a baked potato ($3.00). Salmon great and seasoning not overpowering. The baked potato in my opinion was probably over cooked as it was dark on color and rather dry. I attempted to rescue the discord flavor with the lemon carpet sauce which accompanied my Salmon, but to no avail. Salad came presentable and looks delicious. I ordered the clambake I think they cooked it all day everything was so dry the crab legs the clams mussels the and the shrimp I can't even fight with it anymore the only thing you really edible was the corn on the cob and the potatoes. Stopped in here for lunch this week, it had been about 15 years since I'd been here. This is an old school spot with a great view. The food is really well priced (cocktails are a little high) and it's tasty. I had the seafood melt and it was really good, along with the salad I picked for my side. They also brought out delicious rolls for the table. Our server was great as well. Minus one star because the bathrooms are tiny and the ladies room smelled really bad. The stuffed shrimp was always a big hit for Dottie. I had the Seafood Norfolk and it was very good, but saw pix of my visit three years ago. I should have ordered the seafood paella! The service was average. It's not what you expect from a nice restaurant. The drinks were served late and you could tell that the ice was already starting to melt. The soup was the New England clam chowder, and the top had already started to crust over meaning that it was sitting in the back for a while. The food was undercooked and very small portions. This doesn't deserve the low stars. Quite frankly we've eaten a few spots that were even fancier and the food sucked and overpriced. However, we ate here the other night and it was quite tasty. The seafood was cooked very well. I got the stuffed shrimp with crab meat. And I couldn't believe how tasty it was. My kids enjoyed their meals as well and my husband got a simple grilled chicken wrap. It's also has a very pretty view and honestly, I would love to go back again next time I'm in the area. I also eat all over the place. I am from New York area so I have a pretty good sense of what tastes good. You could tell that the seafood is fresh and it's not overcooked. So many places around here overcook the seafood. We ate at a fancy restaurant on fifth Avenue which I will not name because I don't wanna tarnish their reputation and it has very high reviews. Pros: -The happy hour prices on drinks, especially rail cocktails, is great! -The servers are friendly, and when there was a mistake on the bill, they quickly corrected it. -They will keep bring free bread if you want it! And the butter is warm and very easy to spread. -RIGHT on the water, so if you have a boat, that's even better! -If you split an entree, they will split it for you so you don't have to do it at the table. Cons: -The rail cocktails are NOT good. I guess you get what you pay for. The house wine isn't much better. -The service is slow, even when it's not very busy. It's almost like the servers refuse to make eye contact with you! -If you get the calamari/gator appetizer, you get WAY more gator than calamari. read more

We have eaten there several times. I have had the lobster and seafood bake, which was ok except it was very messy and everything tasted like Old Bay seasoning. Our last visit, on our anniversary, I decided to have a fried seafood combo. The cod was good, but the rest of the seafood was overcooked, chewy, and all looked and tasted alike. I could not tell one thing from another and I never found an oyster. I thought about sending it back, but I didn't want to make a scene on our anniversary. Also, they were short staffed, so our server, who was nice, was taking care of half the floor. She did the best she could. I ate even the house salad, which I typically regard as a nuisance. Freshly cut, juicy vegetables that actually had taste, sweet onion. When did I ever eat a salad? When did I ever write about a side salad in a review?! Chily was great. Gumbo was ok. Paella tasted awesome, and had a nice presentation. Lite Boiled Platter was uninspiring, but the Seafood Melt was a good smaller hot sandwich. Maybe I'll try steak next time. Maybe a recommended appetizer? The beer selection was sad, so I focused on eating rather than drinking. I hope that's not why I liked the food. We did order one mango cocktail, which seemed to have real fruit in it, and it was nice. Giving this place full credit this time, but please fix the beer selection. We have had good experiences at the Boat house but tonight was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. In spite of having a reservation we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. The food was not good with the tiniest lobster tail sitting alone on a plate and our guests had overly breaded shrimp with a golf ball sized baked potato! We were there to celebrate 2 birthdays and the served cake was inedible...all this took over 2.5 hours! When I asked to speak to the manager, he wasn't there. The server did her best but this restaurant was overwhelmed and overbooked. First things first - valet parking. Be ready for it, and keep a tip for the valet handy. We had a 4:30 reservation, and arrived at 4:20. Then due to the valet line, had a 5 minute wait, but we got in to the place in time to claim our reservation. We noted we had asked for an outside table, so the person outside took us inside, then back outside to our table. We asked for a table on the water, but the server for that area had not arrived yet, so we got one next to the hedge, then got moved to the water side when the server arrived. The server was very attentive - they had special drinks for happy hour up until 5:30, so I had an Old Fashioned, while two of our party had Cosmos and another had a glass of wine. Water was also brought to the table initially and kept full. Also, 8 pieces of hot We had their Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer, and then a Caesar Salad and a baked potato. For a seafood place, I was expecting to see anchovies on the Caesar, but nope, no anchovies. The Seared Ahi Platter had three dips - one was a weak wasabi, a second was sweet and sour, and the third was soy sauce. The tuna was dipped in sesame seeds, and tasted good. For the main course, I selected their salmon special, broiled in lemon sauce, with the caper sauce. What I got was all of that, but with a different sauce. No biggie. The salmon was tasty. The baked potato didn't come with any butter, so we used some of what was left from the bread thankfully. Two of our party split a Grouper dinner (which resulted in a $10 second plate charge) and there was enough to fill both of them up. They also split the sides. My wife had the Lite Stuffed Flounder, and she thought it was good. Service was good. They were turning on the heaters - I'm glad I had a light jacket with as the night progressed, it got cooler out there rapidly. The restaurant theme was definitely nautical in nature. Boats can be seen from the outside of the restaurant, and if you like airplanes and the wind is right, the approach for the nearby airport just about goes right over the restaurant. read more

Cool little hang out and although we had a 6:30 reservation we had to wait until almost 7 to get sat but we're all bar people so that wasn't a problem with us. Not a fan of their prosecco and a Manhattan or Old-Fashioned should always be served with a Luxardo, ditch the maraschino's. Hard to best the ceviche in Belize but this shrimp ceviche lacked in presentation and had more tomatoes than shrimp and fish. It needs to be chopped more. Broiled seafood platter was good but the lobster had no flavor or seasoning, very bland. I know it's hard to knock it out of the park each time but just wanted to give a heads up. Grouper fish was fantastic! So was the Chesepeake Bay Steak. Gator bites were on point but have spicy marinara next time. We can't wait to come back and try more items! read more
