This place seems to be a staple in Orlando...everyone seems to rave about it. Until this year I have not been. I ordered and sandwich and fries and ate in at the restaurant. The restaurant is no-frills for sure. It reminds me of an old-school sub shop. Wood gain laminate tables and all. The sandwich and fries were nothing special if you ask me. They were fine and I enjoyed them - but truthfully this place is over-hyped. The service was friendly - I believe the owner was there and seemed to be attending patrons there (including us) to ask if we needed anything. I appreciate that there was care taken to talk to customers and ensure they had what they needed - I've only been here this one time, but if that is typical for this place - I suspect it is why the place gets hyped......service can certainly make a difference. read more

Didn't realize that they close at 5:30 most days, so had to change the time frame when to visit. We arrived around 3pm I think planning to sit inside and there was a sign on the door that the dining room was closed and had to use the drive thru. The price of a JR beef is only $4.50 which is a great price, you can also get meal combos with spuds (tater tots) and a soda. I wish I had thought to ask for rare beef because it was too overcooked for me and some pickles but I think that would have charged extra. Because we had to eat in the car, we ate it within a couple of mins of ordering and I just felt like my bun was soggy. I don't think I would go out of my way to try again but it is a local shop and the guy who took our order was very nice. So support local and maybe it will be just your kind of meat! We came on a Saturday around 1 and it was very busy! the drive through was wrapped around the building and the parking lot was mostly full, we went in to eat and service was very quick. food was hot and delicious! the turkey sandwich was sooooo good i'm still thinking about it! the homemade bun was soft and the crisp lettuce made it taste so fresh. tater tots and onion rings were simply perfect! the roast beef was slightly dry on its own but they had an array of different sauces to add that were very good (especially hot bbq) ! would definitely recommend and will be back! read more

I have been going to Beefy King since I was born. Our families go back. Let me put it this way, I'm about 95% vegetarian. Mom's spaghetti and Beefy King are the exceptions. When my little sister was born she was named for the older sister of the founders... i happened to have already been sharing the same name as the younger sister. Yep, my little sister was named after Beefy King. That's dedication. That's how great that place is! My tip, whatever size sandwich you order, I always go for the classic beef (add cheese), have them put it on a bun for the next size up ... you're gonna get a lot of meat and the extra space helps. Also, Horsey sauce! It's a must, for both the sandwich and the spuds. Just grab a bottle and take it to the table with you. They do offer little cups if you're getting it to go, and you can get it through the drive thru, as well. I'm 40 now, and I live out of state, but every time I'm home I stop by. Without fail. I cannot believe I've been driving past these delicious sandwiches for over a decade! The roast beef is cooked in house daily and omg is it good. The roast beef so seasoned and tender, just perfect! The buns are soft and fluffy. They also have sauces to add on the sandwich but definitely try the roast beef without sauce because the flavor is unmatched. Saving the best for last, the tator tots are something to write home about. I mean every tator tot was crispy, golden brown and perfectly fried. They have different size sandwiches, 2 oz, 3 oz and 5 oz. My husband ordered the jumbo 5 oz and I ordered the 2 oz jr. You definitely get more bang for your buck here. The prices are excellent, customer service was great as well. This place was a blast from the past but in a good way and the name of the place doesn't lie. Inside gives off an old restaurant vibe but it's clean with friendly staff who are hard at work steaming up some delicious sandwiches. I ordered the pastrami sandwich (regular portion) meal deal with tater tots and it didn't disappoint. Is this really my first Beefy King review?! HOW? How is that possible? Well friends, do not take my lack of reporting as any indication of how special this place is. Not that they need my endorsement, Beefy King is an Orlando staple. Legendary roast beef sandwiches (and more!) and the crispiest spuds (tater tots) paired with familiar faces who welcome you back every time...that is Beefy King. I worked downtown for 7 years and beefy king was halfway between my office and home, THAT was dangerous. The freshly sliced, juicy roast beef is paired perfectly with cheese and I add their horseradish for the perfect lunch. The portions are great whether you go for jr regular or XL you will have a good meal. If you're extra hungry you can get a platter, but the meal deal is just right for myself. The dining room is dated, but in a good way! It feels familiar and homey. The service can't be beat. Even if there is a line it will move quickly! The teamwork happening here is probably what Chick-fil-A modeled their service after. Tiny parking lot but if you time it right you can find a spot! Finally we have made the trip to Beefy King known for their steamed roast beef sandwiches. The wait was definitely worth it. We ordered the original roast beef sandwich, the Reuben and some tater tots. All of them We're delicious and fresh. The horseradish and the sweet heat horseradish went so well with the roast beef sandwich. This is a must if you're in the milk district area or traveling in Orlando. I'm sitting in the Beefy King parking lot typing out this review because I just couldn't wait to share the greatness of this place. It's like Arby's but with (1) fresh food and (2) employees who truly care. It also reminded me of In-N-Out burger in that you got a real sense of how much love this family has put into their business. The employees were prompt, courteous and polite. The interior was vintage-looking but sparkling clean. I ordered the regular roast beef combo platter which ran around $12. It included a sandwich, tater tots and cole slaw. This was more than enough for a hearty lunch. I was expecting cold deli style roast beef but this turned out to be piping hot, lean and tender. The cheese melted onto the meat perfectly. I cannot believe I've only now learned of this place after spending years in the Orlando area. My only wish is that they'd stay open late as I think they would make a killing. However I understand not wanting to deal with all the drunk UCF kids who would come with that territory. This is a very clean and family friendly restaurant. It's fresh, fast, customizable, hot, juicy, and ready for you to top with any of their flavorful sauces. It's not a chain restaurant it's not open late but when you come in the staff is ready to serve and help you pick the right sandwich. To me, Beefy King lives up to its hype, the food is delicious! When i visited today the dining room was closed due to the pandemic so it was drive thru only. I ordered a meal deal. You get a sandwich, drink, and "spuds" (tater toto). I upgraded the drink to a cherry shake. For the sandwich I had the pastrami and cheese. Everything was really delicious. The pastrami came on a soft bun and I loved that. I am used to having it on rye bread but the beefy king bun was so much better. The Spuds (tater tots) were fantastic, the pastrami delicious. I dressed it with their Heinz Horseradish Sauce. The shake tasted like ice cream. I think i will get the beef sandwich to take home for dinner and update this review. read more

We love ZERO nonsense QSRs that have perfected a/their specialty. And yes, we also love roast beef sandwiches. Why go to a stupid chain when Beefy King ALSO has the meats...and old school shakes, and tots, and great customer service? We strongly recommend keeping it simple: X-Large Roast Beef, large tots, and a large chocolate shake. While BK does have other meats, we watched our roast beef sandwich go from carving station to assembly to the steamer (cool setup) to the tray. Perfectly seasoned and cooked, we enjoyed our first "real" roast beef sandwich. Because it was lunch time, BK was crowded, but kept the line moving AND enthusiastically answered all our "first timer" questions with a smile and confidence in their food. Reasonably priced, located, and self-aware, Beefy King is the perfect Orlando lunch spot. Everyone in the dining area was smiling and looked happy to be there.
