This place is bigger than what it looks like on the outside. It's clean and has a lot of tables for eating inside. The staff was nice and the service was fast for fried foods. I got the whole wing combo and it was pretty good. Not a lot of places sell whole wings anymore. They had a lot of menu options and a plethora of desserts. Wanted a quick bite and was not let down. Let's start off with service. The service is very good. The ambiance is lively. The food is really good. The buffalo wings are delicious, the cheesesteak is good, and the fries are well seasoned. I will say the cashier does have a little sassy response to some, but that's only if you aren't paying attention or being snarky. So I will say props to them for not letting people not walk all over them. Now for the actual inside itself, the floor and tables are clean, however, the bathroom says another story. What a great little place to get fried chicken. My chicken was moist in the inside and crunchy on the outside. It was prepared what I would call traditional southern style! If you buy a chicken sandwich you get a convenience food chicken patty. The chicken sandwich comes with a large bun, tomato and lettuce. The chicken was small, flat, dry and odd tasting. If you order chicken nuggets you also receive a convenience food product. The corn nuggets looked and taste like convenience food. The fried okra looked and taste like convenience food. They were over cooked with a very hard exterior and super dry on the inside. The gyro meat taste like low quality processed meat that has an extended shelf life. Their made-to-order chicken appeared to be cooked fresh and taste very good. I think that the majority of positive reviews may be just on the made-to-order chicken. I've been to Kennedy multiple times by now. The first time I tried it a long time ago, I had it delivered to me via some app since it was far away at the time. I remember getting the wing and shrimp combo, and being blown away by the portion size for the price, and the quality being pretty decent too. Recently I moved a lot closer, and have been there at least 5 times now since then. The value of what you get for the price is unbeatable. The chicken boxes are a steal! You get lots of delicious, non greasy, flavorful chicken and sides and biscuits. The buffalo wings are usually my go-to, especially as a combo with the fries and the drink. 9 whole wings and fries and a drink for only $10!?? come on. The batter they put on the shrimp makes it taste so much better. My husband usually gets the chicken tenders. They visually look kinda dry but are still juicy on the inside. He's also ordered the chicken sandwich. It's a small piece of chicken in a big bun. But still a whole sandwich with friend and a drink for $6... still decent. I give it 4 stars because the value is so so so worth it and the food is good! It's not like holy sh*t AMAZING but it's still pretty friggen great. Open until midnight and you can call ahead. Surprisingly service was quick considering the amount of patrons. The food was impressive! The rice was aromatic and flavorful on its own; only to be made better by their signature sauce. Both the grilled chicken and salad served with the rice were good, but nothing to write home about. The star for me was undoubtedly the fried chicken. It was surprising that it was not even remotely greasy considering it had literally just come out of the fryer. The chicken is hard to compare to a Popeyes, Church's or Publix, although in my opinion, Kennedy's is better. It's not a ton of batter with lots of crispy bits. Ive ordered the chicken and rice here for years. We get the catering order of 2 POUNDS of chicken over rice. Well when i got home today; there was not even a pound of chicken in the tray but they are a 40 min drive so I could not go back. I called them and they had nothing to say. My coworker introduced me to this place by bringing their fried chicken into work several times. I finally had an opportunity to visit them myself recently and it did not disappoint! Neighborhood chicken joint that - like all fried chicken restaurants I have ever seen - did not impress with decorations, but the chicken itself is amazing. Less crunchy that Popeyes but the batter is flavored with ?curry? Or something else that I can't put my finger on but is very very tasty l.
