Erica is the best ! She did the hair for myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding. My hair looked exactly like the picture I showed her. When looking at photos and videos after .., I was thrilled to see that my hair was everything I dreamed of. All the bridesmaids loved her work as well. Erica is so funny and chill... she made me feel at ease on my wedding day.

If you're a brunette who has stubborn, brassy hair and need color correction, I highly recommend V…read moreSalon! About a year ago, I had the worst experience with a hair stylist who claimed to be a color specialist. I came in for color correction to get all the brassiness out. She assured me that achieving an ash brown hair color was doable. $320 and 2 days later (a total of over 6 hours), the result was a nightmarish shade of dark blue at the bottom half and brass on top. She blamed her incompetence on my difficult "Asian hair". This was the first and only time I cried after a " professional" hair treatment. Afterwards, I started dyeing my own hair, which looks way better than her work, but still couldn't get rid of the brass. I realized that my entire hair needed to be bleached by an expert and couldn't do it myself, so I did some research and found V Salon. I specifically chose V Salon because one happy Yelp reviewer recommended it for Asian hair. Because of the horrible experience in the past, I was a bit nervous and skeptical. But when Ben mentioned that my hair needed to be bleached and warned me of the damage it will cause during the initial consultation, I sensed he knew what he was doing. He consulted with me every step of the way to make sure I agree with possible outcomes. He even took a few strands of my hair and dyed it to to show me a sample before he colored my entire head. The sample looked too dark and gray, so I asked for a lighter ash brown color and wondered if a little gray or blue would counter the orange undertones. Not sure if he made the actual adjustments, but the overall job was fabulous upon completion! No more brass!!! Take a look at the amazing before and after photos. Will be coming back for a layered hair cut to remove the frayed and damaged ends. Can't wait to see it! Note: As of March 2021, V Salon is only accepting cash. Vincent said their machine was down. Luckily, I just went to the ATM the other day. (A lot of businesses in RI prefer cash, for some reason.) Prices are on the higher end. My bleach and color treatment costs $250, without a haircut. Update: Ben's hair cutting techniques are comparable to the expensive hair salons inside Copley Plaza in Boston that charge $100+ (crazy) but more affordable at only $37 for medium long hair. The layered hairstyles are very detailed and seamless, as opposed to the basic, quick cuts at Supercuts, but for the same price (with shampoo & blow dry)!

I finally decided to get a perm and went to V Salon after recommendations from others. This is my…read morefirst time doing anything with my hair and the staff there was so professional and talented. Kallen did my perm and he is really an expert at what he does. He consulted me about exactly what I wanted and made an environment where I felt comfortable, especially being there for two hours. The picture is about a week out and the curls have stayed and I really love it.

Want a cutting edge do? Where you won't come out looking like an old hag? Enter Flipp Salon!…read moreCreative, innovative and clear vision with these top rate hair cutters! FLIPP SALON "SEES" you! They cut your hair to your face: that's right- eyes, ears, mouth and nose make every difference when getting a great cut! A bit pricey you may say~ well, I say: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR FOLKS! However, I am now being ghosted by this company and am filing a dispute with my bank. I was so excited when I found Flipp salon. I thought they would definitely be able to give me the edgy haircut I've been looking for- a chin length shagged wolf cut. I submitted on online consult form and didn't hear back. A week later I called and left a message. After getting no response and waiting another week I emailed them on instagram and then *finally* got in touch. I had an in person consult with Kseniya and brought photos of what I was looking for, as well as photos of myself with my most favorite haircut. I came in for the appointment and was more definitive of what I was looking for-which was my previous haircut a chin length layered bob with an A line. I showed her pictures of the cut and color and...... promptly had my hair poorly dyed and hacked off nearly to the scalp. I had over a foot and a half of curly hair. After the first cut I realized Kseniya did not understand curly hair and I didn't know what to do. The first cut with my wet hair was at my cheekbone- Do I jump out of the chair with half a haircut? I should have. I don't understand the disconnect with the salon and their Instagram. I was looking for a chin length edgy modern bob for my curly hair. What I got is pretty darn near a buzz cut (she did, in fact, use clippers on the back) and the dye didn't even take at the nape of my neck. It's less than an inch long on the back and 4 inches in the front (when stretched- with the curls it is about 2-3 inches). It's so short in the back that my scalp is exposed and the cut in the front is uneven with the hair longer on the side with the part. It's the worst haircut I have ever had in my entire life and is going to take at least 6 months for it to grow to the length I was asking for. There is no "fixing" this. I am due a refund for this awful hack job and am flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism of this salon- literally ghosting an unhappy customer. Are we still in high school?

After getting several terrible haircuts back to back at Barber shops in the area, I decided I would…read moresuck it up and try a Salon... Glad I did. I believe the Gentleman's name was Steve, I didn't quite catch it but wow did he do a great job. I have difficult hair, it's very soft, fine and there's a lot of it. Cut it wrong and it sticks up in 15 different places. For once I don't have to use product to glue everything into a shape. One of the worst parts about moving to a new area for me is finding a barber, and the best one in the area in my eyes works here (he's obviously not a barber, he's a hair stylist 100%, but you get what I'm trying to say). When it came time to pay, I asked what the damage was, and he said "$27." I was expecting at least 50 if not 100+, obviously left a 150% tip. I'll be back for sure... Thanks again, you did an incredible job, definitely setting the bar high. If there are any dudes out there reading this in a similar debacle suck it up and give it a try... See you in a few weeks

But if you are looking for experience, technique and a haircut you'll love within a budget this is definitely the place for you! I have really LONG hair and Scott took the time to hear my concerns and wants. I grow my hair to donate, so needed it cleaned up, but to keep as much length as possible for now. He trimmed, layered and made it look like i hadn't been neglecting it for months.. haha He took extra care with drying it so I wouldn't freeze in the subzero temps. I plan to go back to him for my big chop in the summer and will post pictures then!!
