Would give Tasha 6 stars if I could. I get nervous EVERY-TIME I cut my hair but I definitely don't with her. We had great conversation and I got multiple compliments on my hair as soon as I left. She was such a perfectionist in all the best ways. She asked how I was feeling each step of the cut. I felt (and still feel) like a million bucks. The salon is stunning and definitely covid-safe. The staff did a great job with sanitation/masks and all that jazz. Three words to describe New Leaf: Reliability, Talent-Filled, and Hospitality. I have been going to New Leaf for 4 years. I have had a few horror stories in the past - wrong hair color, streaky highlights, choppy layers, you name it. With blond hair, I found it difficult to find a stylist who could find a color match that wasn't too yellow or ashy and Jenn got it right on the first try. This was my go to salon in college at RWU then I got the chance to return last night for bridal party hair. Well my hair turned out lovely as did the bride and most of the bridal party except for one, the last girl's hair we had to redo. We were told we would be together but then the hair stylists started to work on other clients and we were all separated. The had mistakenly told the bride there was a bridal suite when she booked but it was closed down the year prior. This is such a pleasant place to be. Everyone there is warm and welcoming. It is stylish like salons in Boston or NYC, but as I overheard a client say yesterday "like a NYC salon, but without the attitude". It made me smile. I love going to NYC and as a lifelong New Yorker and newbie to Rhode Island I totally understood what she meant. At New Leaf you can just relax, trust that your hair will turn out great, and chat or not - whatever you feel at the time. My magician - Sandra - and I have great chats, good laughs, but she knows I am also plowing through magazines I would never bother buying for myself. It's all good. We met when I made an appointment hoping someone could save me from a horrible color job from a Newport salon and my poor decision to go with bangs. (Come on we have all done it at some point). She saved my color on the first visit and has steadily cured my bangs issue over the last few months. I have never been to this hair salon before and i had received a gift certificate for Christmas so i asked around for a recommendation on a hair stylist considering I just had moved back not too long ago. I got recommended to Sandra and at first I wasn't going to write a review but I can't help but still feel really upset with how my hair turned out. I went in for a color and cut. My hair color came out really nice but as for my cut, not what I asked for at all. I told her i wanted a trim and long layers, just to get rid of my dead ends so she had showed me with her fingers the length she recommended which was at my armpit crease. Now, I'm not sure if she was distracted but she cut my hair above my shoulders!! I never once told her to do that! I didn't even notice how short it was until she was done blow drying my hair and I mean at that point nothing I say will fix the situation but i was just mortified. I cried that entire day and not only that, I had a wedding the next day to attend and just didn't know what to do with my hair. Im not one to get upset when it comes to my hair but I've tried so hard to grow it out and I just never been so upset with someone when we specifically agreed on a certain length and not once talked about cutting above the shoulders! On top of all that, I received an email about referring a friend and a new client getting some discount. I was so confused so I called the salon when I got home and asked why I wasn't offered this discount and the girl told me I have to ask for it... I'm sorry but how am I suppose to ask for something I never knew about? At any business that offers a new client discount I ALWAYS get offered it any where I go. New leaf, indeed. This is the best haircut and salon experience I've had since moving to RI over three years ago, and seeing as I've tried several, that's saying something. Yes, you have to haul yourself down to Bristol, but that's hardly anything to complain about as New Leaf is located on one of the most charming streets in the most charming neighborhood. I mean, Persimmon is across the street, for crying out loud. It's lovely, just like the salon itself. Open, airy, modern and spacious, everything is laid out beautifully and in a way that provides privacy for the client, which I like. A lot. My appointment with Jen C began promptly, and started with a consult during which I knew she was listening. She asked questions, made suggestions and explained what she was planning to do. She also gave me a shampoo and luxurious scalp massage with Moroccanoil products, which I happen to love and use at home, and then whisked me away to a quiet corner to start her work. The way in which she cut my hair was remarkable - I have extremely thick hair that falls somewhere between a wave and a curl, and the last cut I got left me with awkward bang-like thinks that simply didn't work. So, Jen began with an all over shaping while my hair was wet, and then put me under this amazing dryer that uses hot lights rather than blown air to get it dry. Then, she came back in and snipped according toy curl pattern, thinning and shaping as she went. She even managed to blend the bang thinks into the rest of my hair. The end result is something flattering, stylish and (most importantly) easy to manage and simple to style. Love. The whole thing cost me less than $40. You just cannot beat that. New Leaf also sells an assortment of fantastic hair and skin care products: Moroccanoil, Bumble & Bumble, Dermalogica and Becca to name a few. I scooped up a really cute cosmetics pouch in the adjoining boutique, which is full of scarves, dresses & accessories. Hello to my new favorite hair salon! I had a true Spring awakening after Stacey made my sad hair happy again with bright highlights and a fresh cut. I've received more compliments on my hair style than I can ever recall. The salon itself is modern and pleasant and the products are very high quality, although a bit pricey (no regrets on that Oribe texturizing spray I bought though!). Okay, So I have been going to this salon for roughly 4 years or so. I have had so many great experiences here. I have gotten up do's, cuts, styles, blow drys, you name it. I remain loyal to Mel and she has always put the health of my hair before anything. I basically let her do whatever she wants, I really trust her as a stylist. New Leaf is one of the more high-end salons in Bristol, in my opinion. The interior is professional, modern, and appealing. Ohh, you also put your feet up when getting your hair washed and receive a complimentary scalp massage. These girls really do a great job. It may seem a bit pricey (for the area)...roughly $50 for a cut and style not including a tip. But I feel as though it is worth it. read more

Everyone's services went really smoothly, the nail salon downstairs was so cute and spacious and I was really satisfied with both the mani and pedi. Jenn C is excellent. She doesn't treat you like a number, but actually listens to you as she would a friend. She has wonderful customer service skills and I always come out very happy with my cut. Jenn C looks very stylish and keeps up with the latest trends. She always gives great advice and you really can't beat the $40. I would advise other hair stylists, even at this salon, to make small talk and invest in the time it takes to earn loyalty. Not all of them do that. Friday afternoon I got to leave work early and decided I was overdue for a cut - although I've been growing my hair out, it is very split and needed some love. Before I even got to my car I called New Leaf on the off chance they might have some availability in the afternoon. They had an appointment open 30 minutes from when I called, and I grabbed it. I didn't have to wait long, about 5 minutes - and there is a waiting area to sit in, or you can browse their cute little boutique off to the side of the salon - necklaces, bracelets, handbags, wallets, dresses, head bands - you name it, they had it for sale. Good thing I have willpower, otherwise my spontaneous trip to New Leaf would have really damaged my wallet. Rachel was my stylish and she did a great job - she worked with me and my specific needs ( I use henna to naturally color my hair, and regular shampoo and conditioner is a no-go). She listened to what I wanted and had me washed, cut, and blow dryed in about 35 minutes. Complementary makeup session with onsite make up artist is included in your service, but I took a rain check on my visit. Over all with tip it was a $52 cut, a little pricey but not too bad for once and a while. Plus I left the salon feeling like Mandy Moore, so whats not to love! I will be back! read more

After moving out of state three years ago, I still look forward to going back to Bristol and get my hair and nails done at New Leaf. The decor is fresh and soothing, the service is always wonderful, they are VERY invested in making sure you're satisfied, and as soon as you walk in it feels like you're among goddesses - every single person who works there is beautiful and extremely friendly! I would trust any of them to make me look my best. They also are active in the community and do a lot of charitable events, which I respect and admire. Additionally, their bridal suite is really something special. A few years ago I had the pleasure of being styled there as a member of a wedding party, and it was the perfect way to start the day. They greeted us with champagne, strawberries, and calm, cool demeanors that put everyone at ease on the big day. Everyone looked gorgeous! Since then they have remodeled their bridal suite to make it even more cozy and private. I recommend this place to every bride I know. Lastly, New Leaf is a fun place to go and shop! This is the best salon for cuts and color in RI. I have extremely high standards for who can do my hair after mostly nightmares with other places. Amanda is *the* person to go to if you have a head full of curls. Amanda is so good that I go to her exclusively, and I booked New Leaf to do my entire wedding party (15 hair, 10 makeup, 1 flower girl hair and makeup). My wonderful but extremely critical Jewish mom drove up from NJ for a hair trial, certain she was going to hate it. Janelle did the style so perfectly to the picture that my mom was speechless (this has never happened before...ever). Amanda worked with my curls and did my hair so perfectly. All my friends had so much fun and regularly tell me it was the best hair and makeup they've ever had for a wedding. The entire team was on time and done ahead of schedule. I'm sitting in Amanda's chair now getting some color and a cut. For someone who doesn't know what she wants, she always so perfectly advises me. Nobody would know I get my hair colored; I love the natural look she always achieves. I love that they use high quality products but also never try to sell me anything. I highly recommend booking far in advance if you want an evening or weekend slot. The prices are similar to other nice salons in the state, and you get what you pay for. I drive to Bristol 40 minutes from Providence every 6 weeks, and it's totally worth it. I have been going to New Leaf for over a year and always have fantastic cuts with Danielle. She is so talented and awesome at her job. I always leave feeling like a million bucks and love her work. She's also just about the only nice person who works in the salon. After a year of being treated like dirt by the reception staff, I am DONE with this place. They are rude beyond imagination, talk down to you, hang up on you when you call in and act like it's my privilege to so much a speak with them. As a professional, the last thing I want after work is to encounter an obnoxious, stuck up college kid acting like it's awful to have to provide basic customer service. I never left the salon without buying either product or something from their boutique. I spent a lot of money here along with my boyfriend who was a regular as well, but none of that seemed to make a difference in the way I have always been treated.
