The airplane-themed play structure has truly unique features that kids will love, plus exercise equipment for grown-ups -- and there's a super special bonus for kids who love transportation. Definitely put this artsy, historic Seattle neighborhood on your route.  1. The unusual, two-story, globe-shaped merry-go-round spins and doubles as a climber with cargo netting all around. Hop inside or climb up the outside. 2. A totally fun hydraulic descending platform thingy is a little hard to describe but enthralling to kids. Children step onto a small, circular platform with a central pole (with hand-holds) and the platform slowly descends to the ground under their weight. Once the child steps off, the platform slowly rises back to its starting position. 3. A cargo net climber and other climbing elements encourage balance and age-appropriate risk-taking. There's as a small rock-climbing ramp for younger kids, a stretch of enormous, twisting rope, fabric platforms and a curving blue slide. 4. Flexible rubber "ramps" are irresistible to young climbers. One has hand-holds for littler kids. Scramble up these pathways to hop on and ride the hydraulic descender. 5. Colorful bells, a huge xylophone and other giant musical instruments invite sensory play. 6. Swings! The spacious swing set features two accessible swings, two regular swings and two baby swings. 7. Exercise equipment for grown-ups (and teens) means you can squeeze in a little workout while your kids go bananas on all the cool play structures. Try the elliptical trainer. There is also a tennis court and while it doesn't look like it was part of the renovation, it appears totally serviceable. A half-court basketball court invites shooting baskets, and a huge soccer field hosts official games for teams of all ages but is also open for public play at other times. These highlights are just the beginning of the fun features at this park. Pathways are accessible and there are new benches adjacent to the play area. The spray park, and there is a small covered picnic area and other seating, plus a restroom. Transportation bonus: Train tracks run right by the park and the Georgetown neighborhood's proximity to Boeing Field mean planes fly in low and loud. It's great fun for the young transportation buff. So I walked into the cesspool of all bathrooms and to my amazement in this most grotesque places, I discovered 2 condom machines. I felt all warm hearted knowing someone could walk in here and practice safe sex in a toilet. I'm not sure whom I would have Carnal Knowledge in this restroom but it's appears many do. Well, as I gagged at the aromatic smells I did take the time to get a photo prior to my escape. An no I don't not make a purchase. Back to the fields, both are newer turf but it's kinda beat up. But at least it's not dirt fields. Lights aluminate the field for night games so no worry's about playing at night. Well, if your cruising in the valley and need to glove up now you have a late night location to purchase some live gloves for your date.

On a weekend in the fall, it only seemed to be used for locals to ride their dirt bikes on and was otherwise generally empty. My main "eh" was that it doesn't seem to be a safe area as Rainier Ave seemed fairly dicey and while they do have a playset, it's the most remarkable thing about the space. If you're in the area, Seward Park is a much better bet, and overall I'd skip this park unless you're here for soccer with a group.

That's the moorage itself. Don't expect to pack a picnic with a view of the water. That doesn't mean Leschi Park is anything to sneeze at. It's sizable with a portion that is well manicured and good for a picnic. There are several benches in this area and some portions are shady. When we went, the rose hedges were blooming and quite pretty. There's also a sequoia that was dedicated to the head gardener from 65 years ago. There are a few tennis courts too. The parts that I like more are the trails that have a forest vibe. Leschi Park is adjacent to Frink Park; together, they form a very large area to explore. I didn't find much signs or maps so I just used Google maps to choose walking paths. Cell signal was solid inside both parks. On a hot day, these two tree filled parks provide lots of shade; they would be an excellent place to visit.

Leschi Park is small, and most who visit are here for the views, as it's off of Lake Washington, so you can see the eastside and I-90. There's a small covered seating area and a dock for boaters. It's cool that there are a few restaurants and businesses nearby, as well as a parking lot. It's walking distance to the residential area and the Madrona neighborhood. If you're looking to access the water, I would recommend the short walk up north along the trail to Madrona Beach Park, which is larger and is more popular. However, Leschi Park is here for when you want more of a private, quiet scene, just for the views. Not a bad spot at all.

At least, from the outside, it looks great. Yesler Terrace Park About the park itself, it's a very cool park. Covered in artificial turf without the gritty bits (or maybe those are all rubbed off by now), the playsets are inviting and well maintained in excellent condition. During our visit, multiple families and children were playing here. Always a good sign for the park! This adult may or may not have went down the slides a few times. I'm not telling. The 10th Avenue S Hillclimb Located slightly south of the park, these stairs connect the housing community to the International District. It's WONDERFULLY designed with a central set of stairs (north-south), a bike groove, and a ramp walk (east-west) decorated with glass mosaic art. This is a must visit to enjoy these art. Hoa Mai Gardens Between the Hilclimb and park is Hoa Mai Gardens. The Gardens itself is a community p-patch, nothing exciting, but there is additional mosaic art here with ladybug theme. Other notes: - Enjoy the view while standing above the park or along Fir Street and see the stadiums and beyond. - Enjoy the many art pieces and murals that dot the community. - I suggest doing the walk that cuts through between Yesler & Fir, 8th and Broadway diagonally also. On a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of Mount Rainier as you lounge under a tree and look out over Lake Washington. It is a very simple park located on Lake Washington just south of Seward Park. With a very large green lawn, you could do any sort of activity here. Other than just a few picnic tables, trails and cut grass, you won't find much else. The beach area is a good distance from where you park and kept in a fairly natural state, yet easy for people to sit and enjoy. It's the perfect little neighborhood get-away for a contemplative stroll or a romantic picnic with views out over Lake Washington.

Our daughter is two now and she LOVES this place. Huge slides, lots of things to climb, good neighborhood, wide open grass space. It is some steps aways for the parking lot and playground but not that far. Part of it is under a tree, giving it perfect shade on those hot days. I think there are only 2 benches side by side, but you can always sit down on a concrete part near the pool. In fact, it was the perfect spot when the ice cream truck came on the street behind it and played it's song. We ran towards it. It was the perfect treat for the summer...and by the pool! Great for kids. They even get card now a days :D Very friendly families so kids can play with each other and share toys :)

My grandparents bought land in this area (Wedgwood) in the 1940s and built their own house. The…read moreland and house is still owned by family and the Dahl Playfield is a nearby field of choice when going for a walk from the house. When my mom was growing up this was a playfield she visited. In my lifetime, the Dahl Playfield has been a place I have visited for sports and as a place to go and meander and/or play with my family. The playfield is much greener than it used to be, the wading pool has remained the same. The skate park is a relatively new addition. It is not a park where I have felt unsafe in my visits. In my experience the fields, trails, wading pool, and playground have all been well maintained. There is a parking lot where you can park your vehicle if driving to the park on the 25th Avenue NE side of the park. My mom and my most recent visit to the playfield on 23 June 2020 after visiting the Wedgwood house we walked through the park and reminisced about how it has changed over the years. Lots of kiddos when we visited, tis the summer season though.

They can really exercise with them :) It gets funnier by the middle of the pool with them :) Perfect depth to swim :) Clean water. Kids can also have some fun by the playground or sandpit! It has lots of toys inside it. They have to work a bit to get them out. I wish parks and Rec could have them out most of the time. At the same time is a good way to preserve them? :D Restrooms are just a few steps by the pool :) Don't forget not to run by the pool. Parking was easy this time just infront of the wading pool by a shade :) Cars coming both ways in narrow streets.
