We were fans of the Surfside Tap Room, although it had its share of issues (food was one of them) and could have been a much better place to hang-out but alas the pandemic wiped them out and the property sold for a cool $2.2 mil in 2021. Now, BEERTOWN is here and I hope here to stay! Wow, not only do they 35+ beers on tap, they have a large selection of canned and bottled beverages, from colas to margaritas. And the kicker? They have FOOD. The menu is eclectic, as in all over the place, but in a good way. There literally is something for everyone here, from simple mac n' cheese to brisket-stuffed poblano peppers. Grilled fish tacos, coconut shrimp, sliders, beer-glazed blue cheese burgers - you name it, it's a variety of different things to hit your palate. Best of all? The food is actually quite good! We ordered: * Fish & Chips ($18) * Cubano Sammich ($15) * Blackened Mahi Burger ($18) * Vegetarian Black Bean Burger ($16) * BeerTown Pretzel Bites ($10) * Two beer flights (4 beers each) * Two Towns "Plum As You Are" Cider (8% ABV) * Bell's Best Brown Ale (5.8% ABV) All of the food was excellent but the Fish & Chips stole the show in my opinion. So flaky, hot and delicious. Fries are good too (they have 3 flavors to choose from). The jalapeno slaw that came with the fish was a little dry and flavorless, however. Not terrible, just not great. Add a bit more mayo and salt and you're good to go. We also had the pretzel bites, which came with stone-ground mustard and "beer cheese". The beer cheese needs more flavor - more beer or more cheese. Just add something man! The beers were all great. Their beer menu does slant a little more towards the IPA spectrum, which is great if you like IPAs (but I don't usually). Service was excellent. These folks are really nice. We learned earlier that the main cook had up and quit that morning so a manager/owner had to fill in but we didn't notice anything. The service, food & beer were all fantastic. We had already make plans with our friends to come back. When you make plans to come back while you're still there, that says something. Had me coming back for more! Located right off the 101 in north Oceanside. If you like good food, good drinks, and good vibes... this is a place for you! Try the cajon fries!!!! Great location, great open windows for lots of natural sunlight, beer selection was awesome, and the food was ON POINT! omg the food! We came back for the pineapple happy hour bowls on Tuesday which were pretty good too. Always find a new beer to obsess over as well. Very well rounded fun place. Made it point to returnstop, order to take home a breakfast burrito w/brisket to share with my husband. The breakfast burrito itself is $13.00 but if you want to add the meat additions it's as follows: Brisket - $2.00, Pullee Chicken $1.00 and Pulled Pork. I went with the brisket. The meat was cooked to perfection and when adding this to the burrito w/eggs, fries, avocado, pepper jack, beertown beer cheese & Pico de Gallo...yummy. We came here for hubby's birthday. We have been wanting to come here for some time. The weather was gorgeous. The beer, wine, and sliders were great. We ordered the Cuban sandwich. The waiter mentioned that they don't skip and it's a big sandwich. Yay! 35 to 40 minutes later as everyone else is getting their food... our server asks if we'd like anything else. We responded with... the Cuban sandwich. He said he completely forgot. We asked for the check. When we got the check, he said that he would make up for it next time. This is an awesome spot for HH. Staff is friendly, service is fast, and prices are on point. Came here to grab a beer and some food we went with the sliders and fries, onion rings, and mahi tacos. They had live music and it was not crowded at all. We even were able to bring our puppy. Plenty of space indoor, bar area, and outdoor. The mahi tacos were excellent and the $11 for 3 sliders and fries were good. The fries were alright but it's just fries. They do a good job with their meats. I had an okay experience here at first. It was on a Saturday. Spent about 2 to almost 3 hours having fun with a group of friends. We decided to go to a few other bars. I did have a few drinks so I decided to ask the bartender (Zane) if I could leave my car here as I head to other places to drink. He said it was okay. I got consent to park here. I left after sundown, so it was after 8 and before 9. I came back around midnight and I found that my car was towed. I had to spend 26 dollars on a Lyft and and then 390 dollars at the tow services to get my car back. I called the manager (Ryan) to tell him about what had happen, and that I had permission to park; but, they towed me anyways. He said he would make it right, but its been three weeks and haven't receive any kind of reimbursement or anything to rectify. Not sure I wanna to drink at a place that would tow your car the same night (not even the morning of, zero car for patrons). Just want to inform anyone that read this, that this establishment doesn't have any consideration to patrons or customers. This place seems like they don't keep their word or worst, expect you to drink and drive. read more

Come for the great selection of beer, stay for the delish food. This is a great casual spot that is still totally walkable from downtown Oceanside. Hop on a bike, or stroll right on over to this tucked away in plain sight spot. I was curious about the Cubano, as I'm always on the lookout for something that takes me back to the Cuban classics of Miami. I've had Cubanos around San Diego county that were good, this was the best I've had outside of Miami!! The server told us that the chef spent time in Miami and you can taste it with this one!! Get it - it's legit! I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy gobbling up the goodness. Yum!!! All of the food that we saw coming out to other tables looked and smelled drool worthy too! Beertown is so much more than beer. They also have craft non-alcoholic and spiked seltzers, there's wine too. Seems like there is something for everyone here. This place is a gem. Amazing beer selection of things I haven't been able to find in SoCal. Love that they are doing something unique here and showcasing a wide variety of good beers from all over.. there's not really anywhere else like it in Oceanside.. or San Diego! Reminds me a bit of my favorite beer bar in Oakland - Beer Revolution. Just quieter with nicer staff The food? Omfg. The bomb bomb. Cuban sandwich was probably the best I've ever had. Apparently the chef spent some time in Florida, and damn it tastes like it. Pretzel bites were made with one of the beers on tap. Free and ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, lots of places to post up. They have cold brew coffee on nitro from modern times for those who just need a lil pick me up. Delicious and so creamy from the nitro. To top it all off, they've curated one of the most legit playlists. If you ask, they may even show you where to find it on Spotify over 24 hours of really great vibes.
