Worst Beggars in the area. Not sure why we try them again and again... apparently we are soft. They apparently can't hire anyone that can read an order when making the pie. Person taking the order reads it back perfectly. Get the pizza and it's not close to being right. Maybe this is why they have more 1 ratings than any other. I haven't been home in a while and I was really craving some familiar pizza. Beggars popped up on my nearby search along with Aurelio's, Sanfratellos etc. I chose Beggars. I'm not familiar with the area and it was a little hard to find upon arrival because the store didn't have any lit and noticeable signage. $14 for a small cheese pizza (that was cut in triangles smh) and had the taste of an undercooked frozen pizza. I ate two pieces and threw the rest away. I've never been to this location before but I don't think they're doing it right. Hmmm. We have always liked the pizza (it was our go to) and it seems they may have changed up the crust. Too bad. The crust seems premade and likely came from frozen. The holes in the bottom give it away as do the lines around the edge. It's thicker too and dry. Time for a new local pizza if this crust sticks around. read more

12.31.2020 We ordered pizza at 5:03 pm. Received confirmation and follow up phone call for clarification. My husband got there at 5:50 paid and then waited for another 30 minutes only to be told our order was " lost". The said no cash refund offered a discount then later retracted that statement, their only solution was to deliver it. So my husband returned home. 7:45pm we called as our delivery was not here yet. The manager said someone was there on premises picking up our order.. not sure what kind of absurd errors, lies or shenanigans occurred but we didn't get out Pizza until 8:05pm. I don't recommend this Beggars. The first time I came in which was about a month ago, I was literally standing there waiting to place an order for slices for about 20 minutes because the girl was on the phone taking a phone order. When I walked in there was another girl there, I asked if she could help me and she just said no you have to wait for her. I should have just left and not gone back. Today just went in again for slices, only for all the pizza racks to be empty. There's a sign upon walking in that literally says "slices served all day". I asked if they had slices anyway, the same girl says let me check and comes back and says sorry we've been busy we don't have any. It's only 12:30 pm. So then I said well do you have any pizzas? Someone else returned a pizza that wasn't his and the employee thought nothing about handing that same pizza to its rightful owner. He refused it and instead wanted a refund. Beggars pizza makes the best pie. Unfortunately, The Dyer location has a huge problem with quality control. For example, last nights pizza was missing cheese (nothing but red sauce) on the entire side. It was obvious when I opened the box and should have been obvious to whoever boxed it up. I've also received pizzas that have been burnt from this location. My problem is, they do not seem to care about the quality of pizza they are serving for takeout. I give this place 4 stars and not 5 only because the pizza is good, but it's not THE best I've ever had. Nevertheless, I do really enjoy their pizza, and it's only about a 1 min walk from my house, so I think it gets a star based on convenience. The sauce on the pizza is different than I'm used to, it tastes more like fresh tomatoes, which I'm a big fan of, but others might not be if they're used to the sweeter sauces on most chicago style pizza. I've had their Deep Dish, Stuffed, and Thin Crust, and they're all good, but I recommend the Deep Dish above the others. I find it impossible to give any pizza 5 stars, but if there was a 1/2 option, Beggars in Dyer would have 4.5 stars, for sure. The pizza, being "Beggars," is fabulous, and I highly recommend the boneless chicken wings with the buffalo sauce on the side. I, like the previous Yelper, also recommend the deep dish pizza, and I agree that the sauce (which is made from fresh tomatoes) may be off-putting to some as it is not sweet.
