WAY too much cheese on their pizza. Literally can't taste anything else. The cheese is 3x thicker than the bottom crust of the pizza . Teenage staff there gives you dirty looks like you're desperate for waiting to dine in. The pizza was good, but not as good as I remember. Living so far away from an Aurelio's, i really missed the pizza... but I guess time takes it's toll. They had a bunch of gnats that really liked our table (enough that i covered my drink with a napkin), the waitress wasn't around much and the pizza was just okay... to top it off something really got to me and I started sneezing and nose started to run. Where I'm from, Aurelio's reigns supreme. Everyone talks about their pizza and most of my family and friends rank it as their favorite in the world. I have to say, it's in my top 3. The sauce is what really seals the deal. If you like sweet sauce, this is the place for you. It's also thin crust with just the right amount of crisp. For me, I looove their sausage. A good sausage is really important to me on my pizza. I'd highly recommend going into the restaurant because that's when the pizza is best; however, after my last experience, I wouldn't recommend due to service. We'd never had service issues like we did the other night. Our waitress would actively look away from us so she wouldn't have to bring us more of anything. It was pretty frustrating when all our drinks had been empty for about a half hour and we had to flag down someone else's waitress at one point. Thankfully, the delicious pizza and other amiable staff members made up for this unfortunate customer service experience. As far as locations go, the Crete one is also solid and so is the original Homewood one. Give it a try if you're near Chicago! read more

We literally put the phone on speaker every time we call hoping that one time will get somebody who is professional and polite. If I could give you a 0, I would. Our delivery order was scheduled at 8:09 (1 hour), I reached out at 8:31 and they said they were on their way. At 8:47, 20 minutes later, I reached back out again, and they said it was on the way. 1 hour and 40 minutes past the time I ordered. I tipped in advance, that will not happen again. The manager is in the background saying if you do not get the delivery in 5 minutes, call me back, and then they turned their phones off. They close at 9, but they turned their phones off early, so I have no resolution, except cold wilted lettuce (Taco) pizza that was delivered 50 minutes late. You should be embarrassed by this, but you seem to relish in it. 2.5 miles away from my address. I have understanding for the sole delivery driver that still had pizzas to deliver after us...this is directed at the Manger of the location that does not want accountability. The past 2 times we have TRIED to eat here (6 months apart), we were strongly discouraged by the teenagers working the front counter. Both times, there was a sign posted on the front door they are short staffed; ok. So the first time we were told the ding room closes as 6:30 (it was 6:25 pm); we left. I noted she did not take my name, never said another word to me. I had the distinct feeling (similar to the time before) that they wished we would just leave. There was one family of 3 ahead of us. The next couple that came in faced the same routine but were told a 25 minute wait, they huddled in the vestibule with us. Next, an elderly couple came in; they were told a 30-35 minute wait they left. Next, a party of 13 walks in, and are told a 5-10 minutes wait! Um what? The 25 minute couple & I met each other's gaze, both thinking "um what?". Mind you the whole 10-15 wait we were there the 3 girls behind the desk are chatting amongst each other, there is a lady slaving away by herself making pizzas and bus boy and wait staff working diligently to serve the half full dining room. Soooo after a minute of contemplation, we decided to leave being pretty convinced that we would be punished with bad service for staying and most definitely would be ordering behind the party of 13 that walked in several groups behind us. Such a shame, this is a place my parents took me to growing up and it holds a lot of memories for me. We walked out as did the 25 minute couple. This place just really bums me out. I used to like their pizza but it seems like every time I have it, it tastes different. So inconsistent! I'll stick to the original location in Homewood. What is consistent is the service, which is not good. It was not the fault of the waitress, the poor lady was the ONLY waitress there working 3 rooms that were FULL!!! What the heck?!?! She was nice and tried hard but because they didn't have adequate staffing it was a bad night. She brought us our food but we never go checked on after and I was so thirsty that my hubby got up and went to the front asking for a refill. There was no parmigiana cheese on the table which we like. It was on everyone else's... Didn't have a chance to ask for it and we gave up. When I finally got my refill I was worried it might not be diet (I'm diabetic and had enough carbs already) but the waitress couldn't remember and got me a different drink so she was 100% sure that it was. I ordered Aurelio's pizza last night for delivery and was pleased overall however there are some factors that I will note. First our order was for a large thin crust sausage and pepperoni pizza. I asked specifically that the crust be crispy as that's how my wife likes her pizza. When the pizza arrived the receipt did note that it requested a crispy crust (see receipt in photo) however the crust we received was very soft. My order also contained a medium stuffed spinach and tomato pizza. This pizza was cooked to perfection. I like how this pizza was not cut. I presume that is saved for the consumer because a ride in a delivery car with a sliced stuffed pizza would result in the contents being spread throughout the entire box. I'm giving four stars today for two reasons...one because of the mistake with the thin crust crispy request and secondly for what seems to be the norm as far as delivery with this restaurant. On Friday or Saturday nights it always seems that the delivery time during peak hours is between 90 minutes and one hour and 45 minutes. This was the timeframe I was quoted last night and although they stayed with in that timeframe I would order from this restaurant more if they could deliver faster. I am not saying that I would be a daily customer, but I can say that at least 10 times in the last year I wanted to order from this restaurant but made the decision to go with another pizza place based upon the timeframe for delivery. read more

I love Aurelio's. I grew up eating at the Homewood location. We have been ordering from Schererville for a long time. A couple of weeks ago I tried to order and they didn't answer. I figured that the phone lines were down. I tried to order again yesterday. I was hung up on 5 times! I decided to send an email to see if it was the phone lines (you never know- it could be). I received an email back and they told me that they were busy and not answering the phones. I was surprised. I wonder if that is the franchise owner's policy. Since the new management took over, this Aurelio's is ON FIRE. Never a bad pie, either take out or dine in. The service is fabulous. You can count on consistency, crust is always perfect, the sauce is unbelievable, the antipasto salad is delicious. One improvement would be to get better lettuce. Add some spring mix to the iceberg.... We had been going here for over 35 years, but quit between 2008 - 2014. Everything has improved so much...even the bathrooms. The women's bathroom is in a horrible place however...smack in the middle of the din8g room, very gross. Overall, an A+! read more

Another local pizza chain that's been around for ages. I like Aurelio's, but Old Mill Pizzeria is still my favorite in this area. Aurelio's, to me, is not the most memorable pizza; however, it's consistently good and high quality, so you know what you'll get every time. Many people seem to be a fan of their 7 meat something..It's a specialty pizza with 7 different types of meat. The service tends to vary by location, but pretty good in general. Aurelio's has shimmied its way into my number one favorite pizza spot. Maybe absence does make the heart grow fonder. However, presence makes my tummy grow fatter. I've been coming to this place for many, many years. It's always consistent in its quality, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I would say the place is usually fairly clean. They also make it really easy to get carry-out - you don't even have to go into the restaurant part of the building which cuts down on crowded lines. My three favorite things on the menu here are the thin crust cheese pizza, stuffed cheese pizza, and the cheese sticks. There's a cheese theme here, I guess. I've never tried their pasta, but I'm definitely willing to. As far as the pizza goes, it's a little on the salty side, but the sauce is sweet and cancels that out somewhat. read more

Well I must say this is my first time stopping here, out of all the times I've seen this place I've never gave it a thought not til today. I ordered a medium sausage cheese and pepperoni thin crust and a side salad. The pizzas had great flavor, not to saucy, just enough cheese, crunchy just like i enjoy my thin crusts. The pizza was brought to the table pipping hot A+. The atmosphere was ok although there was a slight odor immediately when you came on the door and ironically for a restaurant there's only a 1 stall 1 door bathroom C-. The side salad i had was ok but the French dressing tasted like it had pineapples in it. The waitress was working the floor. I would go back because of the amazing tasting pizza. read more
