My first and last time in this location (evening of 3-24-2017). Our waiter gave us the wrong pizza and I decided to speak to the manager. I explained to the manager that my order was incorrect and that I was quoted 45 mins for a thick crust pizza and that's how long it took for my waiter to bring me a thin crust pizza which wasn't my original order (a thin crust takes way less to cook from my experience at other beggar's locations especially when the restaurant has only three occupied tables). When the manager arrived, I informed him of what happened, he basically looked at me and said "ok" in a cold and disbelieving manner like I was wasting his time or had something more important to do. He reluctantly apologized at the very end, offered a discount and said "it sometimes happens". My issue with the whole experience was that the manager didn't care when I brought up an issue at the restaurant that he's supposedly managing, I've only had to call a manger 3 times in my whole life and never have I ran into manger that was so unresponsive or looked at me like I was a complete idiot. read more

The pizza was great! can't never go wrong with having begged pizza. Probably one of the best pizzas in town or even in Chicago. Other than that one thing I didn't care for was eating the pizza at beggers. It was really hot and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend eating the pizza there. read more

went to new lenox location last night ordered a medium sausage,peparoni ,xtra sauce, well done. well they say we lay it on thick .they must have a new pizza maker who lays it on thin no xtra sauce barly any sausage or peparoni , dry dry I think a connies frozen pizza for 5 bucks is better they need a manager who does something or else out of buisnes like all the other resturants who skimp on there products read more

My family loves the Beggars in Blue Island so when this location opened up in New Lenox we were excited. Though I was not quite pleased, the pizza definitely tastes different. I had stopped in this place for drinks and appetizers years ago and recently attended a retirement party here. They have several rooms for small parties and it appears it can be opened up for a larger gathering. We had pizza, beer, wine and cake and everything was really good. The service was fine. And the food tasted ok.. but something I cannot let go of was the fact that heading home to Joliet Mall area from dinner here I couldn't make it home without finding a bathroom! I had stomach cramps and toilet visits all night. Never have I had something like that happen to me... anywhere. I called my family that was out with us the next day to see if anyone else had issues, while the other adults were not having any more issues "than normal after they eat there", my nephew had also been in the bathroom all night. Great pizza. The sauce is very flavorful, crust is superb, and toppings are plentiful. The service in the bar area is always great. I only wish there were more specialty pizzas to choose from on the menu. There's a few good odds and ends (taco, vegetarian, cheeseburger), but no offerings like supreme or meat lovers. A chicken or italian beef pizza offering would be great too since they're already offered as toppings. We've tried a couple sandwiches (godfather!) and they were both excellent too. I am sure Im not the only one who comes there at lunchtime, so telling me I have to wait 20 minutes for a slice is pretty ridiculous. I was surprised to find that there was a listing for every Beggar's except their New Lenox location. Funny... Anyway, I've been visiting this location a few times a week for the last couple years. The pizza is decent, though it's nothing to shout about. If you like your pizza brown like I do then make sure to order yours well done because Beggar's pizza is very cheesy and it doesn't always come out as done as I want it (as their motto says, "We lay it on thick.") There is a lot on their menu other than pizza and, surprisingly, alot of it is better than their pizza. The Italian beef sandwhiches are just about to-die-for and they dish out a pretty mean burger as well. I've tried every one of their appetizers and while there have been a couple I could take or leave most of them definitely provide great snacking. Half of the restaurant is divided by a full wall so smokers and non-smokers can both be seated happily. The smoking half of the establishment is actually fashioned as a bar (which is fully stocked) and it actually has a great feel of being it's own environment independent from the restaurant. This is helped by the fact that you don't need to go through the restaurant to get to the restroom facilities. Tables near the bar are higher with more of a "stool" feel where in the back of the bar the tables are lower and longer. This helps to cater to both 20-30 something drinkers who come in with friends and to families who come in with kids. Being a smoker, the bar is the area of the establishment that I frequent. I have been going there rather steadily for the last couple years and the clintele in their bar area range from being young and hip to middle-age. This creates a nice balanced atmosphere in which you find yourself mingling with people you wouldn't normally run into. There is one very large television screen over the bar with two smaller sets on each side of the large one. Sports games are prominent on most of the screens. Another large set is located against the far wall in the back. One nice thing about the bar is the daily drink specials that run alongside monthly specials (Appleton rum and Coke this month-yum!). Higher tier beers on tap include Blue Moon, Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy and Hacker-Schorr. Mon-Wed is $1 domestic pints for those like myself who are on a budget after blowing all their cash over the weekend. The bartenders are all very cool also. I've seen alot of them come and go over time but I haven't disliked one of them. They're personable enough to carry on with yet they won't chat your ear off. The management is also very friendly, professional and good about being open to comments or suggestions. A jukebox (with capabilities to download specific songs) also lends to the atmosphere. Karaoke events create more of a loud, festive vibe on Monday nights and every other Wednesday. Ocassionally on Sunday nights, popular movies are screened over the bar. (Tommy Boy was a hoot!) These events and such make the establishment one of the better places to hang out in New Lenox. With better food and atmosphere than Papa Joe's and at less expense than Tom Kelly's or The Charlie Horse it's probably the best bang for your buck in this rapidly-growing town. read more

The first time we thought it was just an off night but again this evening the pizza is tasteless. We called & the lady that answered said they have not changed their sauce apologized and that was it. I ordered food to be delivered.My delivery was on time and the food was still nice and hot.I ordered 2 18inch pizzas,1was half pepperoni and sausage and the other one was sausage pepperoni mushrooms onion peppers and black olives.We all loved both pizzas.They were loaded with nice sized sausage pieces and chuck full of toppings.Tons of yummy cheese.Very good.We also ordered appetizers and were disappointed.Not so good.Cheese sticks and mini tacos were not good.Cheesy tots were just o.k..I will order from Beggars pizza again without appetizers. read more

We come here all the time, the pizza is delicious. The thin crust pizza still manages to be thick with all the chesse and ingredients. The appetizers are good, especially the little fried mac and cheese bites. Wish they would give you more. They have great drink speicals too. I came here with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate his niece's birthday. It was pretty good, but not really worth the price. I like that they had lagunitas beers and pretzel sticks. Ive been to other Beggars locations..... The service at this one was way better than some other locations. The bartender was super nice and personable. The food is good and inexpensive. Dave said they added gratuity to his bill but most resturants do that with 8 people. Its not the servers choice. I recommend giving this location a try. read more

Really nice and friendly atmosphere with fabulous service and great cleanliness. It was my first Beggars experience so the service and atmosphere made me happy and the pizza made me happier. Second best pizza around. Giordanos is still the best but they don't deliver to my house. So second best is more frequently ordered! Sandwiches here are great too. We've eaten here on many occasions. Staff is always friendly but sometimes a little neglectful on checking tables/drinks/pre busing. That's where they get the -1 star. I usually have to flag down someone to be noticed. I don't drink alcohol here so I have no idea about the bar. Definitely family friendly, but also a nice place for a date. Just don't expect too much attention from your server. read more

After crossing them off my list for several years, I received an invite to meet some friends there. I think the pizza from Beggar's is pretty yummy. I have had better, but it tastes good. My problem was one time I went in to eat in the actual restaurant for an early dinner with my family. And the wait staff totally ignored us. We sat around for 15 minutes waiting for them to take our drink order... There were only a handful of other tables in the whole place and plenty of employees. It took them another 20 minutes to bring out drinks... 3 diet sodas... not too complicated. And then I lost track of how long it took to get out cheese pizza, which arrived at our table at room temperature.... If you are going to get this place I would say don't dine in. read more

I had the worst pizza from this New Lennox location! The manager, Ahem was rude, would not make it right on Mothers Day no less! The pizza had no cheese on a quarter of the pizza! The customer service is completely lacking and the kitchen does not know how to time appetizers, pizzas and meals to come out at the same time. Our waitress was not only absent for most of our visit, but was also ignorant. We were the only table in the restaurant when we arrived. 3 appetizers could not be timed together. One came out, and when asked about the others, we were told they were working on it. It was 20 minutes later that they arrived. When we asked about not bringing out the pizza right away so we could eat the apps, the waitress said "you can finish that all in 5 minutes." We ordered 3 pizzas and one chicken wing dish. The pizzas came, but the waitress did not bring the chicken wings. We asked and she said she would check on it - but did not come back. One person was left waiting (she did not like pizza) for her food. Finally after 10 minutes, I went to look for her but she was nowhere to be found. I had to get the hostess to find her so my niece could get her food. When she finally came out with the wings, she did not say a word - no apology, no comment at all. I then said to her that it was unacceptable, but obviously she was already perturbed that the hostess had to go track her down. SHe ignored me, and when I said "fine just pretend like you are not hearing me' and then she said "OK." She did not return back to our table at all until the check came. Personally, I did not think she earned a tip, as her 15% could have gone way up - being it was dead in the restaurant and it was New Years Eve. I felt it should have gone way down, not only for the lack of decent service, but for the shitty attitude she had about serving us our food. The bill was $107, so it was not like it was just one pizza. My father decided to still give her a tip since it was New Years Eve. I don't care how good or bad your food is (this was not the best pizza anyway) - the service is also what brings people back. You can just about guess that I will not recommend this place, nor will I ever go back. If you do not like being a "server" - which is to serve your establishment's food - then get a job where you do not have to deal with people. If you work for tips, make sure you treat your customers with respect. Being shitty to people who ultimately pay your check is just wrong. read more
