Being new to the Lemont/ Lockport area and coming from the near west burbs, I'm looking to find a good pizza spot that isn't a chain. Nancy's is a consistently decent spot with a few caveats. But alas, a chain. Pizza at the Point.. bleh. Alright, onto the next joint. Tried this place out with my simple go-to topping duo-sausage/ onion. I do long-cut caramelized onions, and of course they couldn't accommodate. That's fine. Do you atleast just have long cut onion? No. Diced. Sigh... Expensive little pizza. Bitter sauce... or was it spoiling cheese? Either way, that was the over arching flavor profile--bitter. Microscopic onion bits. I thought the sausage was halfway decent. Wife felt it was dry. Ordered easy well, was announced as well done when I arrived to pickup, and was barely done. Sheesh. They couldn't even cover the entire pizza with cheese, as I had a washed out section with just sauce. "Well maybe it was a busy night and they were moving and shaking!" Nah. Dead Monday night, place was empty. They garnered a 2-star because their breaded mushroom app was pretty good. It honestly saved the evening, for me at least. But to put it in perspective and sum it up, my wife was coming home late and fiending for pizza. When we get a good pizza from somewhere, it's usually at least an 18" and it ends up demolished. This 16" thing was barely half eaten before everyone threw in the towel. The bitterness was overwhelming. Doughy and bitter tasting. I wasn't even going to leave a review but instead move on, but I combed through some of the reviews and quickly found somebody talking about the bitter flavor as well which prompted this. That's a wild flavor profile that you would never think to relate to pizza. Someone posted on a Lockport Facebook page asking what the best pizza spot was in the area. One of the commenters stated, "Doesn't exist." And I'm beginning to fear this is true. read more

Ordered pizza to go and waited at the bar had a few drinks. First time ever here and the staff was friendly. They have a nice bar to sit at and a lot room in the dining area. When it warms up it's kinda cool they have the option for big garage doors to open on a side wall. We ordered two 12in thin crust pizzas. One was a veggie which was good the thin crust held up to all the toppings compared to other places. The beef and giardiniera was good but there really wasn't much beef or giardiniera on it which was little bit let down but maybe it was just a one time thing. I want to start this review with saying, every single time I've had their food, it's been phenomenal. Great pizza, salads, and sandwiches. Anywhere they happen to be around town is great. 5 stars for their food. However, I've now dined-in at the new location 3 times in the last 6 months. Each time, the staggered food delivery has been all over the place and pretty frustrating. My first visit in June, 2 pizzas came out 15 minutes apart. The second time in August, pizzas were delivered 20 minutes before the sandwiches, and the 2 sandwiches were delivered 5 minutes apart. Last night, a salad entree was delivered with the appetizers, while sandwiches were later delivered...25 minutes before the pizza finally showed up! I've really never seen anything like it before. Each time, someone is either eating alone while the other person/people waits for their food. Or... they wait until the rest of the table is served and their food is cold. It makes for a frustrating group outing or date night. The first time I assumed it was working out the kinks of the new location. The second time I gave them the benefit of the doubt to an off night. But a third time, all being months apart, it seems to be an awful habit that really should be sorted out. Again, the food is always very much on par. The actual service has been fine. But the dine-in experience leaves a lot to be desired. Something needs to be sorted out in the kitchen. Eating TOGETHER as a group or with a date is kind of the whole point. We had terrible service the first time we went but food was good so we tried it again. Service was nonexistent except for the kind busboy who brought us the pizza box to take our leftovers home. The waitress was not friendly, didn't ask if we needed anything, took forever to follow up after we were done. First time at Villa Nova. We wanted to try the pizza which was really good. We like thin crust, tavern style which is what they serve. We would definitely go back for the pizza. The service was bad. Our waitress was taking care of several large groups on the patio, plus tables inside. We were sitting inside, so she barely came around. We wanted to order more drinks, but figured at this point it wasn't worth the wait! They sat an older couple (like us) in the same area inside next to us, and no one ever came to take their order. Villa Nova is among the best places in Lockport. Pizza is what they're known for but they have lots of Italian classics on the menu to choose from. The prices are pretty good for the portions and quality. Because I was alone I wasn't going to eat a whole pizza so an alternative was pasta, which happens to be cheap. It's $6.99 for a regular. This includes choice of sauce and toppings. Certainly it was cheap for as much as they pack into a portion. The sauce was also tasty with some sweetness along with some tanginess. Of course the pizza looks good but it's kind of expensive. There's a few more economical options if you're looking for something for a few people or so. Also has delivery. It has a limited zone and so that can't be commented on but of course a delivery charge and tip is to be expected. This is why dining in or picking up is a pretty good idea especially for those on a budget and interior has some old school charm so you'll have to go there. read more

The ambiance was good. The waiters were very kind, and along with taking food orders they made small talk. I was eating with a group of eight. We ordered a cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pizza which was more than enough to feed us all. The pepperonis were hidden under the cheese, however they were very crunchy and pleasant. They were also stacked so you could get three pepperonis all at once, which was nice. They had the football games playing to entertain the guests. I absolutely loved the decor of Villa Nova. The vibe was very modern and beautiful. The tables were clean when we came in, and looking at the outside there is a gorgeous front which gives fabulous atmosphere. The drinks were served with crushed ice that made it easier to drink because you didn't have to work your way around the large ice cubes. I have been coming here for years, I truly like their pizza their sausage is excellent Their green peppers are sliced, very thin just the way I like them, no matter what size pizza I get, though it's always, every single time soggy in the middle. tonight I came in for a tiramisu I was shocked at the price but I remembered they have excellent tiramisu so I ordered it anyway. I got home it was half frozen. It also was about half the size is it used to be, a very small piece for the exorbitant amount of money they charge for it. I went in to place an order to go and had a couple drinks while I was there. The drinks were fantastic but it was the waitress, the manager, and I think the owner(?) who really earned that 5 stars. Not only was the place very spacious and clean, it was very nicely decorated and they had the Cubs game playing, which is always nice. The owner(?) was very nice and I had a pleasant conversation with the manager and the server, which absolutely made my day. Got home to give my children the pizza I ordered for them and they loved it, no complaints all. I ordered a smash burger and it was definitely worth it. Not sure about the fries because I gave them to my youngest son but he didn't complain, he ate them all.
