My adult son was a patient for years there with Aspergers, anxiety disorder, and OCD. His doctor left the practice several years ago and he was assigned to a PA. What happened since then was more and more medications were added to his care. Five medications and the PA wanted a 6th, which my son had already tried and it didn't help! He gained lots of weight from these meds. My son is now with a new practice and a psychiatrist who just weaned him off one med and is adjusting another. He is looking to discontinue another medication eventually and begin therapy. This is how to practice psychiatric medicine! One other thing - many times the office staff was rude and completely focused on payment - not my son's care. When billed, my son paid them immediately but often they wanted money before an appointment or even a discussion. I think they felt they had the upper hand with dealing with patients similar to my son - who have emotional and/or mental issues and probably don't have advocates like me sticking up for them. RUN AWAY! This place engages in dishonest financial charges. They forgot to charge my insurance for a visit that was covered by my policy. After a year passed by they discovered their mistake. The time limit to file claim with the insurance expired. Now they try to apply all my copays for the other visits that were timely paid to them to make up for their loss, and make me pay for their mistake. They are not going to make you feel better, they will give you a lot of headaches. read more

There is a VERY rude agent who picks up the phone calls. She demands what you name is before she will answer any questions. Then when you tell her what your name is she will ask what you name is for a second time for some reason. Then when you tell her your first name and ask the question right after, she will demand for your last name. read more

Haven't actually seen a doctor here, but the front office staff is sorely lacking. They need sensitivity training - you would think staff working in a behavioral health setting would be a little kinder. I called in tears today after struggling for more than 3 months to find an in-network therapist that could fit into my schedule. The person who took the call she said I needed a referral to even hear about the schedule. I explained that I was trying to find a therapist that worked with my schedule so I could tell my primary care physician who to write a referral for, since the one they first referred me to had a waitlist of 6 months to a year. For potential patients with anxiety or depression, it was not a good impression. I left the phone call even more anxious than I started. This was a horrible experience, they made me wait for more than 2 hours, the place is dirty and I'm pretty sure the patient before me smoked in the Dr office. I was seen by the Dr for maybe 10 minutes but he wasn't paying attention to my symptoms and just prescribed medication that I don't even use. He is the worst. I wish I could give this place 0 stars.... My doctor was terrible. He constantly asked me why I wasn't married yet and suggested it was because we were living together (we are now married btw). He was completely unprofessional. The last straw is when he told me I was too fat and needed to lose weight. I kid you not. I'm maybe 15 lbs overweight and according to my general MD I'm perfectly healthy. I should also mention that I gained that weight on the meds that this doctor prescribed and he knows it's hard to lose weight on it. When I pointed this out, he told me to "try harder." Really?! It was my 1st visit. I am not a drug addict, but had to take a drug test. The bathroom was so dirty, pee on the toilet seat and there was no paper towels to dry off your hands. I saw the nurse practitioner, she was so very rude; she made me feel like everything was my fault. This visit was so uncomfortable and it made me feel worse, then when I went into their office. They suggested we have our son tested for various issues. It took him 2 appointments to finish the testing. Then for the next 8 months we got the run around with un-needed appointments to try and get testing results. Probably a dozen appointments with various therapists to try and get his test results only to find out 8 or so months later the results we not even completed yet! Terrible. I have multiple diagnoses, and have had to do a number of intake appointments in the past (moving, etc.)... This was, by far, the worst. I fill out forms quickly and have never taken more than 20 minutes to do so. Here, it took me 35 minutes, with two of the forms asking basically the same information (diagnoses and current meds), and the forms seemed to be general forms for a general care practitioner, a huge amount of physical health detail questions. Didn't make sense. They also have a WHOLE LOT of things they charge $35 for, like a prescription refill request from a pharmacy. Seriously? For a nurse to put a faxed request into a doctor's mailbox, the doctor to sign it, and the receptionist to fax it back, that is worth $35?! After filling out forms, I waited until about 10 mins after my appointment time and a lady took me back for a urinalysis. They don't know of they will, but if Medicare doesn't pay it I have to pay $90.. I'm on Medicare and disability, how am I supposed to pay for that? Go back into waiting room. finally, 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, the doctor came to get me. He didn't look at the forms for my history or current medications (why two different forms for this then?!), and proceeded to ask me each question from the form again. I told him I just moved here so I need to get established with someone and to address some acute issues. He suggested two medications for the most acute (out of the dozens that are out there), when I said I had tried them he just moved on. He kept trying to get me to agree I'm balanced, which I am by no means. Finally, he did give me an alternative sleeping drug, but that was it, and I had to remind him about that at the end. This guy seriously just kept trying to get me to say I'm balanced and didn't need to add or change medications. Which I do and kept saying so until I realized it was futile. He spent not even half an hour with me (shortest intake appointment I've ever had), and I've never left a psych appointment feeling so disheartened and hopeless. This guy seriously didn't care and this was a pointless appointment I had to pay a copay for, since they don't take medicaid or secondary insurance (which they didn't tell me when I called and asked). Front desk staff was also either clueless or acted like they just wanted you to go away. If you value your mental health, don't use this clinic. read more

Wish 0 stars were available. Do not go to this practice. I had been going there a few years for anxiety with no issues. Recently I had made an appt with the NP for a medication refill for my anti-anxiety medication. I was given an appointment, then the day before the office called and rescheduled. Went to my new appt. and was told they had no record. Scheduled another. Went to that appt and was again told they had no record of the appointment. At this point I was out of my meds so I called the Np to get a refill before my next appt. Called two days in a row with no call back. Finally on the 3rd call I told the receptionist " what do I have to do to get a call back, blow my brains out". 10 minutes later the cops show up at my door. Seems they called the cops to do a wellness check. They checked everything out, I explained the situation to them and they left. I called the office to find out what was going on and they scheduled yet another appointment for the next day. When I arrived I was told I either had to pay $475 right then and there, for the call they made to the police, (which was ridiculous )or I could not see the doctor. Since I did not have an extra $475 I left. A week later I received a bill, $475 for the phone call and $75 for a missed appointment. Now I dont know of any NP that makes $475 a hour for a 10 minute call which was unnecessary to begin with and then charge me $75 for a missed appointment. I was there they just wouldnt see me because I didnt have $475. Not that I would have paid that anyway. This medication is not an opiod, and you are drug tested on every visit so I am not a drug seeker. However the medication does state to not stop it suddenly. So I had to find another doctor to get my prescription filled. I then received a letter stating that they would no longer see me as I had other doctors refilling my prescription??? I asked them why they didnt bill my insurance company...Well it turns out this $475 is not a medical charge, but an administrative fee....what???? So basically they just make up these fees and then refuse to see you if you dont pay. This place is very scarry. Run, dont walk to another practice. read more

Currently in the process of filing a MEDICAL MALPRACTICE lawsuit against thIs company for discharging me for absolutely no reason at all. They violated my 8th amendment rights as well as violating hippa by telling my girlfriend why I was discharged before they even told me. And they aren't supposed to even talk to her in the first place. Big time OFFENSE right there. I cannot wait to see these people in court. This company said I misused my medication. I brought in proof that the rest of my prescription that I didn't bring to the pill count was at the pharmacy because my insurance only allows me to fill 90 at a time, and the other 60 once I run out of the 90. I also told them prior to the pill count that it was a partial fill. Then a few days later I get the discharge letter. I called, They told me they were going to call the pharmacy last week and this week to verify it multiple times and never did. They simply decided they just did not want to see me anymore, for absolutely no reason. They also didnt give me 30 days notice to find a new dr. So I will most likely run out of medication and end up in the hospital because of them. I know they have been in trouble with what happened with dr wolfram (no longer there anymore) and dealing with the DEA but they just added to there list of problems by wrongfully discharging me and refusing to give me medical care. They made so many mistakes. The girl that violated hippa and read my medication bottle wrong has no idea how big of an offense violating hippa is obviously because she did it without even thinking. They told my girlfriend they have all the proof in the world because these people think Its supposed to be 90 pills in each bottle. ITS 30 LADIES. 30X3=90. And the other 60 is still sitting at the pharmacy today! So I AM NOT SHORT MEDICATION! How is that so hard to understand? There cowards and after I addressed that they wouldn't even give me a reason why I was discharged. They made me leave, called the police on me, and told me I'm not allowed to come back. FOR THERE MISTAKES! I CANNOT wait to see them in court. Especially the girl who VIOLATED MY PRIVACY. She has NO IDEA what she is in for. MAJOR OFFENSES HUGE FINES! Worst place I've ever dealt with they never answer phones every woman at front desk extremely incompetent and rude. Drove all the way from work for first appointment only to have them Say I owe $154 dollars and I can't afford that right now and they did well its your co payment and I said would have been really helpful had someone told me that up front and looked into price otherwise wouldn't have wasted my time and time off work. Tried to call and confirm insurance and a appointment. First person I talked to was fantastic, however they ran the insurance through the wrong state so I called back. The front desk was extremely rude, enough for me to cancel my first appointment with them 10 minutes after I made it. They didn't even confirm my cancellation and hung up on me. I had to call seven times and all went to voicemail, because I'm sure that front desk lady didn't want to pick up the phone again. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. My husband needed to see a psych due to sleep problems and anxiety following surgery. We made an appointment at Behavioral Health in Des Plaines because they were covered under his insurance. Filled out 20 pages of paperwork and waited almost 2 hours to see the doctor. When he came out, he was having a panic attack. He says the "doctor" grilled him for less than 10 minutes but was very accusatory and unprofessional (was drinking a giant Slurpee during his appointment. Very nice.). She wrote him a prescription for a high dose of Seroquel, which we threw in the garbage upon getting a second opinion- no way he needed to be tranquilized that bad. So a YEAR goes by, and suddenly we get a bill in the mail for $2400 from some lab in Colorado, for labwork that Behavioral Health sent out. Now, hubs had done the pee in a cup right there in the office and they had immediate results. Apparently they thought he was an addict as the bill was for every drug test known to man. I am thinking these scam artists delayed this on purpose knowing that you can't appeal an insurance claim after 180 days. When hubs tried calling them to get copies of his medical record (to verify if he consented to the outside testing), they told him he'd have to pay over $70 in "copy fees" in order to get it. So I filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. "Magically," the bill dropped to $50 and we got a copy of his medical record, for FREE. Now we're getting ANOTHER bill from them, a year and a half out, for $475. We got the insurance to re-process the claim so we're waiting on that. UNBELIEVABLE. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau next and they better hope this bill goes away or I'll probably find an attorney to talk to. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. read more

Everything you read about this place is true! If you need a real Dr. that is willing to help you and make you feel comfortable then avoid this place at all costs. If you're a junkie looking for pills and heroin treatment then you probably don't care about waiting 3 hours for your scheduled appointment and being treated rudely by staff. We walked out after they wanted us to pay an additional $150 for a urine specimen. If you're looking for help with depression and you're not a drug addict then this is the last place you should go to as this place will make you even more depressed. Each person that walked in while waiting looked like they were on heroin. Hopefully they're getting help but I'm guessing they're just getting more drugs and not receiving any compassion at all. My wife was treated poorly, embarrassed, and walked out of here more depressed than when she came in. I go there and the doctor tells me she doesn't know what is wrong with me but I should try anxiety pills. I told her I drink occasionally and she wanted to prescribe me pills to stop drinking! Like seriously?!? I feel like they just wanted to make money off the medications! On top of that it's hard to find a schedule that doesn't conflict with normal peoples work hours. I have been rescheduled over 3 times in a month's span and that's bc the doctors kept changing office hours! I told them I was going to cancel my services and their response was "ok bye". The average amount of time I've waited here for an appointment is between 1 and 2 hours... And my actual appointment lasts on average, 5 minutes. I saw a Dr here for meds once a month for complicated dual diagnoses and he never remembered a thing about me. Not even with my chart in front of him. And he seems to be a major believer in just throwing a pill at any hint of a psychological symptom. The staff is rude, immature, and ignorant of what encompasses working in a functional doctor's office. They text on their cell phones, socialize, and i have been put on hold for over 15 minutes until i finally hung up! They can not answer any insurance questions and seem not to really understand how insurances work at all. I always felt like an inconvenience here. This place does not see people by order of sign in or by appointment time. And if you do have to go here, get a receipt for your payment. They have frequently "had no record" of several large payments I made until I mailed them copies of the receipts I was given each time. Billing is impossible to reach and only available during inconvenient hours, and none of the office staff seems to know anything about or be able to handle any billing issues on site. Front desk was trying to be helpful but all they could say was that he was on the phone; they seemed embarrassed and uncomfortable about the whole situation, since other patients (they said he had 5 waiting) were also trying to find out what was happening and why they had waited hours. How can this doctor be this oblivious and/or inconsiderate? How can this doctor be a doctor who sees patients? How can this doctor stay in business with so many reasonable alternatives? I don't even know where to start. The last time I had been there was 2010. I left because Susan Russo misdiagnosed me. I went through every medication and they didn't work. This year I decided to try and go back. None of the old office staff is there. I have yet to see the same person up at the desk. was told I had a $30 balance from 7 years ago! I never received a statement. I was ignored when I stated that. I was then told I couldn't schedule another appt till it was paid off. I raised hell about it. Then the balance magically disappeared. I then saw a Dr rachman. he was pretty decent. So I scheduled my next appt. They called me 3 days before my appt to day he was double booked so I could see Dr.Hirsch.i wasn't keen on seeing him and I assumed my next appt would be back with Rachman. Nope! They had me stick with Hirsch. He prescribed me meds not telling me the interaction it would have with my other meds. Or the bad side effects of the new one. He always seems so scattered brain. I went from being on this med for 1 month to him saying 6 months. Dude doesn't even know what dosage I was on. I spend more time with the resident students than him. He has someone else write prescriptions instead of him. My appointments between him and his students takes over an hour. He doesn't listen for crap either. He cut my dosage in half on the new med. I went into a severe depression. He didn't care. I asked if I could switch to a different doc and was told no. Wolfrum is gone now too...Google and you will see why. This place has gone down hill. I've been a patient for years and I should have left long ago but they accepted my insurance, they were close and I never saw Wolfrum since I was a young teenager and let me tell you I can see how he lost his license. (Google him, no joke he's been accused of awful things!) Now they call me 2-3 days before my appt last month and this month to tell me my Dr wrote the limit on my type of medication so she can't write anymore for the month.... it was only the 15th of the month!! So their answer is to set me up with a different dr, ok well keep in mind I need my monthly medicine and they treated me like I was hassling THEM to get a appt in the same week! I go in and see another dr who proceeds to tell me that the medicine I'm on is a waste and my husband should be angry I'm wasting HIS HARD EARNED money on my meds!!! WTF?!?!? I've put up with the awful office staff who are far behind incompetent and rude as hell for convenience but now that it seems the DEA is breathing down their necks (to which they explain it as a "witch hunt", but if they were doing everything by the book there shouldn't be these issues...right?!?!)and they have to actually follow certain rules that they didn't follow before we the patients have to suffer or get left in the wind! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE SEEKING PROFESSIONAL AND GENUINE HELP. This place and every single person that works there are absolutely appalling, so horrible that I wouldn't even bring my dog there. The receptionists are lazy, miserable human beings that clearly hate their jobs. Within the 5 minutes of being in the reception room I saw all of them rolling their eyes and giving dirty looks to people more times than I could even count. They screwed up my appointment, told me it was in Des plaines.. so I go there and the lady there tells me that the Dr I'm seeing is at schaumburg. Well ok then.. I try calling schaumburg office to tell them that I will be late and no one answers. I must've called 6 times. So I get to schaumburg, go through the motions of filling out paperwork. And little do I know the Dr I had an appt with was apparently no longer working there anymore.. why couldn't they have called me to tell me this? Pure laziness and selfishness, that's why. Also, they just assumed I would be ok with seeing someone else, never asked my permission or gave me a heads up. So when I told the girl I had to leave to get to work, she seemed so annoyed like she actually had to do something and pretty much made me feel like I didn't matter and all the trouble I went through was my fault. This place is dirty, unwelcoming, highly unprofessional.. I would rather talk to a dirty wall in a gas station bathroom than ever step foot in an office of these so called "psychiatrists/doctors" DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs, it has been nonstop problems since day 1. The first appointment I was required to do a drug test (still don't know why) that they would not submit to insurance. After waiting over an hour to be seen my doctor informed me they forgot to tell him I was there. After my appt I came out to set up another appt & the office staff were discussing my drug test results in front of me! They didn't know I was that patient they were speaking of. I've also had to pay out of pocket for a "copay" when my insurance specifically says there is no co-pay. I have consistently had long waits. This last time they told me I would have to wait over an hour to be seen if I wanted to be seen even though I had an appointment. I then asked for my records since I am moving out of state and they said they had to charge me! (Medical records belong to the patient not the company - will be looking into this more to prevent further fraud). I have only ever had 5 minute appts despite them trying to claim to insurance that I had "extra long" sessions (maybe if you include the ridiculous wait!) This is the most unprofessional place I have ever been. They are only there to make money, not to actually help people. If you want no privacy, your time wasted, to be over charged, and disrespected then this is the place for you. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. The provider at this facility was excellent. However, the provider has left the practice. I am not surprised, as the office staff was unbelievably frustrating to deal with. They "lost" one of my appointments, forgot to tell the provider that I had arrived, so I sat around the waiting room and she thought I was a "no show". When she finally saw me, she was horrified that they forgot about me. I called to confirm my next appointment (which I have learned is a requirement with these people) and I was told that my appointment was no longer on the books because the provider was leaving the practice. I asked them if anyone was going to call me and let me know. They probably sensed my annoyance. Yesterday, I got a voicemail from someone informing me (and giggling through her entire message) that my therapist was gone, but I could come see "the new one". NO THANK YOU. This place is the worst.
