We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken and the Pad Thai. When the food came out, we sat down at one of their tables and started eating. Of course, the feral chickens started swarming our table to see if they could get any scraps. We shoo'd them away every time but they kept getting closer. There was one other group of people eating at the same time, but they quickly left so all the chickens were surrounding us. They would jump from the floor, to the seat of the extra chairs around the table, to the chair arm rest, before we had to yell and kick our feet for them to get away. But they're not scared!!!!!! They keep coming back and inching closer and closer to you. About 15 minutes in, a chicken literally jumped from the floor INTO OUR PLATE OF FOOD in one big swoop. It clawed my boyfriend's arm and its feathers went all in my face. I screamed VERY LOUDLY. Unfortunately our lunch was ruined because the food was now contaminated and we had to throw it all away. TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE and would not recommend to anyone. Waste of our money and food too. As for the food, Korean fried chicken was NOT boneless. Behl's Asian Flavors was one of a handful of somewhat permanent-seeming food trucks assembled in a dirt and weed-filled field in Koloa. After walking through earlier in the day plans were made to return for dinner another night. Pad Thai ($13) with choice of protein ($1.75-$3.50) from Behl's was my dinner choice while my dining partner opted for ramen from another truck. Both left us saying "when will we learn?" The shrimp pad thai was an ample portion but so one-note in flavor that I quickly grew tired of the taste. Though it'd been described as one of their most popular offerings I think the tastier route would be to focus on their menu items where the protein isn't an add-on (Korean Fried Chicken perhaps). It doesn't matter which Hawaiian island I'm on. These days, the majority of food trucks in Hawaii just aren't doing it for me. This was insane. The wait was shorter than expected and the workers were extremely welcoming. Behls grills every order fresh! This was the best cooked food I had on the island. This was our second visit to this food truck as we had a very positive experience there in November of 2024. It was just as we remembered! The lady was very nice and friendly and often says, "God bless you!" The food was delicious! Last time we got the combo plate with pork belly and chicken, plus lumpia. This time they were out of the pork belly and lumpia so we got the Korean fried chicken (messy to eat but delicious)! Plus the fresh spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and gyoza. We got our food to go to eat in our room as it was starting to rain and one of our travel companions was feeling ill back in the room. I plan to return here every time we're on Kauai. Worst food I've had while on Kauai. We ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, and the Korean chicken. The pad Thai came with FOUR pieces of tofu and was primarily all noodles. The chicken was hard to eat due to the big bones in it, and the rice tasted old. The lady behind the counter was very rude. She made a big deal to give our family some more napkins, and acted like we were asking for too much. We spent $100 for terrible food, and she seemed shocked with being asked for some napkins, saying "I already gave you some." So rude, she shouldn't work here. Flies all over the place too. Save your money and go elsewhere. I recommend Smash Cafe right next to this dump. That food is worth it. read more

Nice until you pay, then watch out. I was just standing waiting for my order and she looks at me and says: what do you need, your order not ready. Additionally, she was upset I asked for napkins (how crazy is that)? 3. Expensive for what it is (you can go to a nice sit down place for the same price and get treated well. Service is slow. Ladies seem friendly but they underhandedly prioritize those who tip more. Food does not match price point.

It's unfortunate that I have to post this as I usually want to support my Filipino family but this person was strangely, ridiculously unhelpful. There was a group of food trucks together in Koloa. They were clearly backed up for several orders, which was fine. I stood in line 10 minutes (timed) just for a Thai iced tea. When I got up to the front and ordered she said she would get me later because she had a lot of orders. I didn't know what that meant so I got out of line. I thought she meant they were low on the iced tea. I sat at my table eating, then I watched another woman order 2 of the Thai iced tea, pay then walk away with them. So I went back up to the window and before I even said anything she again said, I'll take care of you later, I have a lot of orders. When I said I just saw a woman order two of the iced teas, she repeated herself and I walked away. I don't understand why she treated me like this. Maybe I didn't look like a tourist because I'm brown and I was wearing a sarong over my suit. She served every person in line besides me. Even people sitting stood the tables nearby had confused looks on their faces. To this woman working at the truck, that is a terrible way to treat anyone who wants to give you business. Don't judge a book by its cover. I will be telling all my friends with me on this trip where NOT to go. And then I will go back to the mainland and warn people about how I was dismissed. The dishes are cooked as they are ordered so fresh every time. The service was so good as well as they are pleasant and helpful in selecting how you want your food prepared making good suggestions. Beware! I watched the person at the window put off taking a woman's order TWICE because she looked local compared to others in line. I'm not sure I would've given a second chance, but she did and again was rudely put off. Never a good idea to assume as locals and tourists come from varying backgrounds.
