The food was amazing, but unfortunately the service wasn't. I understand that working with tourists all day can be challenging, but not every visitor is the same. The employee who took my order was rude and even yelled at me because she couldn't hear me over the loud music playing in the food truck. I considered going back to ask for them, but honestly, I didn't because I was worried the employee would be even ruder than she was when I placed my order. It was my first time in Kauai and I heard about the Musubi Truck and people have recommended it to me. I love Musubi so I had to try it. I can't believe we actually found it. It is stationed in a parking spot/lot. I'm not sure if it stays there or they move around. But they have some tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your food. I got the original Musubi. We parked around the main town where all the shops are but there is a parking lot in the rear. There's a couple of patio tables on gravel but when we visited last time, there was an active wasp nest nearby so be careful! OG spam musubis are pre-made and only $3 so if you're looking for a quick snack, this is perfect. Not the best but not the worst. It's on the smaller side but for $3, I wasn't expecting something hefty. If you have time, try one of their specialty or deep-fried musubis. Each order will get a buzzer since those are made to order. The deep fried was saucy and crunchy, so much better than the original. I also tried the Chicken Katsu musubi. This is a famous food truck in Kauai near Poipu Beach. This is situated in Old Koloa Town. They have a lot of clothing stores around and also few food trucks around. Parking is a little challenge since this is a popular spot and the prices are not too expensive since everything in Kauai is expensive. We ordered the passion fruit slushy with li hing and it's very good, highly recommend. I ordered the local poke bowl, it tasted fresh and the portion is just about right and the flavor is very good. Hubby ordered a double size Chicken katsu musubi, and it's delicious and the chicken is crunchy. Our food was ready in 15 min so we didn't wait too long. They have utensils readily available just outside the counter of the food truck. There have 4 tables and benches in front of the truck. The service here is quick. We were told 15-20 mins and it came out in 10. The spicy poke tasted fresh and everything was packed with flavor in the Lifeguard Bento box. The chicken in the katsu musubi was a little dry, but that was fixed aided by sauce they give with it. They have some picnic benches to sit at near the truck which makes it easy to order and wait for food. It's also close to the Koloa Fish Market and the shopping area in Koloa which makes it easy to do a little shopping or walking around after an eating here.
