We were enticed to come here through a Facebook event, and glad that we made the trip. I will be remiss if I did not mention the scenic relevance of Flemington, and the beauty of it in conjunction with this review. Aside from the railroad, Flemington appears to be a beautiful town, where agriculture and suburbia clash together to bring about a diverse display of these sub-cultures of Americana. This really set the stage for visitors coming into Flemington to Humdoo. Stangl road, itself, is set apart, almost like a secret nook. Coming off Main Street, the thoroughfare looks like it would lead to a residential area, but is in fact quite the contrary. Local businesses emerge and line either side of the road as you turn onto it, with roadside parking that you don't have to parallel park into. Humdoo Ice Cream nestles amongst these businesses that create an outdoor, walking mall of sorts. Age, amongst other factors, really make us suckers for punishment when it comes to fancying and enjoying ice cream. Perhaps it was an "one-off-day" for us, but the frozen treats at Humdoo were amazing and delicious without the complimentary side effects. The flavors of the frozen cream were just right - not too sweet, but also not too milky if that makes sense. I believe the ice cream were only available as hard ice-cream (no soft-serve) and held great together (did not melt away as quickly as other ice cream typically do; perhaps it was the season that play apart in this as well). The flavor, texture, and consistency made Humdoo's frozen delights incredibly enjoyable. There was a decent range of flavor selections which were all unique in their own way - I imagine that you cannot go wrong with any of the flavors (although I highly recommend the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle). There is an indoor restroom within the creamery, however seating is very limited. The business does accept credit card as a form of payment. It was delightfully surprising to find a local creamery open as early as February while still being in the winter season. We are definitely going to come back for more when the weather gets warmer to give it another go!

The service was great! The girl working was very nice and friendly. I had the campfire smores, cookies and cream & the coffee ice cream. Out of the three, I'd recommend the coffee ice cream! There were brownie chunks in it which made it taste extra good and the coffee flavor wasn't overpowering. The campfire flavor was very sweet, good if you have a sweet tooth. And the cookies & cream was light, not too much flavor. The tables could be a bit cleaner but all else is good. Overall, a very nice spot to have ice cream and relax outside! All the food and products are from the Amish people. Everyone is so friendly and the service is fast and efficient. My mom ordered a strawberry milkshake. She said it was one of the best milkshakes she ever had. They put a bunch of fresh strawberries inside and she said it wasn't too sweet but just perfect. My husband ordered a cookies and cream milkshake. He also said it was made really well and was not too sweet. Just a clean creamy cookie flavor. Of course we had to try the doughnuts. I ordered an apple and a chocolate with sprinkles. The apple was really good! It was freshly baked, and the filling was delicious and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The chocolate was also very good! They are big donuts too! 2 for $5. Now to the delicious soft pretzels! They are freshly baked, soft, buttery, and delicious!!! You can also get them in garlic, cinnamon, and sour cream and onion. They have pretzel dogs too. Fresh fudge anyone? They have a large variety of fudge treats. They have fresh meats, jewelry, furniture, and other items for sale as well. I wished we had more time to explore and try more things. They are only open on Thursdays and Saturdays until 3:00 PM.

They have something for pretty much everyone - baked goods (donuts, cakes, pies, bread), cheese, pickles, produce, fresh meat, home furnishings. It's surprising how much they can squeeze into the space they have and not feel like it's crowded. There's also tables, cafeteria style, if you choose to eat there. If you visit their website, they offer coupons (e.g., $1 off brownies, free pretzel w/ purchase of a milkshake, etc.) you can print out. Normally, it is only open Thursday through Saturday. During certain holidays they do open other days of the week. For Christmas week, they're open Monday through Wednesday since they're closed on December 25th and 26th. For New Year's week, they're open Wednesday since they're closed on Thursday (New Year's Day).

I got a caramel latte which was flavored exactly to my preference! The caramel was not too sweet, didn't taste artificial and the double espresso was roasted perfectly. At the chocolate counter, I order a few different items. Just about all the chocolate is made in house (including the springtime/Easter specials)! The only items not made by in house are the peanut/peanut butter containing items (which are kept in a separate case). These items are sourced from Asher's Chocolate Co. Mr. Pops does this to ensure all of the chocolates made on site are 100% peanut free. The ambiance is quaint. Mr. Pops is decorated to elicit memories of a chocolate shop of old. I spoke with owner Tim who added to the pleasure of the experience. I am excited to return soon to Mr. Pops where I anticipate trying something cooler as the weather warms! In the corner of Mr. Pops I spotted an ice cream case... I hope this is an indication of ice cream and/or gelato coming in the near future. I would love to try an affogato from Mr. Pops! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Couch is comfy, but floor plan in the back area is a bit awkward, you go down some hallways to get to bathroom and pass some lonely candy shelves. Chocolate quality is so-so, it lacks a richness and cocoa bite. Ice cream flavors are very interesting and strong. I got the banana cookie ice cream in my affogato and, while I wish there was more ice cream, it was QUITE good. My wife didn't want all the caffeine from hers, so I walked out 320mg of caffeine richer. Would return for ice cream and ambiance.

The space was buzzing as diners spoke to each other, how couldn't we, eating so close to one and other??

It's such a great local spot, and I don't think enough people realize what it is or how good it's become. My mom and I stopped in for lunch and sat outside on Main Street, which was honestly so lovely. It felt really special to just sit, enjoy a great meal, and be part of the community. We met Mo, who took such great care of us and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We started with the hummus, which was incredibly fresh and smooth, and you could tell everything was made with care. For our mains, we had the lamb chops and the lemon chicken, both of which were delicious. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, and the lemon chicken had such a bright, balanced flavor. The potatoes were a standout, roasted and finished in a lemon butter that made them unforgettable. If you haven't been in a while, or didn't realize there's been a change, it's definitely worth stopping in. Main Street businesses could really use the support, and this place is one that deserves it. Go say hi to Mo and give it a try.
