Anyway, I was helping me dad out with a gift for my mom and she loves plants, so he sent me here. Their house is now filled to the brim with plants because it's officially cold so all of the outdoor plants are cramped into a little ranch house. But still, more plants only means good things. With my luck, the day I finally stop in, they had just lost power, so the shop itself was very dark. But nearly all of the plants are in the greenhouse anyway, so it wasn't a problem. One of the owners walked around with me, answered all of my questions, and even looked up each plant I was considering to see if it was pet friendly. I ended up getting 3 plants (two for my mom, 1 for me) ((I can't NOT get something for myself when in a plant shop)) and couldn't be happier. Oh and also a beautiful little pot. All for about $50ish. I'd absolutely recommend this shop for potted plants, cut flowers and everything in between.

I am not local to the store so I just order a bunch at one time and have them shipped to me. The puddings freeze and thaw beautifully. Pereira's Nutrition's customer service is top notch, as well. I recently had an urgent question about an order and Sharin solved my issue within an hour. They really go above and beyond to ensure their customers have a great experience. Half hour later, you say I wonder if we've got some left. Then you're hooked. The pudding was great too. That was more like a desert than a meal but it could serve as both. Finally the bar. I was so in love with the cinnamon peanut butter balls that I forgot it until the next day. That's when I munched on that. Freaking awesome. Plus, delivery was quick, friendly and the price was great. In the end, you can order food without spiking your blood sugar with this place. So much better than pizza.

The first time I went, they were still open for assembly sessions. Everyone was very friendly and Jackie (the only employee I can remember chatting with) was grateful that I looked them up. Subsequent months later, I picked up my meals as they were closed for assembly sessions. I would pull up, open my trunk, and give them a call. They would bring out my meals in bags and I would be ready to go. I really appreciate them keeping open even though they have to put in extra work just so I could have my great, easy to cook meals. I'm not a good cook and I don't really like to cook so Dream Dinners has been a lifesaver for me these past 5ish years. The Flemington location is top-notch and I would recommend to anybody who wants meal kits but doesn't want to pay the high prices that places like Blue Apron charge to deliver to your house. I realize this is a very wealthy area, and Basil Bandwagon does put out some coupons here and there which is appreciated. It is certainly more of A $$$ store than $$ in which I think they would still be profitable, yet a bit more fair. In any circumstance if you're looking for good quality, very healthy stuff it is a great spot to try out. Also the portions on most things at the deli counter are very nice with their sandwiches. I learned that Basil Bandwagon has been open for 25 years. The year they opened, I was eating cold Pop Tarts while running to catch the school bus at 6:55am. In those days, fat-free was all the rage and considered "healthy" -- never mind all the refined carbs, loads of sugar, and preservatives. These days, I'm a strict vegetarian who is mostly vegan. I cook a lot and eat fresh produce daily. I appreciate that BB offers a healthy alternative to basically all the crap fast food otherwise available in the area. We ordered a wrap from the cafe and decided to eat it there. The seating was a counter with a few bar stools but it was clean if not spacious. My husband and I shared the "Freebird" wrap -- tofu-based mock chicken, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and vegan mayo. It came with potato chips. Wow, this was so good! Clean tasting, hearty, and delicious. I was so impressed with it that we grabbed a prepackaged wrap from the cold case to take on the plane with us. We also picked up a few other vegan sandwiches which were okay tasting but overall too dense and heavy. Next time, I'll stick with the housemade items. I do find it a little annoying that BB doesn't seem to carry as many vegan items as they do things that are "paleo" and gluten-free. I also find that some of their food items are so outrageously overpriced that you'd be better off hunting around at the local grocery stores instead of purchasing them here. The next time I'm in town, I'll be there to order another yummy item from the cafe.
