Wow, 1st thing I wana mention is this is my 1st time at this location and 2nd, RALEYS is part of this store. I didnt know that. So Raleys and Bel Air work together. I arrived around 11am. The parking lot was clean & store was clean. The hotcase was full and appetizing. Nobody was just sitting around..everyone was doing something with a quick pace. Great work ethic in the deli/hotcase. The customer service was pleasant and friendly. The store was well stocked..their produce section was beautiful. No rotten or stinky produce. Everything was perfect. The workers smile when I passed them and offered me help when 1 seen me struggling to grab orange juice and he sped over to help me. The cashier and bagger were both fast and friendly ..infact my loyalty number wasnt working and cashier went out her way to find the 1800 number and wrote down the extension number. She had great energy and I appreciated her for going out her way. Overall I had a great experience at this location and WILL be returning. read more

The Craft Beer section is improving dramatically here. A fair amount of local and regional brewed beer here, including Track 7, Knee Deep and Dust Bowl Brewing. The exterior renovation appears to be complete, and it looks very nice. There is a new Peet's Coffee sign out front as well. Inside is always clean, checkout is always fast, and staff is always friendly. If I had one complaint, it would probably be in the parking lot. There is a bottle neck coming in and out of the Cypress parking entrances. It can slow things down quite a bit. Other than that, great location and everything you need to fill your cupboards and fridge! Did I mention their beer section is looking good? =) read more

I've checked in here a ton of times and never written a review. You can probably ascertain that I'm a fan or why the hell would I shop here? I basically shop primarily at Raley's and Bel Air because the quality of the food is generally better than the competitors. I occasionally shop at Safeway and if I'm feeling fancy, Nugget. But for day to day food shopping, it's Bel Air. The prices are a bit high perhaps, but we tend to try to shop specials as much as possible which helps mitigate the higher cost, but the quality is worth it. We also like the store layout and the employees are friendly and helpful. It's just a nice place to shop, and I'm glad it's the closest store. read more

Stopped by the Bakery for sourdough and another fresh crust bread today. We just had our dinner and tried the sourdough first. Well, let me tell you we never even cut into the other loaf, being so happy with it. I have been a strong fan of that famous San Francisco sourdough for more than 30 years....I am now a fan of the Raleys sourdough! Thank you for such an exceptional product. They always have everything I am looking for! I go there for pretty much everything especially because it's so close to me. It's the best place to go to get something quick. Plus they have new deals for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's that was new and it saved me lots of money!!!! Today I went there and was a little disappointed. I was at the self check out and it told me to wait for assistance and the lady that was watching the self check out was literally talking to other workers and not helping. Stood there for a good 3 minutes before she noticed. Still love the place and will go back. Especially for the poppy seed loafs! read more

I have been shopping at this Bel Air since the 1st day they opened in 1986 and shop here very often and used to love this store. The last time I shopped there was 10/14/21 and it was one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had; rude, disinterested and uncaring clerks and employees,very high prices and terrible selection and stock. I doubt I will be shopping there again very often if ever. Very sad. read more

I shop at this store occasionally and was so impressed with the customer service I received that I just had to write this review! I was helped by a beautiful young lady who was kind and greeted my Grandson and I with the most amazing smile ever! It's really hard to find great customer service these days, most times cashiers don't even acknowledge you! However, this was not my experience while shopping at Raley's and I just want to let the young girl who helped us know she made our day! This is the 3rd time I have shopped at this place and grabbed expired food. I notified an employee and they remove it from the shelf. Is this a California thing??? They brush it off like no big deal. So far I have found expired refrigerated cookies for over 1 month, moldy bread and yogurt yuck. This store cost way too much to not be rotating food items and checking expiration dates. You would think they would have a master list it's honestly ridiculous and the cashier didn't even notice. I noticed one of the items before being place in the bag. My review is for customer service in particular. I docked stars for service and finding expired goods that were stocked on shelf.. It isn't a one star because I really love their sale prices and selection in general. So I went in with my mum for some simple groceries, we got in a very short line with a few things amongst us both; her and I had separate bills. So the cashier, John, just stares at me and rings me up. "You gonna need a bag?" Umm, generally I prefer a "hello" as a greeting. I told him no and paid. Then i wanted for my mother, who had 2 coupons she handed to sir John the stonefaced. He glares at her without a greeting and states "You need a membership to use these." They.. are manufacturers coupons.. "so are you gonna get a membership with us or not?" Really dude? Go eat some of your name brand prunes and loosen up.. (they're on sale). We just wrote your paycheck and you are going to treat us this way? Bagger lady was nasty too and kept trying to force us to buy bags. Sketchy teenager. I suggest the manager talk to John (middle aged salt n' pepa dude) about proper customer service, maybe teach him to smile and say hi.. and if John IS the manager... God help us all. I'm really considering shopping elsewhere.. no sale is worth the hassle. read more

I have always enjoyed Bel Air/ Raley's deli departments. Such good food! But today I visited this locations deli and was served by a phenomenal employee! Alex in deli/meat department was so freakin nice! He made my sandwich perfect and was a delight to meet! I'm definitely going back to this specific location for my sandwiches! Thank you Alex! This cake was supposed to have a full layer of custard and was advertised as a "Boston creme mum cake". I even spoke with an employee and asked about a few cakes for my boyfriend's birthday, and decided on this one specifically for the custard because he loves that. As you can see, we cut some slices out and there is barely any custard inside, plus the cake itself was dry. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this cake, especially because I was expecting something nice for a birthday. read more

I had to come into the Store last minute to pick up 10 pounds of Carne Asada for a catering event. The meat department was very accommodating stopped their own production to help me out by getting me the meat that I needed in a timely and polite fashion. I do not want to give bel-air any star at all. Their deli is a joke, we will never go there ever again. Our dogs wouldn't even eat the fried chicken meat, oh wait, what meat?. Today I went in and used self checkout. The employee named Rose was incredibly rude. I ended up leaving in tears. When the first item said to wait for cashier I waited for 2 mins and raised my hand for help. Rose brushed me off and rudely told me she was helping someone else. I assumed I misunderstood for I work in the complex and she is always so nice when she can see my uniform. I wait for her to finish, still not acknowledging me or even looking in my direction. A few more minutes go by and I raise my hand again and asked for help. Rose takes a step toward me, rolls her eyes and just points at my screen. Without ever looking in my direction she had fixed the screen. The next item I scan I get the same message and I began to panic. I look in her direction but she just stands there and talks to another employee for several more minutes. By this point there is a line behind me and I look over to find they are paying attention and understanding. Rose never looks at me but eventually leaves all together. I was able to have another associate help me but by this point I was in a panic and full blown tears. She was compassionate and understanding. I have been going to your belair for 25 years and have never been treated this way. My family and I will take the extra 60 seconds to drive over to Safeway for the time being. I am so distraught. Rose should treat all customers the same and not just the ones whome she recognizes. read more

I was looking for macaroni salad and a lady said there's some in the back some in the deli and some on this aisle. So I went to the back because that's where the resets is. I couldn't find it my gf and I went and looked almost everywhere. The macaroni salad in the deli looked gross so I was like I'm going to get potato salad instead. There was a sign above the counter that said macaroni and potato salad 3.99 a pound instead of the usual 6.99 a pound. So I was like that's a good deal. So I went up to the checkout and it came up 6.99 so I asked why and they called the deli. The guy who was very nice said to the self checkout guy that that one doesn't count for the deal. I really liked the guy at the deli counter. The management needs to make it perfectly clear that that ones doesn't count. I still bought it but wasnt very happy read more

Very nice grocery store that sells many upscale and organic items--and the prices do reflect it. Everyone here is very nice and helpful and I've never had a problem in finding someone to help me. They sometimes have an employee barbecuing outside during the summer months and that is a nice stop to grab lunch at. Parking lot is very well lit at night (I always check these details out!) and there are several other stores in the parking lot it shares. read more

Bel Air - Grocery Near Me - Carmichael, California

Everything about this store is okay (all right, maybe not EVERYTHING- their prices are a bit high but that's for another Yelp review) but this 1-star review is for their Customer Service counter in particular. DO NOT mail packages through this place! The clerks will either: 1) not scan the tracking info so it won't provide status updates on USPS's website (which happened to me this past year); or 2) put in the wrong zipcode so your package will get sent to North Carolina instead of Michigan. (Thank goodness the address on the package is correct!) I didn't realize the error until I'd returned home and checked my receipt. By that time the mail had been picked up. Save yourself the hassle: either take packages to the post office and use the self-service kiosk or take them to Carmichael Box Shop to be mailed. The Box Shop has superior service (AND they're thorough when putting package info into the system). read more

I had a somewhat negative three-star review of this Bel-Air posted here for a while (since Aug., '07), which I'd honestly forgotten about until receiving a courteous note here on Yelp from someone who works there. Anyway, at this point in time, I'd say Bel-Air deserves a four-star rating. For the most part, they do a great job keeping the shelves well-stocked with the items I'm looking for -- and their organic/health-food aisle is quite fantastic. Also, the customer service has improved since my previous post. I'm particularly impressed by the post office/customer service desk (which beats going to the post office -- for me anyway) and their pharmacy. Very kind, courteous people. Bel-Air also offers self-checkout, which I generally love using. It's super quick and convenient, once you get the hang of the machines. Truth be told, though, I still do most of my shopping at the Safeway across the street; I still think the prices there are better. But if I need to pick up a few items that aren't at Safeway, or I have something to mail or medication to pick up, Bel-Air's my destination of choice. read more

This Carmichael location is my go to grocery store ... I literally go here for ALL my needs .. pet food, groceries, diapers & wipes.. The lines are always short and if not they quickly open a new register. Both of my girls love the free fruit for kids program & look forward to grabbing a piece every time we shop, and I love that it keeps them busy! The staff is always happy & helpful.. I rarely visit any other stores because I can always find what I need quickly and get out the door, even shopping with 3 kids! read more

I love Bel Air. Yes, I know it's more expensive, but I don't care. To me, the quality of not just the products, but the service, is worth it. My Bel Air (yes, MINE) is across the street from a Safeway. I literally kick myself every time I go to Safeway instead of Bel Air. Why? No self checkout. Not enough cashiers. The organization makes no sense. Worse customer rewards. No mail service. And it's not even always less expensive! Bel Air offers me all of these things with a smile on its face. Employees are always friendly and willing to help, and I see the same ones day in and day out. As everyone knows, no one can touch the quality of Bel Air meat and produce, and I have to say, their deli section takes the cake as well (no pun intended). For my money, Bel Air is where it's at. A few more cents here and there is worth the service, speed, and quality I get when I go to Bel Air. I love that Bel Air (and its family of companies) is active in the community, supporting schools and food banks year-round. I also know that they treat their employees well, paying a living wage and offering extensive training. No amount of savings is worth sacrificing the treatment of a company's employees, in my opinion. Hopefully I'm not the only one who feels that quality is worth the cost, and this store (and this company) continues to thrive and stays in business for years to come. read more

This review is for the check-out customer service in this particular location. I have been shopping at Raley's and Bel Air's stores for nearly two decades, and, of course, every store has great produce, bakery and salad bars, but this one, unfortunately, also has the worst checkout customer service ever! My friends and students know I am a very patient woman, but I am seriously done with this store! The blond, short-haired female self-checkout crew member, who came to help at terminal #10 today around 3:10 pm, you certainly knew what you were doing when you came over, picked up a package of cheese from the floor after I had already processed it through the terminal, and you put it again through the scale, totally ignoring my objections! You said you saw that it had not been registered. Well, with the ridiculously frequent interruptions, when even after pre-packaged items a Checking weight message would appear (no less than 10 during one shopping experience this afternoon!), I was very glad to be able to finally pay and leave the store. I came home, looked at the receipt, and -- of course -- I was charged twice for that package of cheese! $3.89 is not a big deal, you would say. Yes, but how is deliberately overcharging customers better than shoplifting? Outsmarting a customer through your terminal manipulations is not a joke, not some kind of sports. It's a crime. That Manzanita location of Bel Air has lost my trust today -- and lost me as a loyal and frequent customer. Your $3.89 gain (enjoy your free cheese!) turned out to be the price of the store reputation. No, I am not asking my $3.89 back! I would gladly give you even that only piece of cheese that I got --if you love blue cheese so much -- but I loathe to see you again. read more

The police officer that was working on 5/25 followed me around the store, even after he saw me previously go into the store and purchase a product. He stopped me by the exit door and was automatically acting like he was threatened by me and started asking what I had hid inside of my pocket, insisting that I had stolen something. I told him I didn't steal a thing and he walked off, after he had caused a scene. This type of relentless behavior by this police officer will eventually lead to an even worser outcome. Please get this officer out of there immediately, it seems that many others have had the same experience as me. read more

I remember coming to this store when I was small enough to fit inside the grocery cart seat. It's come a long ways since then as they seem to be clicking with the demand for healthier options. With a Whole Foods in town, I imagine that they'd slip behind in the game if they didn't start offering more Organic and non-GMO products. Heck, I even stopped shopping here when Whole Foods opened but now after finding that Bel Air offers some of my basic go-to items at cheaper prices, it might become a habit again. Oh...and SCORE! They sell Coconut Bliss!!! -My favorite vegan, organic, non-GMO ice cream. The store looks very nice, is very clean and has self check-outs. We went into this belair today to grab a few balloons for our niece for her kindergarten graduation. With nobody working at the floral desk we went to go find help. We found Rose a super pleasant clerk...not!!! Who blatantly ignored me after numerous attempts to get her attention, she was not with a customer just talking to another employee. My wife said excuse me Ms.Rose can we possibly get help with the balloons, she gave us a dirty look and said uhhhhh and paged somebody from produce. Not so much as a sorry about the wait I'll send someone over....nothing. The man who helped us from produce was great but Rose could use some customer service training...really hope you guys are union and required to keep her because she doesn't benefit the service standards in your store. read more

Like the Safeway across the street, employees tend to smoke near the bike rack. However, it's usually only a couple people who work in the hot food part of the store. A bigger problem is that other people, customers or what-have-you, sit on a bench next to the rack and smoke. Why? There's a big, ugly ashtray, that's why. Bel Air, shame on you for actually encouraging smoking at the bike rack. The employees are generally very nice except this one gal who seems to have a perpetual head cold and is always in a bad mood. Also, there's this manager who is way too in-your-face cheerful, and I've heard her give employees a talking-to right on the sales floor! Not cool. If you aren't signed up for a Something Extra card, don't shop here. You're subsidizing everyone else who is signed up in a BIG way. read more

I love shopping at this location. It is always clean, bright and everyone is very helpful. It also has a post office, flower shop and awesome deli counter. This grocery store pretty much fits all of my needs for easy one stop shopping/errand running close to home. There is also a coffee counter with lots of yummy treats. The only down fall is that is a tad pricey in some areas. It is still the grocery store that I shop the most. read more
