Lots of beautiful artwork for sale, great wine, and the best music! They have a whole wall of records and it is an immense collection. Stop in, drink some wine, beer, or other non alcoholic drinks and relax. Listen to the great music, check out the upstairs, and then enjoy your time! It's a great location and super close to Doco.

We went on a Wednesday night around 8 PM, it was really chill and there were a few people here and there. They also have an upstairs seating area, which is nice and cozy as well! Service was nice and attentive, when we walked in, we were given a menu about what drinks were being served and we were given a quick overview on the days throughout the week and what events are being held in what music is being played, which is really cool! We were also told they do have a record day where you can come in and bring your own vinyl and they will play it along with other records that customers bring which is so fun! Overall, the place is super small and cozy, great aesthetic and it is in downtown so there isn't a dedicated parking lot.

They offer a large inside and outside area to relax. There is a table where you can help with a puzzle. We walked up to order and they had an interesting selection of beers. We ordered a flight each to try several beers. They also offer some food options but we had already eaten lunch. We found a couple of comfy chairs but there was a large birthday party going on which the people were blocking the area and were quite noisy so had to move to another area. The beers were good and ordered a pint. There were several others I wanted to try so will have to go back to check them out.

Let's start with the positives: the service, the vibes, and the space are wonderful! I can't comment on the food. The beer though. I got a West Coast Pilsner, we literally came here because that is my favorite style of beer. The beer looked like a maple milkshake. It was murky with a grey-brown tint. Badly oxidized, and tasted horrible. I sent it back and got a lager...it looked good visually, it was bright anc clear. Then I tasted it and it was bursting with the buttery flavors of diacetyl. This beer had a slick, buttered popcorn jelly belly finish, rather than a crisp, mild hoppy bite. Maybe their ales are better than there lagers, but I didn't want to send back yet another beer. Maybe I should've though.

Wish I could speak to the food, but I didn't order anything (little late in the day for me to eat). But the menu looks hella interesting. I WILL speak about the service and beer selection. This place has a CRAZY good selection of brews considering its size. One of the best in the area actually. The bartender (Ming) is exactly what this kinda space needs: super personable, knowledgeable, supportive of the brand, and with a seriously interesting backstory. Dude plays for The Aquabats! Not afraid to talk to ppl, and understands the right balance between sharing his story and asking about yours. Unpretentious, comfortable in his skin, and clearly a good dude at heart. That's the kinda person you wanna support. Catch him on the weekends! I'll be back for more. I'm thinking there's a reason this place has a monster Yelp score...

I almost don't want to write this review because part of me wants to keep this place a secret…read more.. but I'm guessing I'm probably just late to the party and everyone already knows what a gem it is. The tomato sake bombs are a must!! They have an extensive beer menu, loved their suggestions. Bf had the chimichurri dog -- spicy link, pickled purple onions, and mayo -- and I went with the Chicago dog with mustard, relish, tomato, and dill pickle on a poppy seed bun. Everything was excellent, and a little different from the usual. Also, the bartender last night was so nice and incredibly helpful -- he gave great recommendations and just made the whole experience even better. The vibe, the creativity, and how unexpectedly good everything was made it totally worth it. We will be back!

So the wifey and I are day drinking our way thru Oak Park on this particular Saturday and as we…read morewere kinda walking aimlessly after a few beers at a local brewery-we ran across this simple unassuming door with the name The Butterscotch Den written across it-it's kinda crazy because I had no idea where this bar was and for sure didn't know it was in Oak Park-I couldn't have been happier as this bar has been high on my must visit list for months. When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

I love the Ambiance because it is history here and I do love the locations where it is in the alleyway in Old Sacramento which is really amazing. . I usually get the menu items that they recommend like a French 75 to a margarita and pina colada and Mai Tai and more. They have really great quality drinks and the price is really reasonable like for example my French 75 was only $10. . They also serve food until 2:00 a.m. in the morning where usually places stop serving around 1:30 a.m. . I really like coming here to eat and have really great drinks and visit with friends too. Some of the food that we order is their burgers which is really legit and it comes with french fries. I also got some of their loaded fries which was really yummy. Overall hope this review helps and thank you for reading and have a yelpastic day.

She explained the story of the big paintings of Italy were painted by the owner's father in law. It was truly beautiful. Also, she was so incredibly kind and had a great smile anytime she came to check on us! Anyway, the food was just as great as the service. We tried their bambina pizza and truffle pizza (bambina's style), truffle fries, and shrimp diavola. My absolute favorite was the truffle pizza. It had a great truffle essence, and was topped with fresh arugula. The portions were also generous, and the presentation was beautiful. I am definitely coming back to try more! Because the only bad part was trying to decide what to eat, since everything looked so delicious!
