I love this store. It is always clean and the staff is always very friendly. I especially love the fact that there is a post office inside. Today I had to go in with my newborn and the cashier helped me get my package together and addressed the label for me when my baby started crying. Everyone was kind and I was able to get in and out. I also love the ecart service and the fact that the first 5 times are free. I have been able to order my groceries online and then just park in the ecart space. The staff then brings my groceries to my car and loads them for me. All of these things are priceless as a new mom! read more

They got great Chinese food seletion with bunch of stuff you dont normally find like whole ducks and pork. Not to mention their deli and your regular supermarket stuff. Awesome customer service. Went to their customer service to send some stuff off to my sister (who lives in other state), and the service was very pleasant. The girl with a red hair was very nice. They did updated floors and rearranged shelves, and it looks nice and clean. However, the floor is way too sleepery, hope they put some carpets in front of BofA ATM machine. read more

My husband and I shop here all the time. I have always felt the people at the deli department have been nice, cheerful and extremely helpful despite sometimes dealing with difficult customers. I have never felt any of the people here have been rude or disrespectful. read more

I do love me some bel air.. Produce particularly. Except they started charging for bags. (Lame) Also today I was there... The person bagging said she could fit my stuff in to 2 bags. The checker told courtesy clerk she charged me for 4... And I look in the bag and 1 of the bags had 1 container of spinach... The other was practically empty. Maybe before they charge for bags they should see how many are actually needed first..I rebagged it so they fit in two, left 2 bags was charged for 4. The whole charging for bag thing just is stupid all together but at least be considerate. I'm going to start asking to bag my own groceries. read more

I love this Bel Air! First off, walking in you have to realize that it's going to be a little more expensive than a Savemart or a Safeway. However, the price difference is negligible because the quality here is superb! Also, take time to learn their new rewards program and you can be earning $20-$30 bucks back every few months along with coupons for stuff you actually buy, crazy huh? I swear, at this location they always have the freshest produce and the produce guys like Nelson and Mark will always go out of their way to help you find something perfectly ripe. Other stores, it looks like a bomb has gone off in their produce section. Andrew the pharmacist is also very knowledgeable and exerts a calm, cool confidence which I appreciate. The store is brightly lit and almost always clean, with many unique products - check out their tiny natural foods frozen section for some cool items! The only drawback is that this store is CONSTANTLY busy and the parking lot is insane trying to navigate through. Tons of soccer moms and elderly people line the aisles, and you'll only find it semi-calm during 7am or around 10:30pm. All the cashiers are super friendly and I've made friends with many of them; I'm always showered with compliments from some like Danielle and Vicky - management take note and give these ladies a raise! Jason the head clerk is a great guy and I'll miss the other head clerk, John. The baggers are always polite and seem to be trained better than other baggers in other grocery stores, I've never had my eggs or bread on the bottom, plus it's nice to have someone walk out with you to unload your cart! Overall, fantastic store and employees, only if you can even find a parking spot. I absolutely love this Bel Air. It's my go to store for groceries and I'm always treated very well. The staff are friendly and I love the fresh produce and deli selections. However, I have a big problem with the employee who does the personal shopping from online purchases. I utilized this service once because I was sick, but after going to the store yesterday and seeing how she handled the food you purchase online....I will NEVER do that again. I would not be shocked if the can foods, she was THROWING, into the cart had dents. She ran around the store not bothering to say excuse me to anyone she bumped into. I think yesterday was the most shocked I've ever been when it came to this store. I'm sorry to say, I'm a bit disappointed and concerned. Everything about this store is great, the cleanliness, friendly, well stocked, knowledgeable and priced right. I purchased Raley's brand sharp cheddar cheese. The inside of the wrapper was wet. What this indicated to me is that the cheese has been frozen. Then I tried to do a medium shred in my food processor and the cheese just crumbled. This is what happens when cheese has been frozen. Please label your cheese as previously frozen. read more

I usually come to Bel-Air to grab soup and bread for a quick lunch. Even though it's a grocery store, the food they prepare is better than most restaurants I've been to (my favorite is the potato coup and the bisque). The store, itself, is also always clean, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. They are readily available to help. I'm happy they are so close by! read more

I went into the deli area to see if I could have a meat and cheese deli tray made and picked up the same day. Normally, the require a 24 hour time frame to have that done, but the staff was good enough to put this together for me. Thank YOU !! I had too many things going and completely forgot to get this ordered but the Bel Air deli manager saved me and I can't thank her enough. I think the store and it's staff are fabulous and I will be returning as well as having friends and family frequent the store. I really can't thank them enough !! read more

Yes, their service is AMAZING -- kind, courteous, helpful. It is what I grew up with (at a different Bel-Air), and so I expect good service, and it is nice to be back near one again. If you prefer mainstream foods, and don't mind conventionally grown food and factory farm produced meats and poultry, then this would easily be a 5-star grocery store. But I don't. It seems to me like a lot of their organic and natural foods have disappeared since the remodel (maybe I am just not finding it all, but there are a lot of things I just can't find). They do have a wide selection of organic produce (they don't say where things were grown as much as they used to, though), and a decent selection of organic dairy and other staples. If they still have Alvarado Street bread, I can't find it, which means their organic breads are very limited. Whenever I read the labels to items from the bakery I seem to come across HFCS or hydrogenated oils, which has been disappointing. And their organic meats and poultry are very few, which is disappointing, considering all the variety they have. Get some Niman Ranch bacon! Carry Diestel turkey meat year round! read more

This store is a great store. Its prices are in line with other Bel Air and Raleys which is higher then other grocers but you probably already know that. The store is clean the people are nice. Its all and everything other reviewers have said. I shop more frequently at a Raleys on Marconi and have not noticed this one little thing that threw me for a loop at this Bel Air. Which has prompted my review to let others know about this.... In the produce area, there are the usual hanging rolls of bags. But some of those bags say "organic" on them and others just regular Bel Air crap. There is a slight color difference in the bags as well. But I have to tell you, when I was shopping, I was looking for the closest roll of bags to use to hold my produce. I did not notice that the bags were different. And of course there's the usual search and find to get a bag in the first place. Once you find a roll, you just take it, you don't look to make sure its not for "organic" only. But when I got to the cashier, I was immediately informed that most cashiers just look at the bag and charge you organic price. I had not bought any organic produce at all, but ended up using three "organic" bags. If it were not for this one honest cashier, apparently I would have been charged organic prices for produce that was not organic. I had no idea. So my review is based on warning everyone of this produce bag difference. Use Organic bags for organic produce and regular bags (if you can find them) for regular produce. I hope that Bel Air does away with the two different bags, as its obvious that they are just trying to make more money off their customers' ignorance of the bag difference. read more

This is my first time using Yelp. I felt like leaving a review was absolutely necessary. I shop at many bel air locations often and its always a decently pleasant experience. However sometimes you can tell the the employees go a little over the top on their niceness and it just seems fake. Yesterday I went to the deli department for a sandwich and some potato salad. It was roughly 1:30pm or so. I was helped by a lady named krystal. This was the very first time I felt like I was talking to an actual person and not a programmed robot. She was easy to talk to and yet still very professional. And she made on one the best sandwiches I think I've ever had. It was just a refreshing experience today dealing with someone who knew the right balance for customer communication. It happens too ofter where it's so over the top with fake smiles and that customer service voice that they use and you just want to run away from them. Krystal was amazing. I'll definitely be back to the deli, especially if shes there. read more

So the manager is unwilling to allow lottery ticket sales at the counter even though the machine has yo be reset after every few people. I understand that other customers need to use the customer service counter but when you have a line out the door this policy makes zero sense. Great store that I have loved for years! I was motivated to write a review after doing ecart for the first time today! I was so impressed by the service rendered that it motivated me to write this review! The groceries were all perfectly selected, I had no random substitutions, and I didn't even leave my car! To top it all off, my shopper, Stacy, left me a very nice handwritten note thanking me for my patronage and gave me a rose! I love this store! The clerks are very friendly and willing to help you locate items if you are unable to find them yourself. The floral department is very accomodating with special requests and the fresh food section is well kept. The best part of this store is Melissa in Playcare. Melissa knows our children and always makes it a point to stop and say hi even if she is not on the clock. Melissa is a jewel of an employee...do what you can to keep her at your store! read more

To get good service at the bakery you have to go in person. They take a long time to answer the phone and when they do, they are not very knowledgable. I had called about nut free mini cupcakes which I have seen there before. I called to confirm they had some in stock, the lady said they don't carry any and never have. I told her I have seen them there before, she continued to say they don't have any so I ended up buying them elsewhere. When I went to pick up my other cake , there they were, a bunch of them right when u walk in with a sticker saying nut free from a nut free facility. So I was a little upset that I wasted time driving around because I listened to the lady's wrong information. The cake I had ordered though was very good and made on short notice so I have to give them credit for that. I have noticed they stopped carrying a lot of items such as the horizon chocolate milk that comes in small boxes, I now have to go to Safeway to get this and other items they no longer carry. They also closed the babysitting area that was really helpful before. I have noticed a lot of these small changes over the past year and I believe it is due to new management. The employees don't seem to be as chipper and friendly as they used to be. They are probably not liking the changes of new management either. I don't shop here as much as I did before but will still go from time to time. read more
