Seems that every time I go to this store lately, I get the moody cashier. I've learned to avoid certain cashiers but then end up with another moody one. I've been reprimanded by one for using the 20 items or less line when i had more than 20 items. Yes, my bad but I never do that and it was a mistake on my part. I can understand being reprimanded if I'm a repeat offender but I am not. Then on a different visit, my 22 month old daughter (who loves buttons) was trying to reach the cashier's wall mounted phone to push the buttons. She couldn't reach them but she gave it her best effort. Then I heard the cashier tell her in a much too stern voice "don't touch that!" There are other professional ways to handle that situation like moving the cart back an inch instead of raising your voice at a small child. That was the last straw for me. I've also heard employees yelling at other employees in front of customers. Not sure what has happened to this store. It wasn't always like this. Hope they can figure out their issues and get company morale back. Sucks to hate your job and I feel like they do. read more

I would like to start this review off saying I was blown away by a particularly young woman. Recently it was a friend of mines birthday and so per usual I drove to bel air and ordered him a cake from the bakery. As I got to the bakery and rang the little bell a nice young woman named shauna came through the doors with a positive attitude and a helping hand to help me order the cake for my occasion. She was extremely helpful and very easy to talk to, I will definitely be ordering another cake for my next occasion. read more

Sambazón vegan energy açaì drinks are here finally (back of produce section). They have a number of vegan protein items in the refrigerated and freezer section. It'd be nice if they had a few more sales on the veg stuff. It's quite pricey here. Frozen vegetarian/vegan items are quite a bit cheaper it seems at Grocery Warehouse at corner of Folsom and Coloma. read more

Bel Air is one of the few grocery stores I frequent for a few reasons... 1. Exceptional customer service! Every time I come here every employee I encounter is very friendly and helpful! Every try I go I'm asked at least once if I'm finding everything okay, then again by the cashier if I did find everything okay and then told to have a nice day by an employee when leaving. I'm not a needy shopper and don't enjoy being bombarded by employees. However, at Bel Air they create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere without doing this! Love it! 2. Great selection! Bel Air offers an array of organic, gluten free, vegan and other healthy options. They also have high end cheeses sprouted wheat breads and a lot of yummy desserts in their bakery! It's hard to find grocery stores fairly priced that offer even some of these options. 3. Parking and location are very convenient! This location is right off of Sunrise and has a large enough parking lot to always find a spot. read more

Terrible, horrible, deplorable customer service- Two packets of Lindt chocolates I had purchased there turned out to be bad. I went there to ask for an exchange or refund. Unfortunately, I did not have a receipt. To my utter dismay, the manager said that without a receipt nothing can be done. When I asked whether with my rewards card, the receipt can be pulled out, the manager wanted the exact date. Very sure about the date since the next day was my daughter's birthday, I gave the date. After talking with someone on the phone, he said there was no Lindt purchased on that day, 25 th September. After reaching home I called the customer service online who pulled up the receipt and sent a copy to my email. Indeed both the packets were on the item list. Something which I could do, why couldn't the store manager do? Why this utter disregard for a customer who had taken the time, trouble and effort? Why no help was offered or steps were taken? Is the store not bothered about the quality of products, and check/ pull out the products if need be? Those chocolates were for children who were disappointed which in turn was saddening and frustrating to me. This store has let me down. read more

I like this store but felt one thing worth saying is that if you buy fruit there you can't consume it the day you buy it! They sell it so early in the picking time that everything has to ripen before consuming. I get that it is perishable but isn't there a happy medium? read more

Reina was SUCH AN AMAZING HELP! I shopped here today and rented two Redboxes and accidently left them in my cart. 3-4 hours later I got excited to watch them and realized I completely left them outside in the cart area. I just called and hoped that maybe someone may have returned them inside and luckily someone did. What an angel. Called and spoke to Reina just now and she located them in lost and found and returned them to Redbox for me per request as I didn't want leave home during dinner. Thank you so much!!! read more

One of the pleasures of living in Fair Oaks is the proximity of our local Gold River BelAir. Over 35 years, the staff of this store (and the one that preceded it) have consistently gone above and beyond for us customers. I can't begin to recount the stories! Our manager is ever-present and a peach. Many of the employees address us by name. The quality of the meat, fish, produce is excellent. Eric, the wine manager, is knowledgeable and consistently helpful. No coincidence that BelAir/Raley's is often high on the list of Top Groceries nationwide. If anyone is testy about the stock and service during this unusual time of COVID-19, please recognize that supply lines are seriously challenged now and staff are risking their lives daily to serve us. Bel Air reminds me of Ralphs but just tries harder to be something more. The selection, layout, stock maintenance and employees are all good. Though I like the deli and bakery section, I just don't find the quality of the food they put out here worth it. Plus, I feel you can get a better deal and/or better quality produce at different grocery stores. Overall, Bel Air is a nice grocery chain and it's easy to see why it can be a local favorite. However, in terms of overall satisfaction, I feel this store is just alright. read more

I love this Bel Air before the remodel and even more after! I am here 2-3 times a week usually. It is very clean, spacious, comfortable and easy to shop. The staff are friendly and the service is good. The store is well managed because they aren't short staffed and the employees seem happy. The product is stocked and the wait is not too bad most times. Extras like the postal center, ECart, Peet's etc make it great. I am able to beat the mail person and getting that bill, package or letter out fast and same day. The Peet's coffee is pretty good. They have the usual coffees and teas. The area in front of Peet's is a great place to relax and have coffee or a bite to eat. The bathrooms are right in the area too. The added benefit is having Bel Air bakery right next to Peet's coffee for a bagel or donut. Their ready to make food section is large and with a microwave and other supplies, many people eat a meal there. There is banking, pharmacy, sushi, etc. The deli is one of the best. The sandwich counter and deli are together, unlike some Raley's. This makes it faster and easier to get what you need. Small town feel and big town selection keep me coming back. No real cons. Parking can be jammed so shop off peak if you can't walk from farther out. Clientele is often older so sometimes you have to move slower too but it can be a good thing to slow the hectic pace down. Prices are higher than Winco or Safeway but this store makes you forget about it. I love it. It is tied for top supermarket in the area. The store is a one stop shop in a one stop plaza here in Gold River. Ummm...I almost didn't want to share because I don't want it any busier! read more

I live rather close to this Raleys. The fruit and veggie swction is good. However, i notice that anything with an expiration i must check to see if it hasnt expired yet. I have gone numerous times and either the yogurt has expired or is shortly( e.g. 1-2 days) will expire. This keeps me away more often than not. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store and I enjoy going here. The parking is easy and the store is very clean. They employees are helpful and always direct me to the correct aisle whenever I'm looking for something. I like the bakery department- the fresh baked breads are a perfect pick up item right before dinner and I can never resist the snickerdoodle cookies. My only complaint would have to be the meat. I've never had any problems with their meat but ever since they switched to Harris Ranch, the quality has gone down. I've noticed that the meat doesn't keep as well as before- freezing or refrigerating doesn't help. One of the first times I bought these Harris ranch steaks (porterhouse if I remember correctly) and I immediately froze them for a day or two before defrosting them in the refrigerator. I noticed some of the steaks were brown and when I opened the packaging they had a rancid smell. I threw them all out. The second time I bought a rib eye and refrigerated it overnight. When I took it out of the fridge to grill for lunch the very next afternoon (less than 24 hours after I bought it) the edges were already brown, slimy and it smelled rancid. I Had to throw away that $12 steak. I asked a few friends who also shop at Raleys/ Bel air and I was really surprised to hear that they have had very similar experiences with their meat. I really hope they do something about this, I've been going here for years and it would be too inconvenient to go to another grocery store. read more

I love this store absolutely. Although a new Riley's opened closer to my home, I make the longer drive to the Bel Air in Rancho because the staff are all wonderfully pleasant and helpful. And after being a loyal customer for 10+ years, most of them call me by name. Bel Air is more expensive than other stores for canned goods and baking staples; however their fresh fruit and veggie department, meat department and deli can't be beat. read more

A nice store all around. The people are friendly and helpful and the aisles are organized. It does tend to get a little crowded on the weekends. The interior is a bit dated, not as nice as say a Nugget, but overall not too bad. I went to a Raley's a few weeks ago and really noticed the difference in service level and cleanliness. Prices were the same for what I was getting that day, so that really made me regret not driving the extra mile or two to go to Bel Air instead. read more

I have never written a review before, but I had to share an experience that I had with Bel Air's ecart program yesterday. I suffer from debilitating chronic migraines and had been unable to get to the grocery store for more than a month. I was out of everything, but was just unable to go grocery shopping. So I decided to try ecart, which lets you place your order on-line, then go to the store to pick it up. It's like having a personal shopper for your groceries! Needless to say, it was a large order, and I was very pleasantly surprised to receive two calls from the folks at Bel Air as they were filling the order to let me know that they didn't have something and ask if I wanted something else in its place, and to ask if certain substitutions were okay (chicken baby food in place of turkey ok; Campbell's Select Chicken Noodle Soup in place of Campbell's Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup not okay). You don't even have to go into the store to get your order. They have two parking spaces at the south end of the lot clearly marked "ecart". There is an intercom, and you give them your name and they bring your groceries to the car. (One thing, you have to hold the button down when you speak and release the button to listen, like a Walkie-Talkie. Not particularly intuitive in a world used to the two-way speakers at the fast-food drive-through, that doesn't require any button holding by the customer.) Two of Bel Air's fabulous staff members brought my groceries to my car in about 2 or 3 minutes. I was very impressed with how fast it was. The groceries had already been rung up and my rewards card number had been accurately entered. Normally, they have a mobile payment system so that you don't have to go inside or surrender your credit card at all, but it was down the day I was there. The young man who waited on me said that it had been down for about a week. While I'm confident that it will be operational the next time I use this service, this was the only negative part of the experience. I tried Safeway's delivery service last week, and although it was wonderful to have the groceries come directly to my front door, I actually preferred the Bel Air program. I don't care for Safeway's produce (I have tried several times, but have never managed to get a good apple from Safeway), and Bel Air's produce is fabulous. I will definitely use this service on a regular basis. I am retired, but I wish that this service had been available when I was working. It would have been so convenient to just stop on the way home from work to pick up my groceries, instead of trying to fit grocery shopping into my busy schedule. read more

Ive worked locally in the area for the past five years and stop by here at least once to twice a day. All the staff I have ever encoutered are always Friendly and have quick service. Fruit and veggies are always fresh and there seafood section always has great selections. Store and parking lot always remains clean. read more

This is my favorite grocery in Rancho to go too, especially since its so close to my house. The best part (to me) about this store is that they have daycare for the kids, yes im serious! You can drop your kids off (little kids) till 7pm when they close and they can stay in the playarea for up to 2 hours while you shop! They have toys & Tv to entertain the kids and it makes shopping for mom peaceful. HUGE plus for me! They also have great quality produce, meats, cheese etc. I dont buy everything here because it is a little pricey, but I do go here at least once a week. Plus they have Red Box, so that is awesome as well. read more

The pharmacy is great! I give them 5 stars. The staff was especially helpful when trying to get my prescription filled. My doctor had wrote down the wrong name. Even the pharmacist called my doctors office. The grocery store is always clean and the staff is always very helpful. The fruit is usually very good. The priced on fruit and veggies are a little more expensive as are the rest of store. They do however have $5 Mondays which offer some good deals. They rarely have wild fish. If they do have wild fish it's usually previously frozen. read more

Although I have trouble finding things sometimes in this store, I have to say the employees are very friendly and helpful. Recently, I needed a special cake and they really came through. I am grateful for all of the organic produce too. I do hate how you can't really get through without having to use their rewards program. Twice I have purchased seafood from here. Shrimp and some cod. the fish is disgusting dry and rotten smelling the shrimp smelled and tasted of ammonia. The seafood person at this store should be fired. Will never buy seafood from this store again. Get it together. Your standards should match your high prices. read more

Great store with huge selection and personable staff. I like the deli which makes a tasty sandwich and offers yummy soup. This store comes in very handy for work events, I was able to cater an entire event (flowers, food, beverages, etc.) on the cheap. Gotta love that. read more

Shopped here for 20 years. Recently have noticed multiple dogs in the store. They have been in baskets and long leashes. I have seen them sniffing and chewing products within the isles. All of these are both federal and state health code violations. I asked the manager and the response was that they ask people to remove dogs from baskets when they see it. Corporate responded after my second letter claiming there was nothing they could do other than ask a single question: Is it a service dog? This is a simple way to avoid the law and not properly and legally confront these continuing violations. Within a couple more shopping visits I watched the cashier retrieve doggie treats which were being kept within the checkout area to hand feed the dogs people bring through. Yet another violation. Hand feed the dogs and then ring up my lightly wrapped sandwich?! We will never shop at any Raleys owned stores. read more

I have to give it to this store. A few years ago I was put off by the higher prices and would go out of my way to other stores. As time went by I was won over completely by the ever growing selection of organic, vegan and specialty items I used to be forced to the big high priced WF for...I love you but you know who you are. The main thing that did it for me is the amazing celebrity treatment they give my little boy. They are so damn sweet and loving every time we go in there I can't even describe it. They talk and oodle all over him and blow up and give him balloons. Just so warm. They are also always very willing and ready to take my number down and inquire about special orders for me when they are out of an item or don't carry it. I have never met a less then pleasant person that works here. Even when the barkery is closed and my little guy wants a treat the manager is more then willing to jump behind the counter and get icing on their shirt. I'll be shopping here for years. This is by far my favorite local full service grocery store; from the friendly pharmacist, Martin, to the checkers up front, (most of whom I'm on a first name basis with since I've been going there for almost 10 years) and everyone in between. This Bel Air is the best combination between a corporate store and a small mom and pop establishment. Competitive prices like a corporate chain but friendliness of a small grocer. Butchers are willing to cut or order whatever they can for you, deli will honor special requests, within reason, and almost everyone has a smile for you everyday!
