Came across this spot very randomly. I'm not sure it was even around the last time I was in Astoria a month ago. Nonetheless I was looking for a new place to review so I gave this a shot. The place itself is narrow up front but has a vast seating area in the back with outside dining which looked absolutely divine on a beautiful day like today. I liked the service, the lady by the register was very accommodating, I liked the overall vibe of the place. One thing I do have a slight aversion to would be the food and not the overall taste of the food because it was delicious. However the 2 empanadas I got and the Mango juice with it came up to $19.50 and it didn't fill me up like I would've preferred. I was testing out what I wanted out of the place so I wasn't really looking for anything filling but paying almost $20 for what I got felt very overpriced and didn't match the value and consistency of the food that I got. I would be more forgiving of this review if what I had was $5 -$7 less than what I spent. This place prolly got beat over the head with the Trump Tariffs too for me to pay $5 and change for a single empanada. This place has promise but my pockets aren't that deep to make this a regular place nor is the food heavy enough for me to feel satisfied. Might be awhile before I return here.

A fantastic addition to the neighborhood for authentic Brazilian coffee, pastries and desserts. The owner puts a lot of care and attention into everything, and will warm up your pastries without even asking so you can enjoy them in their optimal state. The space is huge with patio seating and lots of tables to camp out and work. For bites, I highly recommend the codfish balls (bolinhos de bacalhau) and you can't skip the infamous cheese bread (pão de queijo)! I also fell in love with the coconut bread, which was dense, moist and chewy. The owner really sources out authentic ingredients found in Brazil and I'm especially grateful that so many of these pastries are naturally gluten free from using mostly cassava, rice or corn flour. Everything is so delicious and the coffee is fantastic too! Highly recommend this place, right off the Steinway R/M trains.

Bela Aurora has great Brazilian snacks & coffee tucked away in Astoria- what's not to love? I had a chicken & cheese coxinha as well as a pão de queijo- both were great but the coxinha definitely stood out if I had to choose between the two. I also had their coffee which was strong & tasty. All in all, I'd definitely be back if I was ever in the area.

Definitely one of the better Brazilian bakeries in the city. I found the brigadeiros creamier here than the ones at Brigadeiro Bakery in the West Village (not to mention far cheaper). The pão de queijo was slightly tougher than I generally prefer (my favorite remains PDQ Bakery on the UES).

Delicious chocolate cake and coffee await you at this recently opened Brazilian coffee shop on Steinway Street. I'd been longing for a stable long-term replacement to the old Love Cafe, which kept opening and closing, reopening and closing to the point of never opening. Then one day, emerging from the subway, I noticed a brand new cafe and decided to head in and try out a dessert or two. I was not disappointed. Before me were beautifully arranged displays of cakes and desserts. The dark chocolate cake looked amazing, so I ordered it. The cake was fluffy and creamy, and really filling. Overall, a very satisfying experience!

This place is well-organized, friendly, and feels like a hidden gem, though they could serve more substantial food. The outdoor patio offers a cozy, backyard-like atmosphere with charming scenery. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The food selection is ideal for an intimate South American-inspired gathering, making it a fitting venue for events like a baby shower or Sunday brunch. I visited for brunch and found the setting very welcoming. The staff at the counter were exceptionally friendly and fluent in both English and Spanish. I highly recommend this spot.

What a great Brazilian cafe addition to the area! Newly opened about a month ago. It's right next to the Steinway subway stop Broadway entrance/exit stairway. Great place to grab some cheese bread bites and coffee for on the run or sit in. The entrance is small and narrow, but they have a huge indoor seating in the back and also a big outdoor seating in the patio. Plenty of tables and seats. The staff are friendly and also answered any questions. It looks like a nice place to get some snacks, sandwiches or dessert. I had their cheese bread bites. So delicious and chewy, yummy. I also had the chicken croquet and the beef risole. Next time I'll have to try their sandwiches.

This seemingly tiny coffee shop is located right by the Steinway subway exit/entrance. I say "seemingly tiny" because in terms of space, the initial impression of space is deceiving. The entrance is narrow and this is where you place your order to the lovely lady baristas, who can be overheard speaking Portuguese. The showcase is located in the narrow corridor as well--and this is where sweets and treats, notably Brazilian--are displayed. Everything is beautiful and clean. My friends had met up and eaten dinner and all we wanted was a good cup of Joe and I ordered a hot latte with caramel flavor. It was good and strong. We had no intention of sticking around, given the narrow corridor but lo and behold, as we walked a few steps up (a little incline--not at all excruciating), there was a very nice seating area and a restroom. I cannot wait to go back and try more goodies and enjoy them in the back area.

Truly exceptional service! I felt very welcome and at home. Great selection of desserts and baked goods. Lots of great seating + an outdoor patio as well!

Cute seating area with also entrance to the backyard patio.

Amazing new Brazilian cafe spot on Steinway. Real cozy and comfortable spot to come snack and have a coffee. Love this new spot

The location had two sections for dining and a bar area to watch the game. Here's what we ate: The Supreme ($18) was my personal favorite. Very filling and absolutely worth it. The Triple Lindy ($20) is perfect for sharing. We went popcorn chicken, Korean fried wings and spicy mozzarella sticks and they all delicious Smash Burger (2) Combo ($19) was simple but done right For my daughter, the Grizzly Kids Meal ($12) is a solid option. She chose the cheeseburger/fries option with apple juice. To Drink The Kiwi Passionfruit Lemon Drop ($14) was a tropical take on a lemon drop. 4/5 Cherry Bomb ($12) a sweet burbon base drink. 3.5/5. Great food, quality ingredients, and something for everyone. Would definitely come back.

Wasn't too busy when I went in so I was able to find somewhere to sit easily. The waitress noticed me almost instantly and did a solid job serving what I wanted out of the restaurant. She seemed to be the only one there which I hope wasn't the case but with only 3 people including me in there at the time, I'm sure she can manage. I got the 2 Smashburger w/ Fries lunch special, Root Beer & a Chocolate Milkshake supposedly made from organic ice cream and was pretty good. Felt good biting down on some smashburgers after I haven't had some in a minute and the fries were decent. Was enough to fill my appetite and considerably priced considering the day and age we live in considering financial status. Another solid joint in the lovely neighborhood of Astoria.

It was the truck's first day in this location in front of Citibank, across from Rego Park Ikea. The cuisine options are mostly Greek/Mediterranean. I ordered a pork souvlaki stick and a lamb gyro platter. The pork souvlaki stick was quite tender and somewhat juicy, however, it wasn't hot and lacked flavor. Honestly, a pinch more salt and pepper would do the trick probably. The pita it came with was fluffy. The lamb gyro platter was quite tasty, but the star of the show was the extremely flavorful and not so oily rice. Their tzatziki sauce was quite thick and needs more cucumbers, but the salad was very refreshing. As for service, the owner was friendly and accommodating. I appreciated his willingness to explain his food and making recommendations. I wish him luck and will come by when in the area.
