Within minutes, he told me it was at the warehouse, that he would email me the quote, and could put me on the Sat. delivery/install/haul away schedule. He phoned to ensure everything was clear, and I gave him my card no. The quote was more than reasonable (I had searched other sites!) By Sat at 11, the microwave had arrived, was installed, and the job finished! The installers were efficient and delightful to deal with! In my long life I have NEVER had such a seamless purchasing experience, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! All in all, it gives me hope that the right way to do business hasn't disappeared altogether. Applianceland, Copper and the installers were very impressive!

They determined that water had leaked and gotten a sensor wet, checked all the connections, ran a partial cycle, and repositioned the unit slightly to help prevent any future leaking. They then routed the drain line more efficiently and even corrected a small water filter leak they noticed while putting items back under the sink. We will definitely use Appliance Guys again if needed.

My refrigerator fan continued to run for a number of days. I also have an icemaker that is not working an wanted a quick check as to cause of it not working. I checked vents and cleaned the underneath coils before I had him come out. The provider came out and determined that it was a faulty icemaker that was constantly running and generating heat causing refrigerator to constantly run . This seems reasonable. He gave me an estimate of $285 for a new replacement icemaker. He removed the icemaker and was at my house 15 to 20 minutes total. Icemaker removal appears to have improved the problem. He also had me take the back off and clean that area after he left. My complaint is that I requested an estimate and range of likely charges for two most likely causes of repair before provider came out. If you do not have that basic information you have no idea what the diagnostic and likely final repair fee will be. We missed each another on the phone a couple of times but he could have left me a voice mail nmessage with his pricing. He did come over in the time frame that he promised but never gave me an estimate of basic trip charge or labor rate before arriving at my house. If I would have known that he was going to charge me a trip charge of $105 on top of a labor rate of $80 an hour I would have not have used him. The extremely high trip charge negates the advantage of using a local vendor. The trip to my house from his office is 2.7 miles and 5 to 10 minutes depending upon traffic. I would have likely used a vendor that sells replacement refrigerators just in case a major repair is needed for an old refrigerator that is not worth it. I would then have generated good will with the vendor on a new purchase. Homewyse website estimates a typical labor repair rate for my area of $55 to $97 per hour so labor rate is reasonable but trip charge is not and should have been disclosed as requested before his visit. Ice maker charge appears high as typical replacement whirlpool icemakers are available in the $75-130 range from various vendors. If my plumbing is fine as I believe, I would expect about 30 minutes to 45 minutes labor in the repair. With high trip charge and apparent high pricing of replacement part not a reasonable offer on the ice maker in my opinion. I have rejected the icemaker repair offer. Because of his odd pricing structure I will not likely use him again.

Our second great contractor in a week (Cook Electric being the other). In an age where a lot of people would just throw up their hands, say it can't be fixed, and charge an arm and a leg, Dan was a great find. I can't say enough good things about him or his company.
