I ordered a pepperoni pizza along with a glass of wine, and both were absolutely delicious. The pizza was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor--the kind of comfort food that pairs so well with a good wine. The wine itself was smooth, enjoyable, and really elevated the whole experience. What truly stood out, though, was the service. I had forgotten to grab a Coke, and the staff member helping me was kind enough to go above and beyond by bringing me a bottle. Stopped in for a quick visit to start off our day! Nice building and clean, but felt a little awkward in the space. Staff was nice enough, but when we arrived there was a dog roaming around and staff seemed bothered. May be it was just an off day and although we won't be returning I hope they continue to succeed. Belgian Horse Winery is such a fun hidden gem! We visited with a group of 10 for one of their live music nights, and every single one of us had a great time. The atmosphere is what really makes this place special. We lucked out with perfect weather, listened to great live music, enjoyed the beautiful outdoor setting, and just relaxed for a few hours. It's one of those places where you lose track of time. The food was surprisingly good! The cheese pizza was delicious, and don't skip the corn salad--it was fresh and so flavorful. Between the wine, wine slushies, and a nice variety of beers, everyone in our group found something they loved. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. Just came out for their live music night, and it was such a lovely evening. They had two food trucks in addition to their own cheese and pepperoni pizzas. They have started to charge an entrance fee, but it's only $5 per car. What a bargain! Absolutely the worst experience I've had. Completely blindsided by being accused of "suspiciously passing around something" in the parking lot. Mind you this this is front of EVERYONE. Staff did not concede their beliefs and my entire party was asked to leave the premises. Some of others were asked to leave and left without having their unfinished wine re-bottled (which is illegal when traveling). Never been more embarrassed for an accusation in my life. This is was posted to their Facebook page under reviews. However they blocked me and removed my comment turns out they did this to several of the left negative reviews. We stopped in to do a little wine tasting. It's a very nice place. The atmosphere is very inviting. We were greeted on entry. They do sell food here as well which we will try on our next visit. The gentleman who helped us was extremely ved all the photos on the bottles. Just some outstanding wines I even had to purchase 2 bottles to take. It was truly a treat to have this experience at this place. I really enjoyed the gift section which had t- shirts and other things for sale. They don't ship wine but I hope that changes in the future. I was visiting from California and would love to get some shipped to me. Lots if cancelled shows this summer due to uncooperative weather. Food trucks:pork both pulled and tenderloin. Jamaican which wasn't that goid and had 45 min waits. Doughnuts. Ice custard Definite high point was "Stella Luna and the Satellites." Lead singer has an incredible range and no tonal issues. You listen to them and wonder why they haven't hit it big. Next high point was the Blueberry Wine slushees. And the weather was perfect. Only negative was the standing water on the corn crib foundations. Too bad no one thought to sweep them off. My wife and I visited Belgian Horse Winery over the Summer. We have family in the area that recommend them and we felt compelled to try given the fact there are so few winery's in East Central Indiana. The winery is in the Indiana sticks with corn. I could not tell you how I got there because GPS was not cooperating either. So google it, or call directly if you're having issues. Driving onto the property on a hot Indiana Summer I was impressed with the beauty of the surrounding farm land. The main building winery is a renovated barn, so a lot of character. The owners home is adjacent. I found the dirt/gravel lot in great condition with no debris. A step inside and WOW! The bar was in the middle and lots of displays wine related. Everything was well kept and showed nicely. A friendly female staffer took no time to give us a howdy and provide tastings. Both my wife and I love reds, so we tried the Cabernet. It was dark, bold and had a tremendous finish. We ordered two glasses and ends up take several bottles with us along with a pair of stemless glasses. The cool thing about this place is an offering of wine slushies, not easy to find. The large upstairs area is used for live music which I hear is a big draw. It felt a little more like a church sanctuary than a club. But no judgement. They use the upstairs for events such as weddings and are booked up in busy Summer months. The outside patio is also a special events area. A wedding had occurred just hours before our arrival. See pic of the set up with chairs. This is a really lovely winery to visit, in a rural area just east of Pendleton. Years ago, the surrounding property was a Belgian horse farm, as suggested in the business name. I attended a business meeting on the second floor which is a large banquet space, perfect for privates events or parties. On my way out, I did a wine tasting and purchased a bottle of Uncle Fred, the peach wine. All the wines are named after family members or pets. If you like sweeter, fruitier wines, this place is for you! The owners are a father/son team and couldn't be nicer. Sounds like they host popular outdoor summer concerts that attract thousands of people. Note the main parking lot is not very large, but there could've been another area I missed. read more

We went to the Winery on April 24th. (It's becoming a habit..lol). They had Slushies... woo hoo! Peach Bellini is my absolute favorite! They also had Strawberry Mango.. not my fav, and Pink Elephant. OMG what can I say. Great atmosphere for a outdoor music venue. We saw Gordon Bonham; they were AMAZING!!! We got there early to make sure we got a good seat and parking; we did. We had great Catawba wine for the ladies and 765 for the men. Payne's fish and chips were wonderful as normal. Also had some very delicious Lemon Meringue ice cream and a scoop of Basic bean. This ice cream is so good and huge scoops. So good on a hot night. Such a great night with super weather and super music. Make sure to visit you will not be disappointed. read more

When I drive to an out of the way location with the specific point of a wine tasting, I have the bar set fairly high. So glad this place exceeded my expectations! What used to be an old farm for Belgian Horses, has been converted to a winery and gathering place. The horse barn went through an extensive overhaul with a tasting and seating room on the main floor and a stage and gathering area upstairs. The main floor is filled with dark wood trimming and has the tasting counter on the right side as you enter. The gentleman behind the counter encouraged me to look around after inquiring if I had been there before. There were a few items for sale besides the bottle of wine that were displayed. I decided a tasting was the way to go. For $5, I got three samples with an additional $1 per sample over that. At first I thought that rather high compared to other wineries I've been to, but the server explained that I would get to keep the wine glass (non-stemmed but with the Belgian Horse logo). He also suggested that I could get a free sample of the orange fruit wine slushy thrown into my tasting. I started with a Chardonnay that was light and tasty, but not oakey like some others I've tasted. I thought it would make a great wine to have with dinner. I then moved onto a blend called "Coffee Infused Syrah". This was another delicious wine that really had a pronounced coffee taste. My third selection was from the fruit wines, a Blackberry "Aunt Minnie". The fruit wines are all named after family members and the labels use old family photos (monochrome) to represent the naming. The Aunt Minnie is the most popular wine they sell. It is more of a sipping wine due to its deep and sweet taste. Great for an after dinner taste. The server mentioned his favorite was the Raspberry "Cousin Elaine" which was lighter and more tart than the blackberry. I went ahead and tasted it....great choice. I bought a bottle of it too! I didn't forget to sample the Peach "Uncle Fred" slushy which has peach bellini added to the mix before freezing. OMG! This was so good! It is really popular on Wednesday evenings when the winery has live music and folks want to stay cool while listening. I thought it also very cool that the former bases for the grain silos (large round and concrete) were cleaned and connected to form a patio for the outdoor concerts. They have a small stage by one remaining silo as well. Easy to find in the country of Middleton, Indiana. Walked into the tasting room that is a renovated livestock barn and was promptly greeted by staff. The tastings are $5 for 3 samples and a souvenior seamless logo wine glass. I really enjoyed the catawba and wine slushies. The tasting bar could accommodate nearly 15 people but there was also a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very personable and friendly. I'm lucky this amazing slice of heaven isn't closer to my house, because I'm pretty sure I'd pitch a tent and live on the property of Belgian Horse. Part of me is hesitant to leave a glowing review for fear that it will become too crowded from everyone checking it out, but these fabulous people deserve every bit of kudos for their wonderful establishment!! I'm seriously obsessed with Belgian Horse Winery, from the wines to the slushies to the live events to the employees: every time I visit, I leave with a smile (and multiple bottles of their amazing vino). They offer tastings for a very nominal fee, which includes your choice of 3 wines and a beautiful stemless wineglass to take home. Even if you're not a big wine connoisseur, I guarantee you'll find at least one wine that you enjoy; their selection isn't huge, but it's very high quality. Once you've finished your wine tasting, make sure to buy a few bottles and a large frozen wine slushy to savor outside on their beautiful patio. The lady working the night we stopped was funny and easy to talk to. Her appreciation for wines was evident. They have a large selection of shopping as well. We enjoyed every wine we tried. This is our second visit to the Wednesday night live act! Last time we used the food truck time we brought Pizza king. Chardonnay is outstanding. I like dry my husband likes sweet.... This is a wine we can both drink. I think we need to master the art of bringing something light to Eat and then try a different one each Wednesday night. I have been wanting to try this place since it opened! The sign on interstate 70 is the only reason I knew of it. Wonderful customer service! A very nice variety of wine and wine slushys. The tasting is the best bargain! But really, the $6 glass of Chardonnay is a great deal as well! I highly suggest it. They have a wonderful peaceful outdoor seating area. Bring a good book and relax! I love this place because it is a beautifully restored barn, the grounds are rolling & lovely, the staff is engaging & helpful, and the wine isn't bad. It is surprising to find anything out in Middletown, let alone a rare find like this winery. You are welcome to bring in any snacks or food that you would like to accompany the wine. There are also many nights where they have live music upstairs or downstairs or outside. Last night we brought bread & cheeses and dips and fruits to snack on while we drank wine and listened to an acoustic trio. There was a large crowd with all the tables upstairs being full. Spent time at the winery on Saturday here in December. The staff was great! Welcoming and informative. Loved hearing the family history behind the wines. The interior is very nice and charming.
