This was such a beautiful winery! So much open space and lots of sun. It was a perfect day to enjoy a wine flight outside in the patio. Apparently they host live music here, which would be amazing. I enjoyed the dry white and reds, the strawberry fruit wine, and the peach slushy wine. We enjoyed it so much we were hoping to ship or take a bottle home, but unfortunately we weren't checking a bag. Next time! read more

Wow, this place was a surprise! We were looking for a place to break up a long drive from out of town when I found Tonne Winery not too far off the main road. I was expecting typical (fairly bad) Indiana wine, but I was pleasantly surprised and quite impressed! We even bought a bottle of Cab Sauv to take back home. Kids are welcome, and they have some games in the back room. Service was wonderful & friendly. The charcuterie and sweet & salty boards were very impressive. This is a nice and relaxing place to go for a good solid selection of wines. The facility is a large enough to accommodate you leisurely sipping wine indoors or outside as a couple or with friends. The team is very friendly and professional. They represent their products well. As for the wines...I prefer dry reds mostly. During our sample I found the Cab Sauv to be very good. I really enjoyed the Port wine creation which is very unique for a winery. The Trimanette was also very good. Give this place a try if you are a wine connoisseur, just learning about wineries or just looking for a relaxing time out! read more

What a delightful find just a couple miles north of Muncie! This winery sits straight north of downtown and was easy to find (must be all that flat Indiana land!) Although they don't own their own vineyards, you can tell they focus on the winery end of the business with a wide range of dry and sweet wines. I was greeted by one of the owners who assisted me with my tasting (5 pours for $5). As you look at the wine options, one side is the dry and semi sweet wines, while the other side of the menu lists the sweet table wines. I started with a tasty Reisling, then a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Kabrie (my 1st time), and then a pair of sweet table wines: the Cherry and Cranberry. My favorites were the Reisling and the Cranberry. Two totally different flavors, but both were full flavored and well balanced. The others were good too, but these two were my clear favorites. While sipping and chatting, I also noticed that the space has displays for wine accessories as well as nice assortment of yummy looking candies (DeBrand Fine Chocolates). So, just in case you are buying some wine for a party or as a gift, you could pick some of the candies too! Oh, did I mention this winery was voted as Indiana's Best in 2014? Tonne... It rhymes with "sunny" and is oh-so much funny! Every mid-sized city needs a place like Tonne. As a young adult, I felt right at home but also noticed plenty of 40-50 somethings enjoying a class or two. I'm more of a sweet wine kinda guy, and I would strongly recommend Royerton Red, Blackberry, and Catawba, all of which are obviously made in house. Don't know what you like?! Tonne Winery is such a great place and was a joy to visit! They had really great wine, and the staff was very friendly. When I first walked in the staff was smiling and greeted me. They gave me some good recommendations on wines to try and sample. The environment was very clean and warming. Went with my 3 friends on a girls day and had an AMAZING time. Tom was the person who serviced us and he was very helpful and sociable. We got a 6$ wine tasting as well as split a cheese and crackers for 10$ we did outside searing which was free of bees (allergic) and very clean. Only downfall is they do not have a winse subscription which if they did i would opt in. The wine cost ranges from 11.99-29.99$ a bottle. Honestly the 11.99$ bottle was actually the best in my opinion. Compared to other wineries in indiana this one gave the lost bang for the buck. We actually left a but buzzed which never happens. I personally feel like we got the best deal because we never get buzzed after a tasting. Afterwards we visited the plant shop next door. Beautiful read more

Tonne Winery is a small drive away from Mcgalliard and can be easily missed if you don't know what you're looking for but establishment is cute and the outdoor patio brings out the locals. Highly recommend the peach wine slushee if you aren't watching your sugars and there were two food trucks if you get hungry. read more

This is a terrific winery. It has so much going for it. There is spacious parking, clean rest rooms, a variety of wine related gifts and of course their delicious wine. Wine tasting of 5 wines is available for $5. They have regular wine and live music events with a local food truck serving hot food. Tonne also sells tasty cheese (dill havarti) and crackers. I recently attended a food and wine event here with friends and enjoyed their peach slushy with a pulled pork sandwich from Big Poppa's Pork Pit. I can't wait to go back again. read more

Friendly staff with a great variety of dry to sweet wines. A few of the sweet ones they were out of but within two weeks they said they would be back. Average prices. There was a great variety of novelties. Worth the stop. They even had crackers for in between the samples. Worth the stop off the beaten path. Clean and welcoming inside. Saturday afternoon with the wife and stopped for a tasting. Kristen helped us at the tasting bar. Super nice lady who was informative. Tonne gives you five feee tastings and we enjoyed 5 sweet wines. The Royerton Red, Blackberry, and Cranberry were very good! They have a nice decor inside with a big back room to accommodate busy days or large parties. They had football on the large TV - wine for the wife and sports for me! We would recommend and will visit again. read more

Such a great little winery! Friends and I went Saturday afternoon for the first time and loved it. The staff was very attentive and helpful in choosing what wines to sample and buy. Each person gets 5 free samples, which was definitely enough to decide which bottle to get after the tasting. The price of each glass was around 4-6 dollars, but the glass was filled to the brim when poured so it was worth every penny. The venue was small so not everyone was able to get a table, but if you're there when it's not busy you shouldn't have a problem getting a seat. read more

Muncie finally has a great winery in town! Traditionally, I know Indiana is in love with sweet wines, and they have plenty to choose from. I myself am a red wine girl, so I was pleased to see that they had multiple options for me as well! They offer complimentary tastings of 5 wines (say what?!) and of course you can purchase by the bottle or the glass. The indoor area is cozy with plenty of tables and chairs. I was surprised to see that they have a bigger indoor room with even more tables that could easily accommodate a party, shower, etc. Since it was nice out, we ventured out to the patio with our wine and cheese. Beautiful quiet space in the afternoon, although I've heard that they have live music on the patio sometimes, and I'd love to make it back for that. All in all a great choice for wine lovers, and they've got some really cute gifts for anyone who has a wine lover in their life! read more

This is a small, but quaint winery just north of Muncie, IN. We stopped in for a free wine tasting and enjoyed all of the samples. The owners don't grow their own grapes, but like most small family owned wineries, they import the grape juice and ferment the wine on premises. I peeked in the back and saw about a dozen fermenters working away... We spent the afternoon sitting outside sipping the wine we liked the best with a cheese tray. I had an excellent experience here - I was visiting family and we came here, looking for something fun to do on a Saturday. We participated in the wine tasting, the wine pourer was knowledgeable and friendly, and he even let us taste a few extra wines. We ended up purchasing 6 bottles - the cranberry wine was probably my favorite. There was a seating area where several people were drinking wine and watching the game. (I think they allow you to bring your own snacks to enjoy.) There was also a shopping area with wine-related gifts. We stayed for the tasting, then bought our wine and enjoyed another bother that evening at home. I would definitely recommend a stop to this place! read more
