The check in process took quite awhile as they had quite a few clients all arriving at the same time. When I got back to the office I met with a dentist who launched into a pretty hard one sales pitch for implants. I already had a dentist and a treatment plan lined up. It was unexpected and way to hardcore fore 7 in the morning. When we finally got to the extraction they didn't put me all the way like another dentist had done. It was a surreal experience. I could hear the staff talking and could feel the dentist moving from tooth to tooth. It wasn't painful but it was unexpected. The worst part was we went over a bill before the procedure and I signed off on it. After I got home I got out the quote the did before the procedure and there was a difference of $500 in my favor. After a couple of conversations they issued me a check instead of crediting my credit card. Between the high pressure sales technique for implants, being semi awake for the extractions and the billing error I can't recommend this company.

My experience with this office was very disappointing…read more The original bone graft failed, but when I contacted the office early on to report that the graft material appeared to be dissolving and that significant amounts of grit were coming out, I was repeatedly told that this was normal and that nothing was wrong. It later became clear that the graft had not been successful. In addition, the need for a sinus lift was missed during the initial treatment planning. After my dentist spoke with the office, I was told they would review the CT scan my dentist provided and that I would not need to pay for another CT scan. However, when I later called to schedule a consultation, I was told multiple times that Dr. Wewel required a new consultation and another CT scan, despite the previous assurances. This comes at a cost of over $500. ($400 of which I already paid the dentist and Dr Wewel looked at that CT and said he could use it.) Communication was also frustrating. I left messages on multiple occasions and did not receive a return call. When I finally spoke with a treatment coordinator, I was again told that I would need to start the process over. I was also uncomfortable with the repeated pressure to purchase anesthesia for a relatively simple tooth extraction. Even after declining it several times, it continued to be included in the treatment plan, with the explanation that it could simply be refunded later if unused. I understand that complications can occur in dental treatment. What concerns me is the lack of accountability, inconsistent communication, and the feeling that additional charges were prioritized over addressing the issues with my original treatment. I expected more transparency and patient-centered care throughout the process.

Fought with insurance and eventually got them to pay all of their share and even most of mine. I had a refund due of $121.50. Not only did the practice not notify me for 2 months, they tried to tell me I owed them an additional $121.50. Finally got them and insurance on the line and got them to refund to my original credit card used. Next day Omaha Oral Surgery calls me and says they didn't process the refund and "the check's in the mail and maybe you'll get it in about 15 days". Horrible way to do business. Cash flow issues? He is absolutely amazing!!!!!  His knowledge, current technology and most of all his compassion for his patients is something that I can't even find words to describe.  I have had a lot of dental work done so I know the good from the bad I have 100% trust in Dr Shnayder and his amazing staff.   The office is absolutely gorgeous!!! The location is easy to find and easy to access. The front desk gals are so down to earth and make you feel at ease the minute you walk in the door. I can not say enough about Amy the surgical assistant.  She takes you back to the procedure room and makes you completely forget that you are there for surgery. The most recent addition that I have dealt with is Dr Nord.  I had a procedure last week and had a few questions over the weekend.  She immediately answered my call, answered my questions and put my mind at ease. Appointment easy to make and staff was helpful. Meeting with Dr Elias for first consult (thinking that a bottom wisdom tooth also could be taken out), he was very calm and explanatory. Back a few days later for surg and, again, staff was very friendly and helpful. Didn't even feel when Nurse Tiffany (I think) put the IV in. It was time and Dr Elias came in and said this initial sedative was just gonna be like having two beers. Well, he don't know ME, now, does he? HA Laid there for a little bit with clock in front of me but didn't even notice it. In what seemed like 5 minutes, he said, "That's it. We're done". I couldn't believe it. Out the door in less than an hour. Kewl. BUT, in addition, about 5:30 last night, our home phone rings. I answer and it's Dr Elias. Asking how I'm doing. WHAT? Who does that? What Dr does that? I was sent home with a mere six low-dose pain pills. By this morning, the pain had become unbearable. I called to request just a day or two more of medication to get through the worst of the recovery, and I was told someone would speak with the doctor and call me back. When I did hear back, I was informed that the doctor had declined to prescribe any additional medication and advised me to alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen every 4 hours. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am in agonizing pain, reduced to tears, and feel completely abandoned in my recovery. I understand the concerns around narcotics, but this was major oral surgery involving multiple infected teeth. To be left without adequate pain control is both cruel and negligent. I feel like I've been taken advantage of. You received nearly $5,000 for this procedure, and what I'm left with is trauma, unmanaged pain, and no meaningful support. This is not care--it's profit-driven indifference. Please do better. No patient should have to go through this.

It took about a month before I got a letter from my insurance company telling me what they would pay. I called the dental office and made a 20 percent down payment before setting up the appointment. On the day of the procedure, I showed up on time after preparing by following the printed instructions I had been given earlier. Someone called me a couple of days before my appointment to make sure I understood. Dental procedures can be scary and produce great anxiety, but this one did not. The staff and Dr.O were so calm and reassuring, my procedure was done before I realized it. Having IV sedation helped that along, of course! Dr. O called me the next day to see how I was and answer questions. So far, so good. If I follow the after care instructions, I'll be able to put this adventure behind me. Recommend!
