This company was recommended by dentist to do a couple extractions. It's a nice office and easy to find location. The check in process took quite awhile as they had quite a few clients all arriving at the same time. When I got back to the office I met with a dentist who launched into a pretty hard one sales pitch for implants. I already had a dentist and a treatment plan lined up. It was unexpected and way to hardcore fore 7 in the morning. When we finally got to the extraction they didn't put me all the way like another dentist had done. It was a surreal experience. I could hear the staff talking and could feel the dentist moving from tooth to tooth. It wasn't painful but it was unexpected. The worst part was we went over a bill before the procedure and I signed off on it. After I got home I got out the quote the did before the procedure and there was a difference of $500 in my favor. After a couple of conversations they issued me a check instead of crediting my credit card. Between the high pressure sales technique for implants, being semi awake for the extractions and the billing error I can't recommend this company. read more

My experience with this office was very disappointing. The original bone graft failed, but when I contacted the office early on to report that the graft material appeared to be dissolving and that significant amounts of grit were coming out, I was repeatedly told that this was normal and that nothing was wrong. It later became clear that the graft had not been successful. In addition, the need for a sinus lift was missed during the initial treatment planning. After my dentist spoke with the office, I was told they would review the CT scan my dentist provided and that I would not need to pay for another CT scan. However, when I later called to schedule a consultation, I was told multiple times that Dr. Wewel required a new consultation and another CT scan, despite the previous assurances. This comes at a cost of over $500. ($400 of which I already paid the dentist and Dr Wewel looked at that CT and said he could use it.) Communication was also frustrating. I left messages on multiple occasions and did not receive a return call. When I finally spoke with a treatment coordinator, I was again told that I would need to start the process over. I was also uncomfortable with the repeated pressure to purchase anesthesia for a relatively simple tooth extraction. Even after declining it several times, it continued to be included in the treatment plan, with the explanation that it could simply be refunded later if unused. I understand that complications can occur in dental treatment. What concerns me is the lack of accountability, inconsistent communication, and the feeling that additional charges were prioritized over addressing the issues with my original treatment. Beware! I used to be a patient and the Dr was great. But then I had my second surgery and went over my paperwork and my insurance. Set up my payment plan and thought I was good to go. Then after everything was set up and surgery was complete and I completed my payment plan I got a notice there was more to pay. I tried several times to reach someone in the office and no one answered. I finally went up in person and the office person was clueless. I asked for a Supervisor and she told me that it was due to additional things not covered by insurance. I asked that was because they checked before I went in. I was told they do not check for insurance coverage before you have surgery unless you request it!I stated that wasn't true that last time they did and she denied that. I offered to settle for half and was denied and she was nasty and shooed me away from the office. When i tried to write a social media review I found they delete negative ones. My son had some teeth pulled here due to overcrowding and a baby tooth being stuck. First of all the oral surgeon did a good job and we didn't have issues with the procedure itself. That was not the problem. The main problems we had were related to scheduling and billing. We wanted to get it done as soon as possible but nothing was available until 3 months out. So we scheduled it, then the DAY BEFORE they called us to say they were overbooked and could we do it 5 weeks later. We basically had to throw a fit for them to keep him on the schedule. Then they said we had 8:30 AM booked but they needed to move us to 2:00 PM because younger kids couldn't fast that long. It was so confusing! We showed a screenshot with our date and 8:30 time we scheduled and they said that the appointment time is not a guarantee?! Three months prior we scheduled this, we took off work, etc. I really wanted to bail but we needed the work done so we stuck with them. Finally they agreed to take him in the morning and moved it to 6AM, but acted like they were doing us a huge favor! Had my consultation yesterday. The dental assistant ran through the information on the procedure like she had done it 100s of times before (which she may have), but seemed uninterested in listening. I kept trying to explain to her that two teeth were involved in the dental referral, one for an implant, the other for a possible extraction. She kept insisting that the referral was only for the implant, though on the referral form I received, both teeth were clearly marked and the second one designated for extraction. Dr. Wees was more helpful in explaining options, but he didn't seem to know about the second tooth either. read more

I paid up front for work to be done. They came back afterwards with $750 more they forgot to charge me. I had lost my job at that time due to Covid but we both agreed to a low monthly payment that I made like clockwork for nearly three years via auto pay through my bank. At some point they decided the amount was not enough and they turned me over to a collection agency without notifying me and continued to cash my checks for another 8 months before I got a letter from said collection agency. I told him this story and never heard back. Not another letter or a phone call until last week I got a summons that the collection agency is suing me. I tried to call the lawyers phone number listed on the summons and surprise it said if you want to speak to the National Account Systems of Omaha(collection agency) call ###-###-####. Bottom line is Midwest O agreed to a payment amount. I paid that amount every month for over 2 years and without any notice, without a simple phone call or letter saying hey do you think you could bump this up now that the quarantine is over and things are getting back to normal? 2nd edit: Tooth is out, good molar wasn't touched, sinuses are fine. Also now that the impacted tooth is out, my headaches went away and my neck no longer hurts. A good surgeon elsewhere did it, and it took him less than 20 minutes. TL;DR; DON'T GO HERE they will think you're lying even with x-rays and other referrals. 1st Edit to add: Forgot to mention, the doctors here were also threatening that if they had to take out my impacted wisdom tooth, I'd have to lose a back molar. Got a second opinion this morning (technically 4th or 5th opinion, and everyone else said surgery in the past) and the Surgeon quickly determined it can be done without me losing my good molar. So these guys not only did ALL OF this rude talking down to me, they also threatened an unnecessary procedure. I forgot to mention I was CRYING the entire time, and they continued to talk to me like I was a liar, not in pain. Adding my tooth x-ray too. Tell me that doesn't look painful. It's literally throbbing right where the impacted tooth is. But according to 2 doctors at this place, it's "totally fine and could NEVER cause me pain." Original review: Was referred here by a dentist and I regret it. The first doctor tried to tell me "you're saying every tooth hurts" when I was not at all saying that. They brought in another doctor who proceeded to grill me asking me why *I* thought I needed to be seen, instead of telling me why he thought I was there. I told him I was referred and had 3-4 other dental professionals tell me they think an enormous impacted tooth is the culprit. He then proceeded to try and talk in black and white terms/all or nothing terms: "A tooth like that NEVER causes pain." "There's NO WAY that tooth could hurt you or cause a headache/neck pain." "If it's sat there for 10 years and didn't bother you, why would it's bother you NOW?" (Answer: teeth/bones/our bodies GROW/MOVE Jesus Christ I can't believe he asked me that and I had to answer. Old ladies will have wisdom teeth pop out of their gums. A guy has a tooth growing in his ear canal. Teeth grow.) When it came to the diagnosis, they were less clear. The doctors kept saying they THINK that my impacted tooth has nothing to do with my pain. They THINK it's TMJ. The bedside manner with the docs was non-existent. I'm getting a second opinion but seriously don't waste your time coming here if you look even a little bit weird (I'm a woman with purple hair) or need something done sooner than later, and with respect. I can't believe how many times both doctors threw a half-hearted diagnosis at me and then got upset when I said I didn't trust them. When I told the doc I know my body he said "If you know your body so well why can't you tell me exactly what's wrong?" Just RUDE. The assistant who took my x-rays was fabulous. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I fell on cement stairs and damaged a lot of teeth. I just received an estimate of the cost and they wanted the full amount pd. upfront. We asked them to run it through Med. and Dental Insurance. Our Medical insurance office called them to ask if they were going to file a claim and they said no. So I am going elsewhere to have my work done. I have heart issues and diabetes, I did let them know that if I were to get an infection or become septic and something would happen my family would hold them responsible. I do have an appointment for somewhere else later in the year. I would not refer this place to anyone they are dishonest and all they care about is where the money is coming from. I had a very serious surgery done that took close to 8 hrs. I have never experienced better care, better surgery, and better surgeon anywhere. I put my life in Dr. Wewel's hands. There is always a high risk of infection and major complications with a complex procedure like I had. Dr. Wewel is a genius as far as I am concerned. He and my dentist, Dr. Vince Petrow worked together, planned this out and delivered on their promises. I would never go to anyone else but these two dentists. They are the BEST! I have absolutely no complaints with the staff, the insurance associates, the front desk... They are very professional but fun, they have been there for me through the entire procedure: before care, surgery, and aftercare which is still going on. My complaint with this practice is not with the procedure that was done but with the billing practices. My daughter had a consultation toward the end of last year to have some work done in conjunction with her orthodontist. At the time we were setting up for the actual procedure I explained to the insurance specialist that we were going to have new benefits in the new year including orthodontia, so I wanted to wait until after the first to schedule the appointment. I have two witnesses to this. The insurance specialist came back to me and said that the codes being used would apply to either my dental or my medical insurance so we should go ahead and schedule the procedure prior to the end of the year so as not to lose those benefits. Silly me I trusted her. We paid our estimated portion on that date. My daughter came in and had a procedure as scheduled, no complications everything went fine. A couple of weeks later I got a call from the billing department saying that I owed an additional $318 because insurance had denied our claim since it was applied to orthodontia. I explained to the billing person what it happened and she said she was going to talk to Dr. Wewel to see what could be done. she called me back a few minutes later and I told her that my problem with it was not that I owed additional funds it's because the portion I would've owed would've been considerably less had the insurance specialist not talked me into having the procedure done before the end of the year. She said she would explain the situation and hopefully get me some sort of billing consideration. I just got back from a work trip and see that I have a 60 day late bill for the full amount of $318 in the mail. If you use this practice be advised The insurance specialist is not. I was referred to Dr. Wewel for a tooth extraction. I had the surgery consult yesterday. It was such a positive experience all around. Everyone I encountered throughout my appointment, from front office staff, Dr. Wewel, his Dental Assistant (Tonya) & financial/billing staff were all so kind, compassionate & professional. I was amazed with how much time Tonya spent thoroughly explaining the problem I was experiencing & the treatment options. She is extremely knowledgeable & has a way of explaining things, so the lay person can fully understand in order to make an informed decision. I hope you're paying her well, Dr. Wewel! To make it easier for him to remove he took a second good molar. At 5 pm before my oral surgery was finished and Dr Glow left I Lost at least 2qt of blood and had to go to the VA Emergency According to the VA surgeon I should of not ever left Midwest OMS I was not finished because of a missing large gash in a blood vessel that no biting gauss would of held and clotted. As a surgeon he should have known this blood vessel had to be pack and over sewn. In Dr Glow return letter he lied and said he pack it and over sewn it. This office tries to cheat you out of money. We had a procedure pre certified through our insurance,then We paid what wasn't covered before the procedure was done. Almost a year later, we get a bill for over $1000, saying this is the portion insurance didn't pay. When I called & questioned them they said "we did a different procedure than we pre certified"! We were never told anything about a different procedure & they didn't check to see if it was covered, they just did it! Dr Kim admitted at that time that it was their error & she would take care of it! That was in 2014! Today I received another bill & Dr Kim denies all of our previous conversations!
