This is a late post. I have experienced nursing homes in the past when my mother was living…read more However I never thought I would need to visit one ever again. Unfortunately this time around it was for my husband. It was a very tough and desperate time of need for my family and I. My husband at a very young age was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and had a difficult time giving up alcohol. He was not in any stable condition whatsoever and, he was no longer listening to me when it came to taking his medications a due times. I desperately was looking for help or resources but, no one was able to help my family and I. Lynwood is walking distance from my house, honestly in that moment I don't even know why I called if every other facility kept telling my they couldn't help my husband. I will never forget the lady that came to our house to help me with my husband. She saw him and said they could help him and did a couple calls. Next thing I know my husband is on his way to the hospital because he was draining liquids at this point. Her name is Heidy, not sure what is her position at the nursing home but she is a big help with a big heart. Unfortunately my husband passed away 2 month later . I will forever be grateful and thankful for the tremendous amount of help that the nursing staff provided to my husband while he was living. Sadly on the day my husband passed I didn't get to answer many calls but, I did get a chance to hear voice mails from the staff giving their condolences. This place truly treats people like family.

Lakewood Gardens is a loving and compassionate Alzheimer's and Dementia Assisted Living Facility…read morethat took amazing care of our mother for 5 years. The staff is professional, very attentive and caring and I highly recommend this loving facility to take care of your loved one when the time comes. The facility is well-managed and very clean. My mom always looked fresh and well cared for during our visits, and her room and bedding were always immaculate. There are many activities to keep the residents engaged, like Bingo, music, and puzzles. They even had an artist come in and give the residents a painting lesson, which I thought was really cool! I was notified immediately whenever they had a health concern about my mom, and prompt action was always taken. My brother and I will be forever grateful for the peace and comfort we felt knowing our mother was well cared for, safe, and loved. Our mother recently passed away peacefully at age 94. Because of the loving care they gave our momma, my brother and I plan to stay in touch with our friends at Lakewood Gardens because we consider them extended family, we are blessed! We want to thank the Assistant Administrator, Jeenne, for doing such a great job managing such a wonderful facility, the amazing nursing staff, Helida, Chris, and Joanna, lovely Rita, and Yvonne in the office, and all the kind and gentle caregivers for your abundant love! May God bless you all for all you do for those in need! With love, Lora and Dale.

I would have to completely agree with the previous poster. The young woman in charge is ignorant…read moreand rude. I told her because of the stressful nature of having to put my fiancé's mother into a care facility, I wanted her to slowly explain the process so it would be a done deal by the time we arrived with her mother. She was rude and insisted it would not be a done deal as SHE is the one who decides. She clearly thought I was trying to undermine her authority when instead I was trying to make the process as smooth as possible for both mother and daughter. I think my favorite part was when she asked me if my soon to be mother in law was ambulatory. I said yes, she needs a walker to transition to and from her wheelchair. I was corrected and was told she would NOT be considered ambulatory by their standards. Ambulatory: verb: relating to or adapted for walking. noun: a place for walking, especially an aisle around the apse or a cloister in a church or monastery. The woman in charge should be fired or receive corrective training and education immediately since she is so ignorant about commom medical terminology and clueless about being understanding towards peoples feelings in a sressful situation such as putting your mother in a home. Disgraceful! When I asked for her information because I wanted to complain about the treatment, she refused and threw me out. The staff seemed friendly but who cares with management like that.
