I'd been feeling underwhelmed with the dress finding process and didn't think I'd have that magic moment. I thought I'd just find one I liked a little more than the rest and say yes but right off the bat Nikki made me feel special by knowing my name, researching my venue, and just generally taking an interest in me as a person. All of this factored into her doing every right thing to help me find my dream dress and I did have that special moment and even surprised myself by getting emotional. Everything about Bella Bleu was a five star experience. I went in on a Friday evening and left with a favorite dress. I went to two other stores and immediately drove back to the store. Liz so kindly let me put it back on !! after store hours !! Nikki, my consultant, made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. This is someone who wants a sheath dress's dream. I went to so many places in the city looking for what I thought was a simple dress, and Bella Bleu had options upon options of what I was looking for. The stylist Kate was extremely helpful and honest. She understood what I was looking for, pulled some wildcards, but ultimately let me decide what/what not to try on. The Made with Love brand is to dieeeeee for. They had a recommendation for a tailor and a lunch spot nearby to celebrate. I wish we had started our search with Bella Bleu Bridal! As a wedding photographer, I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for when it came to my wedding dress. After 3 disappointing appointments at other bridal boutiques, I wasn't sure I was going to find "the" dress. But once I walked in Bella Bleu Bridal and saw all of the gorgeous dresses, I panicked that I wouldn't be able to narrow it down to one. I was torn between two gorgeous Made with Love dresses, and Carly was amazing throughout the whole experience. I cannot rave enough about her! She listened to what I was looking for, selected amazing dresses for me to try on and was so helpful and sweet throughout the whole process. She made the experience so much fun for my mom, cousin and I. And she seriously made my dreams come true ... quickly contacting Made with Love during our appointment to see if they could rush the production on the two dresses I loved as I needed it much quicker than their normal schedule. She continued to email with me during non-business hours to get the ordered placed ASAP. I cannot rave enough about Bella Bleu and Carly!! I would recommend Bella Bleu Bridal to every friend, colleague, and stranger that is looking for a special experience when shopping for a dress. Before coming to Bella Bleu, I had two previous appointments at other stores. I left both feeling as confused about what I wanted as I did when I walked in the door and very disillusioned by the process. My neighbor recommended Bella Bleu, saying she had never been in but had pressed her nose up to the glass every time she passed it. As soon as I walked into Bella Bleu, I loved the vibe and style of the dresses. My whole family decided to pick out dresses for me to try on, which resulted in a ridiculous number of dresses chosen, but they were very nice about it and just politely warned us that we needed to stop picking out dresses and start trying them on. I knew after the first three I tried that this store was going to totally trump the other two I had been to. The owner of the shop was helping me get into the dresses and was so kind and incredibly knowledgable about their inventory and what things could be customized on each dress. Towards the end of the appointment, I had tried on many dresses and had about four or five favorites that I had to narrow between. The owner said she had two more that she thought I should try on. The first one she chose ended up being my dress. So yes, to recap: My entire family combed through the inventory and chose dresses for me, I tried on at least a dozen, and the owner of the shop ended up finding my dress. She saw what I was gravitating towards and made a choice that, obviously, nailed it. I never thought I would purchase a dress on the spot because I tend to take my time with big decisions and really think things through, but I was so sure. They put a veil on me, everyone cried, and we popped open champagne. They had a cute sign that said "I said yes to the dress" that they let us take pictures with. They gave me a cute goodie bag as a celebratory gift. I even put my dress back on to try on veils with it. They took such time to make it a special event, as I had hoped it would be. My mom, sister, and grandmother felt involved and heard and left feeling like it was the perfect day too. I can't say enough good things. Just go get your dress there! read more

The selection of dresses is based on quality and variety. From the minute we made the appointments we had a lovely experience. I went to Bella Bleu on the recommendation of a friend, and honestly before my appointment I thought I would most likely find my dress at a bigger salon which has more dresses than a boutique. I was completely wrong -- found the dress at Bella Bleu! Their collection is immaculate and curated -- each dress in their store is a quality pick. I loved a lot of the dresses I tried on, but found a clear standout that I can't wait to wear. Andrea and Stephanie were great and in tune with what I wanted. My dress is from the Lea-Ann Belter line, apparently they are the only boutique in the US that carries her line! Andrea even placed a special order with the designer to make the dress with less volume like I wanted. Great selection of accessories too. I don't know how I really feel about my experience at this bridal boutique. As soon as I walked in, I was pretty underwhelmed by the welcoming I received. They seemed unaware of my appointment and also seemed uninterested to help me. They weren't rude at all but I just felt like I didn't matter. I admit, I looked pretty bummy with no makeup and my hair just tied loosely but I was clearly there for a reason so I don't think appearances should affect customer service. Once I explained what I was there for (veils and accessories), they began to help me and they were pretty accommodating once we began but still I didn't 100% feel comfortable or important. Not saying that they should be fawning over me, but part of the bridal experience is feeling like you're becoming a princess. I felt like I was asking for favors instead of giving them business. The kind of veil I wanted was not available, however they let me know it could be customized. My mother and I requested that they let us know how much the customization would cost and they said they would let us know later that day. Soon after, I received an email saying that I would get the cost of the veil on Monday (we went on Saturday). Monday has come and gone and I haven't received any update. I was waiting for a response all day but nothing. I would have called to check in but I already felt "unwanted" so I decided just to move on. ---- I got an email shortly after I posted this review with an update on pricing. What an adorable little bridal boutique! My best friend came here for a specific designer's trunk show out of Utah all the way from D.C. and boy was it worth it. Not only was the dress to die for, the service was outstanding. The two women working were so incredibly helpful with their honest opinions and expertise in the field. The ladies who work at Bella Bleu are second to none. I visited their lovely new space on Saturday Jan 24 for the Sarah Janks trunk show and had a wonderful experience. They were patient and provided thoughtful feedback. They also had extensive knowledge of what can be done from an alteration perspective on dresses, and were able to contact the designers directly for questions, which was super impressive. I'm a normal size 8 so I dont fit super well in all the crazy sample sizes, but they made me feel very comfortable. I can't recommend them highly enough if you're going for a romantic, nontraditional gown style - they have a beautiful selection (do your homework before you go!). First, Bella Bleu refused to tell me via email how much specific gowns cost, because of their agreement with the Made with Love designer. They did however, give me a price range. I went to my appointment, which was good. The stylists were attentive and personable. I found the dress I love- the Stevie gown- however, I simply can not afford to buy it new. When I asked for sizing information after my appointment, they refused to provide it, saying that they are "protecting" me from any horror stories of purchasing pre-owned dresses online. Bottom line, Bella Blue is a great salon if you have a budget well over $2,000 not including tax or alterations, and you plan to buy from them. If you do not buy from them, they are not interested in helping you. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but since I found this place on Yelp, at least I should chime in and give the girls at Bella Bleu Bridal their deserved accolade. This store is fancy but not pretentious. I came in last weekend with my fiance for a wedding dress shopping appointment. Everything I tried on was beautiful! They have a small selection but seriously everything I saw in there was gorgeous. My fiance is a picky shopper and we've definitely been shopping around before stepping into this boutique. I've been to big department store, small boutiques both in the city and suburb. I tried on plenty of dresses in many different styles and I don't remember my fiance loving any of those. Right before this appointment, we almost wanted to cancel because we thought we found another dress at a different store that was nice enough. After trying on many different styles, I thought that really was just as good as it gets with wedding dresses. I'm so glad we didn't cancel! I found my beautiful gown at Bella Bleu and so excited now to wear it on the wedding day next year. My fiance never showed enthusiasm for any dress prior to this appointment and I think he loved everything I tried on! Price range is moderate-high, having a budget above 2k will definitely help with more options here, but I've also seen a couple of dresses under. You get what you're paying for though, so I think everything here is appropriately-priced. Doing business with Michele (and Andrea behind the scene) has also been such a pleasure. They even suggested ways for me to save money (what seller does that?!). Highly recommend for brides that have tried on all the other conventional styles and want to look for something modern and unique. If I could give Andrea at Bella Bleu Bridal 6 stars, I would. After consulting several previous bride, friends, they advised me of finding a place outside the city (Chicago) to see what they would have as the experience would be completely different and were they correct! After checking out several shops downtown, I wasn't able to find "the dress" and was even asked to schedule another appointment as I was out of time when asking for another size at BHLDN. So, trusting on my friends advice, I hopped in the Civic and drove north to Winnetka. The selection that Andrea has in her store in wonderful, ranging from $2,000 and upwards, so there was a great selection to choose from. Initially I thought that I had found "the dress", but after getting ready to order it only learned that the designer could not make the bust any bigger because of the jewels on it. While I was initially devastated, Andrea stepped in and began going through each dress with me to determine what I did and didn't like about each of them, as we were having an art deco wedding at The Drake Hotel. After realizing I was caught between two dresses, from the same designer, she went ahead and called the designer in Canada to see if they could make a custom design for me. Seriously, now that's customer service! When I went to go pick up the dress, we were also able to find all the accessories (purse, earrings, necklace) that I would wear for the wedding. I can't recommend this boutique enough. Nice bonuses about the boutique are that there are trunk shows frequently, new designers from around the globe, and an array of accessories to choose from. Bella Bleu is the most FANTASTIC bridal boutique in the Chicagoland area. Finding them literally changed my search, and I am now the owner of a bridal gown that I LOVE, and felt wasn't out there. I worked with Stephanie who, out of the 13 shops I visited, was the most caring consultant. The way she works with you, you know she has your best interests in mind. Above all that, she's so incredible fun, sweet and she really delivers a no-pressure, guided, bridal experience. The last thing that I REALLY stood out to me was the shops variety. I went to all the shops in the city, and Bella Bleu far & away had the most diverse collection of styles, materials, designers, etc. This was HUGE for me, because I wanted to really see what was out there. I've driven by Bella Bleu many times and always loved looking in the window, so when I got engaged I thought I would start my process there. The boutique is beautiful and cozy; exactly what you would hope for in a bridal experience. Kate was really patient and let me and my cousin check out all the beautiful dresses they carried in the store, which was really helpful because I definitely picked some I never thought I would see myself in. Being able to walk through the store with Kate and pick what I wanted to try on was so much better and personal than just telling a style I thought I may like; I never felt like there was more I was missing. I was able to try on about 15-20 dresses; which I've heard is much more than the average and fell in love with a lot, but narrowed it down to 3 very different styles. After that first appointment I cancelled the other appointments I had because I felt confident in the selection at Belle Bleu and really liked working with Kate. I promised I would never only look at one store, but the process and selection at Belle Bleu made it easy to only need one store. Hidden gem!! Five solid stars. I found my dress and veil at Bella Bleu. I went to 3 other bridal boutiques and they didn't come close to the boutique feel and look, the staff and all around experience. I had Stephanie helping me and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She was so laid back, genuine and sweet. I found finding my dress more stressful than I thought, but at Bella Bleu with Stephanie and Andrea (owner) it was easy. Not to mention they don't carry just any designer they have unique and gorgeous dresses. My Daarlana gown is exactly what I wanted, but didn't know it existed. It doesn't hurt that you get a champagne toast and and a cute sign to take a pic with when you find it. Bella Bleu is a couple blocks from my parents house, and seemed like an easy place to kick off bridal dress shopping. I went to my appointment not anticipating finding anything, since the store seems relatively small and it was my first stop. They had a ton of gorgeous dresses (I loved every single one I tried on), and Stephanie, Andrea, and Stephanie were beyond kind and helpful--not at all pushy, and seemed to genuinely pick up on what I liked and didn't like. It was such a happy, pleasant experience and I loved a dress so much that I ended up canceling other appointments I had set up and buying it that day! Writing this review here, as the possibility to review it on google has been removed after I posted a negative review. I wondered why there were no other google reviews, but I guess now I know--everything negative gets deleted! Appreciate that other people may have had positive experience with this business, but feel responsible to share a not-so-positive one, so that others don't make my mistake. I do not recommend ordering anything online from this store. I live abroad, and found a dress that I really loved in this store. I had my mom call to confirm the condition of the dress--it was a 'sample' dress, and therefore discounted, so I wanted to make sure that it wasn't damaged. The owner assured my mom that the dress was in perfect condition with the exception of some minor details, that it had only been on display for 3 months, and that she personally inspected it. I finally got the dress last week (it took a long time to get it, but I figured I have some time since my wedding isn't until September), and I was so disappointed. The dress is was far from what was promised. Much of the detail is coming loose or had fallen off, there is a rip in the train and on the shoulder strap (difficult to notice at first glace, but definitely there). The lining is dirty, stretched out and frayed on the straps. I took it to my professional dry cleaner, and he agreed that the dress looks like it had been previously used and resold as a 'sample'. When my mom called the store to voice these concerns, she was told that it's normal for the petals (it's a Theia Emma gown) to fall off (ok, but in what quantities?) and moreover that we are lying, and that we are responsible for the rips/damage to the dress! The fact that it took a while for me to get the dress and inspect it, does not excuse the condition in which it arrived. I know I took a big risk depending on the store's professionalism, and I was sorely disappointed. ADDITION: I think the below response from the owner is a fair reflection of how long-distance customers are treated. Suggesting that I wore the dress or had it altered (or any of the other multiple options that she suggests) and am now lying about it, is not only petty and unprofessional, but quite easy to disprove, given that I have a number of contracts signed with various vendors and deposits paid for a wedding in September, which we would have happily provided as evidence and the fact that the dress hasn't been altered at all to this day! There is no dispute that it took a long time for me to receive and inspect the dress--I was relying on the word of this company. The unacceptable state in which the dress arrived wouldn't have changed even if I had a chance to receive and inspect it earlier, and I know I took a risk. Just want to make sure that the info is out there for international and out-of-state brides to consider before getting involved with a company that worries more about the number of negative reviews they get, than providing actual customer care. The owner's suggestion that we are making up lies shows the level of maturity and treatment that you can expect if you aren't satisfied and dare voice this publicly. read more

I am absolutely over the moon with this little boutique. I came here specifically looking for a designer I liked, and I'm so glad I did! It's the exact atmosphere I was looking for- they require appointments (fairly easy to get one a few weeks in advance), then they only have one customer at a time. It was perfect, I had a budget that they strictly stuck with, my stylist didn't show me anything even $1 over what I told her. I had my favorite from online I tried first, LOVED it, but wanted to try some others. My stylist made the decision so much easier by helping me eliminate, as soon as I said no or maybe, she took it out of my sight and but it back in the racks. I ended up trying on the first one again, and that was it! My stylist celebrated with us, brought us each champagne and took her time explaining the process, taking measurements, and helping explain what alterations might be needed. She went above and beyond anything I would have expected from a dress shop. That was back in November, and today I went to pick up my dress that had just been shipped to them. I tried it on, and she showed me some accessories but was not pushy at all that I buy them from her. I can't say enough good things, I would recommend this place to anyone, anywhere- absolutely worth the 40 mile distance for me. Just purchased my wedding gown from Bella bleu today and I could not be happier! I had been to about 3 bridal boutiques before Bella blue as well as one after and had the best experience of all at Bella. After feeling stressed, hopeless, and like no one understood what I was looking for, I was hesitant to even try another boutique however, I'm so glad that I did because my appointment at Bella bleu was a breath of fresh air. Stephanie was friendly, patient, extremely helpful, and not at all pushy (which is a huge deal for me). No matter how many times I tried on a gown she never seemed to grow impatient or annoyed. Her and Andrea were both very attentive and accommodating, even when I had to move appointment times more than once. They refer out for tailoring, which made me a bit nervous, but after speaking about it with Stephanie I have no doubts that they would recommend only the best. If you're looking for a bridal boutique with beautiful dresses and stellar customer service then this is definitely the place. I should start this of by saying I did not buy my gown at bella blue, but their service and products were so good I felt the need to review anyway. I came in with my mom, sister, and bridesmaid for their theia trunk show. For such a small store they had a great selection of unique gowns. I hadn't seen anything like these gowns at other stores, which is what I was looking for. I was suprised to find they also carried Claire Pettibone romantique gowns which I wanted to try but couldn't find in the city. The small store meant a more intimate setting and personalized service, I was the only bride in the store! I found a beautiful liquid satin gown with shoulder beading that I even got measured for, but didn't want to commit yet. It was a gorgeous gown that I would have been very happy with, but it ended up getting trumped by a gown at another store. If only I could afford both! I would definitely recommend them to any bride. read more
