I went with my MOH to Bella Bridesmaids this weekend to try on a few different bridesmaid dresses. When making the appointment I shared my color, designer, and budget preferences and was excited for a fun morning of trying on dresses. We arrived a few minutes before our appointment and had to wait in the hall (the door was locked and although there were people in the store they didn't invite us in). When eventually we were allowed in, a kind woman greeted and told us she would be helping us with our bridesmaid dress appointment. She asked for information about color and designer which I thought was a bit strange since I had already submitted all of that information when making the appointment. She also didn't ask any questions about the style of the wedding or my dress, which would have been helpful information for her to have. Additionally, she didn't ask about body types and sizing for my bridesmaids. It was also disappointing that none of our requested designers or colors had been pulled in advance. Nonetheless we were excited to get started and select dresses! The kind woman helping us pulled several dresses according to the description I gave her and my MOH began trying them on. There was no mirror in the fitting room which was a bit annoying for my friend. While the dresses were nice they weren't quite what we were looking for, however we did feel we were unable to get a clear picture on some of the dresses because the sizing on the samples was so bizarre (some dresses were a size 2 or 4 others were a 12). While my MOH was trying on the dresses our stylist browsed the racks searching for more options, which we really appreciated. However, she didn't seem to be particularly experienced or have a good sense of what we were looking for or of what was available in the store. For example, when my MOH asked if a dress she had on was padded the stylist said no and then another stylist chimed in from the back to say that actually it was. She also had us try on a dress we were interested in in a floral pattern although it was available to try on in our preferred light blue. At the price point of the dresses we were hoping for more guidance from our stylist. We completely understand that not every stylist is very experienced but we were surprised that no one else jumped in to support us. Overall we were disappointed with our experience at Bella Bridesmaids and wouldn't recommend to our friends. read more

I was a little nervous to get my girls' dresses at this Bella after all the negative reviews here, but with bridesmaids in 3 different cities, it was the most convenient place. It ended up being the perfect place for me! I changed my mind on styles multiple times throughout the process, so went back for appointments three times to look at different styles. The consultants were always patient and helpful, and one time we ran about 10 minutes over and were not rushed. Brit was very helpful in determining the best way for my bridesmaid in Europe to get her dress, and everyone was always friendly and laid back. Dresses are perfect and came in over a month earlier than anticipated, all beautiful and correctly sized. Taking off one star because their online showroom is a little hard to use and weird to look at, but actual in-store service was great! read more

Bad communication. Half of my girls' dresses were missed when ordering. They didn't tell me this for months.The store offered to pay to have them shipped directly to each girl upon arrival due to their error. Had to follow up several times. Last dresses JUST delivered (they were supposed to be in first week in June (last delivered on July 20). Held onto the last dresses as they "couldn't confirm the delivery addresses," yet never reached out to me. One of the bridesmaids had left several voicemails.Overall unprofessional. Would definitely not recommend. Would have been better off ordering directly from the designer's website. I should have read the reviews on here prior to bringing them our business. read more

This was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in getting a bridesmaids dress through Bella. I received my dress with a large stain and had to follow up multiple times before Bella responded to me. Instead of getting me a new dress as requested, I was forced to send the dress back for an assessment (despite providing pictures of the stain) before they would take any action. In the month that it took for the assessment Bella failed to inform me that getting a new dress in the style and color was not an option with my timeline leaving me with the original stained dress. Although the stain was removed from the dress, I still was provided a stained $300 dress to wear to this wedding. Bella offered me a discount less than 10% because Britt is a "small business owner" and couldn't afford to do more for me and placed all blame on the designer. This clear disregard for customers' needs will lead me to avoid Bella at all costs moving forward. read more

I went to Bella Bridesmaid this past weekend with a big party. My bridal party consists of 8 girls, and 7 were able to make it. It was important to everyone to come so I'm glad that Bella Bridesmaid was able to accommodate a big party like mine. I had originally tried to go to another bridal shop on Newbury because I knew they had the dress I was looking for but the person I talked to on the phone was so rude and totally turned me off. So calling Bella and finding out they had the dress was a relief. And the woman on the phone could not have been nicer! We worked with Holly and she was amazing. We had the store practically to ourselves and were able to look at all the dresses. I loved how when I called I mentioned one specific dress and when I got there they already had it pulled! Luckily that was the dress we were able to go with, everyone was able to try it on and order right then and there. It was such a cute shop, and like I said Holly was great. I'd definitely recommend it to a bride! Plus the location is amazing, right on Newbury, we went shopping and had lunch to round out the day. Great time all around! read more

I visited Bella Bridesmaid in September to look for a wedding dress -- they carry a limited line of Saja wedding dresses, which I wanted to try on. I was overall really happy with the dress shopping experience. I set up an appointment online and had the whole store to myself. Brit was my consultant and she was really helpful, listened to what I liked and didn't like about the dresses I was trying on to suggest new ones, showed me how I could accessorize them, and let me take pictures of the ones I really liked. I didn't feel any pressure to buy. Although ultimately I found a style of dress that I preferred elsewhere, I wished that I could bought my dress from Bella Bridesmaid because it was such a pleasant and positive shopping experience. The only drawback that I can list for brides specifically is that they only carry a limited number of the Saja dresses. To try on the full collection, you have to go to the flagship Saja store in NYC. read more

I had a great experience at Bella Bridesmaids. The girl who runs the shop, Kelly, was very helpful. She was very friendly and we didn't feel rushed at all. She was also honest about how certain styles looked on different body types. I would recommend them to anyone. The only downside was that they are a little pricey - I looked at David's and several other stores but felt that their fabric was very cheap. Bella had a lot of good fabric options and we found the perfect color. They looked great on the girls and the photos turned out wonderfully. I think its worth the extra money for good looking dresses. They also have some simple (beach-style) wedding dresses. Appointments are necessary so make sure you get one early. Bella Bridesmaids was great! The staff was helpful when picking dresses, the ordering system was great, and they gave us a discount since I had 8 bridesmaids! When one of my bridesmaids received her dress, it was too small. We called Bella and since they had recommended the size for her to get, they ordered a new dress at no charge and shipped it directly to her. The dress arrived one month before our wedding so my bridesmaid had plenty of time to get it altered. Overall, would highly recommend Bella! read more

I would recommend you take your business elsewhere. I went in alone to try on some dresses for my friend's wedding and I found that the women who were working couldn't have cared less to make my visit enjoyable or helpful. The woman helping me try on dresses wasn't helpful- I basically had to go through their selection and pick what I wanted, and they barely had samples of the styles I was interested in. The actual store is blah- their bathroom is gross, and you have to pay $20 to TRY ON DRESSES. Pathetic. I wished I had known this going in. I definitely would have chosen to take my business to another deserving boutique. read more

Came here with a couple of my bridesmaids to try on a variety of dresses. The store was crowded and we felt very rushed. We didn't really get to look around either. I had a great experience at this Bella Bridesmaid location. The staff was both friendly and knowledgable about the designers they carry and the fit of each style. We were told by the bride which style and color we were to order and Bella took it from there. They were in constant communication with the bride and made sure the fitting was short, sweet and efficient. The owner, Britt, is absolutely lovely, very professional and knows her stuff. read more

Kayla was amazing! I booked an appointment to look for my bridesmaid dresses ahead of time and went in alone. I arrived for my appointment and there were other groups already in the shop. I sat down with Kayla and discussed what styles I was looking for and what concerns I had about dresses and told her she had some flexibility to connect the dots and surprise me with something I hadn't thought of. Kayla immediately grabbed 5 dresses she thought were in the ballpark and helped me find something I'd like. We went through what felt like 20 dresses which I narrowed down to three before leaving (I couldn't decide and went home to sleep on it!) The only downside to the appointment was that it cost $20 if you don't buy your dress with them. This is the third bridesmaid shop I've been to in Boston and the first one I was required to pay a fee. read more

When I was fitted the woman seemed completely clueless as to what was going on, as well as extremely rude. She was adamant that it was important to order a size up and strongly encouraged what size I should order. I went with her suggestion, as she was supposed to be the expert, and I'm now left with a $275 dress that is WAY too large for me. Needless to say, I would not recommend this boutique to any bride looking to avoid hassle. read more

Great if you are a lone bridesmaid needing to try on the dress your bride picked or you are just going to try on dresses that the bride/you have preapproved. My bride has chosen the designer and color and left it to us to pick the style. I was in email correspondence with the salon which they were very prompt in their response and submitted a list of 5 dresses I wanted pulled and they were waiting for me when I arrived, and then I browsed the racks when I realized I had some more time. The appointments are only 30 minutes so you need to know you are not gonna get the same consultant treatment you get when buying a wedding dress. It doesn't seem long but I was able to try on 12 dresses by basically trying one on, take a pic and a yes/no vote and then onto the next one. Remember you can always discuss the pros/cons after. Coming out after each dress for my friend to see my consultant helped fit me with the clips and offered opinions but wasn't overbearing and was helpful and had a great memory for the dresses I was trying on when it came to picking the final contenders. The $20 charge was annoying but I think its more an incentive to order through the salon than online, they do recommend buy 6 months a head of the wedding too. The only downside to the place was the dressing room needed to be swept and they needed a chair or bench in there, I had to put the clothes I was changing out of on the floor. I would recommend for anyone in the city looking for a quick way to try dresses on, def not for a party looking for the consultant experience. read more

When my sister got engaged a few years ago, I had a traumatic experience with a bridal shop in Chicago. So when I got engaged this past summer, I was really nervous about dress shopping. My friend (and bridesmaid) came to visit in October and we went to Bella Bridesmaid to take a look at some bridesmaid dresses. It was a little hard to find since there's no signage on the building front but once you find your way in, it's a lovely shop! It's bright, clean, and they have a fantastic selection of great dresses. We worked with Brit and I thought she was wonderful! I showed her a photo of the dress style that I was considering and she pulled a bunch of dresses for my friend to try on. She's really honest, so helpful, and best of all incredibly kind! We had a great time chatting and discussing our options. At the end of our appointment, Brit wrote down the names of all the dresses that we had liked along with their prices, style numbers, and designers... something that I've been told is unheard of in the bridal industry! And she let us take photos so that we could think things over and share what we had found with my other bridesmaids. I think it really shows how open and honest they are. Thankfully I was very early in ordering my bridesmaid dresses, otherwise, my girls wouldn't have anything to wear on my wedding day thanks to Bella's. First, it was incredibly difficult to make an appointment. When we finally got in, they didn't really help us at all. We picked out the dresses to try on, got our own fitting room, returned the dresses we didn't like to the racks, etc. They offered no assistance- the consultants were kind of just standing around. We finally decided on a dress, picked out the color, and filled out the ordering form. 2 of my girls went in later that week and ordered their dresses, including full payment. Another week later, I went with 2 more of my girls to try the dress on. While one girl is trying the dress on, the other girl asks to see what color we are ordering the dress in. I show her, and one of the sales girls happens to overhear (she wasn't even helping us, she was just nearby). Her face immediately went ghost-white and I knew something was wrong. She said "ummm, that color was completely discontinued by that designer months ago." I told her "we were just here a week ago and they let me select that color, 2 girls have already ordered and paid for the dress." All she could tell me was "they shouldn't have let you order that." THANKFULLY this girl happened to overhear our conversation because NO ONE else at Bella's caught this mistake and we likely wouldn't have found out that the order couldn't be processed until the manufacturer contacted them months later- at which point it would be cutting it REALLY close to find another dress. How did no one realize that I was ordering a color that was discontinued MONTHS ago?! They obviously had to refund the 2 girls who already ordered, but it didn't change the fact that we had all wasted time and money (no parking, so $40 uber rides to get there and back) going to try on the dress. They admitted it was their error (though each girl blamed someone else), but overall weren't very apologetic. They offered me only 20% off to order a different dress from them. I obviously didn't take them up on this offer because I was nervous something would happen again since they are obviously so careless. read more

I went with a friend so she could try on bridal gowns during a trunk show the store was hosting. We were very pleased with the entirety of the experience - the staff was extremely helpful and nice, especially Cori, and we were not pressured into making a decision on the spot. They were booked back-to-back with appointments yet never made us feel like they were in a hurry. We will definitely be going back to try on more dresses. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. Kelly was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just overall great. It's very private and peaceful, and you can look at the dresses at your own speed (and try them on more than once if you want, of course!) Kelly gave me lots of smart suggestions on different options or styles on all of the dresses, and on putting colors together that would look great but that I hadn't thought of. The only reservation is that like many upscale bridesmaid boutiques, they only carry sample sizes, so if you're much bigger than a size 10, there won't be much to try on. However, that's a problem many places share, so I'm still giving them 5 stars. :) Great place! read more

BB has bridal gowns too! I had an appt to try on bridal gowns with Bella Bridesmaid yesterday, and it was an absolute wonderful experience. Brit is such a pleasant person, and it was a delight to work with her. We had the place to ourselves, which made the appt very intimate and all the better. The bridal collection, though somewhat small, is stunning. Whereas at the previous store I went to it was hard to find one gown I liked, at BB it was hard to pick just one! And the prices for their bridal gowns are fantastic. I'm very happy to have ordered my dress from Bella, and I can't wait for its arrival!! read more

My sister's bridal party drove from out of state to visit Bella Bridesmaids and were terribly disappointed. The staff was very uninterested and unfriendly. They put 5 or 6 dresses in the dressing room and that was the extent of their help. They were unresponsive to our feedback as we tried things on and didn't offer anything else. They knew there were 5 bridesmaids coming and began to count down our appointment time as it neared the end, actually giving us a 5 minute warning as we were preparing to purchase 5 gowns! The space is really small and even though we had an appointment they had several other people come in to try things on as we were there. We will not be purchasing anything from them. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, it was an awful experience. read more

I am getting married June 7th and ordered all my bridesmaids dresses through this store. My maid of honor ordered a small and when the dress came in it was huge on her, she tried on my sister's dress that was a medium and it was smaller than her supposed "small." When my maid of honor contacted the Boston store about THEIR error the woman told her there was nothing she could do. The woman who is the owner was completely rude and unprofessional. My sisters have visited other Bella bridesmaids locations and they were 10x more professional and helpful. Bottom line if you like their dresses order from another store. read more

I had a great experience at this boutique. My bridesmaids were located mostly in Boston but my in-laws to be were in Chicago. I took on the task of having my bridesmaids all wear different dresses that coordinated but weren't too matchy matchy. I first worked with Alison before I brought all my bridesmaids in and she was so helpful and helped me pull together a collection of dresses that matched my vision, but also allowed for my bridesmaids to choose their favorites. We used 5 different designers in 9 different shades of neutral tones (yes, I had 9 bridesmaids!). I then brought in all my bridesmaids and had them find their favorite dress that looked and felt great wearing! The ordering was super easy, my Chicago bridesmaids were able to visit a Bella Bridesmaids near them and order online with the rest of my group. The dresses arrived right on schedule and we all received emails letting us all know and they even shipped to the girls in Chicago. One of my bridesmaids was pregnant but didn't know when she ordered her dress. Bella Bridesmaids was able to order some extra fabric at the very last minute and had a tailor they recommended make sure her dress fit once my wedding arrived. read more

Excellent customer service from Brit at the Boston Bella! They were very knowledgeable and had very good insider knowledge of designer options, color coordination, current bridal trends, shipping times, etc and set me up with a very user friendly online ordering system for my bridesmaids. They essentially made it so that I (the bride) had nothing else I needed to do WRT the dresses other then direct the bridesmaids to my custom online forum. Awesome! And finally, when I called to switch my Bella store to a different city where the majority of my bridesmaids lived, they accommodated my request gracefully with no questions asked. I later found out that the people who helped me in Boston essentially would not see any financial return on all the time they spent with me, but they themselves made no mention of that and helped me to transfer my account. I really need to give this place a 5 star review for customer service. I didn't actually buy anything from this location, but Brit (the owner) seriously went above and beyond in the customer service area. I called her store desperate to purchase a bridesmaid sample dress she had in stock. I'm in a wedding in 2 weeks, and the dress I purchased was ruined by the alterations place. Brit let me know that she really couldn't sell me the sample, as it's a very popular bridesmaids dress and it would take 12 weeks to replace it for her if she sold it to me. However, she said she'd send an email out to other stores around the country to see if anyone had it in stock. Low and behold, they did! She emailed me this morning with 3 locations I could call to order the dress. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO RELIEVED IN MY LIFE. So although I didn't actually walk in the store, or buy anything, or meet the girls in person, I must say the customer service they gave to me was amazing. I couldn't be more thankful. I'll go here in the future (if and when I ever get married!) to buy my dress based solely on this experience. Thanks Brit! read more

I recently got married in Boston. One of the things I was most nervous about was finding a dress, and going to the bridal shops. The first (and last) place I went was Bella Bridesmaid on Newbury. Although they mostly have bridesmaid dresses, they also have some wedding dresses and I was specifically interested at trying the Simple Silhouettes dresses. The shop is small and so there is only one appointment at a time which actually made the whole experience a lot less stressful. It was calm and you could really explain what you were looking for in a dress. I tried on about four dresses and ended up buying one of them. Kelly was absolutely amazing to work with. She wasn't pushy, wanted me to be happy with what I was buying, and really knew a lot about the dresses, colors, fabrics, etc. She helped me through the entire fitting and ordering process. I even ended up going back to her to help me find the shoes I was looking for. I really can't say enough about how happy I was with the entire experience and about how well the dress turned out! read more

My experience with Bella Bridesmaids has been anything but stellar...The initial appointment with Brit went well then it was all down hill from there. I placed the order for my bridesmaid's dresses in March and they came in as promised in the beginning of June...IN THE WRONG COLOR!!!! Brit's apology was less than satisfactory and her communication skills leave something to be desired as well as the rest of her sales staff. The new dresses in the correct color have yet to come in and my wedding is 25 days away and I have not received any kind of communication as to when then will be in. And as an already nervous bride, which I am sure they have dealt with in the past, there job is to ease the mind of the bride, not make her more frantic! I have called several times to try and get some kind of answers and my calls go unanswered and when I am fortunate enough to speak to a live body I get the brush off and no answers! It was a HUGE MISTAKE to purchase my bridesmaids dresses from here and wish I had gone somewhere else. I realize Brit is starting up a new franchise in a tough industry on a very competitive street in Boston, but if this is how she is going to conduct her business she is in for a rude awakening and will not last very long. read more

The worst experience I have had at any bridal boutique. Ever. For one of my best friends weddings coming up soon we ventured into Boston. The woman who was helping us was rude, stuck up, and basically useless. She acted as if we were an inconvenience to her and a waste of her time. All of us in the bridal party were ready to pick out the dress and pay in full that day. She refused to give us any suggestions and basically laughed at us when we didn't know the type of material, style or length we wanted right away. She told us the bridal party would need to wear SPANKS to wear the dresses we were picking out.... the bridal party sizes were no larger than a 6. I would never recommend this place to any bride or bridesmaid. We made our dress purchase at Christina's in Andover were we spent a total of over 1500.00. Im very happy that very miserable sales woman at Bellas does not get any of that commission. Go to Christina's there wonderful , friendly and more than helpful. read more
