this was the most special experience of my life! everyone was so friendly, and extremely helpful. my bridal consultant Morgan, was spectacular, i couldn't have asked for a better person to be there for me today. i showed her a few pictures of what i was looking for, and she nailed it on the first dress she brought out. i felt so special. they have alot of options, but they are very expensive (not that there's anything wrong with that!). this was my very first appointment to find a dress, and i didn't have to look anywhere else. so happy with this place. i would post a photo of my dress, but i don't want anybody i know to see it yet! i also am really happy that they didn't pressure you into buying a veil, gloves, etc. they dress you up in them if you want, but there was no force or pressure into buying them, and i liked that about it. 10/10 experience. read more

My daughter was married in early August. Every aspect of our year long interaction with the L'elite team was exceptional. Our sales consultant, Lauren, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during the selection process which took several visits. The Oscar de la Renta dress which my daughter chose for her wedding day was beyond exquisite. Additionally, my daughter decided to wear my wedding dress from thirty-five years ago to her rehearsal dinner. Lena and Faustina, from the L'elite alterations team, completely reworked the dress into a piece of art. On the wedding day, Faustina traveled to our home for final adjustments and to be on hand to steam the dress, bustle it and help with any dress emergencies. (Thankfully there were no emergencies.) This is a boutique of master craftswomen. They are couture experts and artists. Trust their talent, their expertise and their process. You will not be disappointed. My daughter and I are incredibly grateful for the experience from start to finish. It certainly exceeded our expectations, and we will cherish all the memories made during the entire process. I went to L'elite as my first stop, shopping for my wedding dress. I was blown away with my consultant, Sara's knowledge and expertise. I went in having no idea what I would like, wanting to try on anything and everything and she helped me to narrow down my vision throughout the experience! I found my dress! She took photos for me, got my mom and sisters involved, and kept my budget in mind throughout! I thought I had found the one, a dress I tried on for shape, significantly outside my budget, and she found me something similar, and even better under budget. This is the one I went with!! Dress never should have been ordered incorrectly. If the associate did not order the dress correctly, that is not my fault. No we are sorry, no compensation offered. Received just an oops not enough time to remake the dress. Why did the other dress the associate had me try on for a reference , by same designer in a similar cut, fit me almost like a glove? why was i told no charge for the additional flowers down back and then was charged. Again after i got angry charges were dropped. Yes, i was traveling.... I came a month, not two weeks, before the wedding. I had to fight for everything. Lelite would not take responsibility for anything, until i got angry. Not a good way to do business. No customer service. read more

I was a first-timer, and they did a poor job of explaining the different types of dresses and name-dropped plenty of designers in a jargoney fashion that was difficult to keep up with. The very first dress I attempted to try on (ever) didn't fit, to which the staff member said "you're TOO BIG to fit into that dress." Quite the way to start my wedding dress search, which I'd been so looking forward to. It was also super warm in the showroom & while trying on heavy dresses, and staff kept commenting on how sweaty I was. Lastly, we were being helped by two staff members who randomly kept leaving/switching off without warning & did not offer to help me get into the dresses so my friends ended up helping out (angels). Both staff members didn't seem to get along either which was uncomfortable for us on multiple occasions. Overall a horrible and traumatic experience and I left in tears. read more

My daughter is getting married at the end of August and we found the most beautiful Ines de Santo designer sample wedding gown for a fraction of the price at Lelite Bridal on Newbury Street! We are a discerning group as my mother owned a couture bridal shop in New Canaan Ct for 25 yrs and I owned a beautiful bridal shop in Rhode Island for 12 years which I sold a few years back! After searching at 10 stores in NYC and RI and Boston we stumbled upon this lovely shop with the most amazing Staff and we got a 6000 dress for just 2000! All alone on lace the real luncheon lace and lining in silk organza absolutely stunning on my daughter! It was Christmas Eve and we didn't pay for the appointment and they didn't rush us out we spent 3 hours! They took pictures for us and were so nice we couldn't We have been to two fittings and the seamstress is flawless the best I've ever seen and so nice! My daughter felt like a princess! I had a wonderful experience at L'Elite! I found my dress and it was so much easier and more fun than I expected, thanks largely to my bridal consultant Ali. Ali is talented and intuitive, and understood my style quickly. She also brings her experience in tailoring and design to the table, offering insights on fit, alterations, and styling points to make a dress sing. Though L'Elite's inventory skews very high-end, Ali respected my budget all the way. The dresses I tried on at L'Elite were of much higher quality than those I tried elsewhere at a similar price point. I went to L'elite for my first bridal dress try on, I was not designated a specific consultant at first and had two different people trying to help me, which was fine but got things confusing when trying to explain what I was looking for. The individual assigned to me originally told me the simple dresses that I loved were something that "guests would be wearing to my wedding". It was extremely disappointing, as I stated consistently I wanted something simple. After an hour of trying on dresses, it felt as if they were ready to me and my party leave immediately. I did not get the magical, bridal, warm experience that others told me they had. I personally would not recommend this place as a bridal try on. read more

The selection here was very good. The consultant we had was very attentive. However it's very warm in here. Our tiny bride to be was sweltering in the fitting room. There was a fan which we used. Other than that, it's just wasn't that special feeling we were hoping for. Random consultants kept stomping into our room to ask questions of our consultant (maybe she was the manager). One even took a dress that our bride had selected as one of her finals and we had to wait for its return. Maybe my expectations were misaligned. I figured Newbury St = Platinum service. My daughter, the bride, had an appointment to try on gowns at L' élite Bridal on Newbury Street. We were so excited for this long- awaited and special day. After checking in and being shown to our room, we were advised to look around. While browsing, water started seeping into the showroom, the pipes had burst and then water began flowing into the salon. We all scurried to help the staff save gowns by moving them to a dry area. We spent the first 20 plus minutes of her appointment salvaging their inventory. Finally able to try on gowns, the stylist helping my daughter told her she was too HEAVY for their sample sizes and that she may want to return when she lost some weight. My daughter is an athletic and healthy size 8. I was horrified by this comment, but chose to ignore the stylist's incredible rudeness. After trying on a few gowns, we were then told our time was up and to wind down. Mind you we had lost precious time salvaging their gowns with zero consideration of our efforts and the time it took away from our appointment. Long story short, the stylist was rude, judgmental and downright inappropriate. With barely a thank you for our efforts, we left with a VERY bitter taste on what should have been a special and memorable day. I wish I could give ZERO stars!!! read more

I needed a mother-of the bride dress and had been to this dress shop without an appointment with my daughter 6 months earlier to look at wedding gowns. When we went the first time I noticed what a broad selection of dresses they had that would be suitable for me. I returned earlier this week with an appointment and found a dress that fit without alterations except for having it hemmed. Violette, assisted me for over 2 hours while I tried on dresses of different styles and colors. Her expertise in knowing the colors and styles of dresses that would work well for a woman my age, with my body build was very helpful. I can't recommend this dress shop enough! It is located in a 2nd floor suite in the heart of the upscale shopping area on Newbury Street. If you are serious about buying a gown, be sure to make an appointment! read more
