This was the worst retail experience I've had. Things I wish I knew: they do not have any dresses in stock, so there's really no point to go to the store. Your appointment is to get your measurements, but you can get that done anywhere. I was offered to try on a "similar dress" but it wasn't even the same fabric, style or color. It was a completely different dress 10 sizes too large. They didn't have any of 14 dress options that were selected by the bride. I was not communicated that it will take 3 months for the dress to be delivered. When I ordered the dress in person in the store, I was not communicated that my dress will not get in time. I had to follow up about the status of my delivery to find out that this dress is being shipped 2 weeks before the wedding date. There's no expedited shipping option. When I asked why nobody brought this to my attention (since this is a big problem), the staff was surprised by my frustration. According to Bella Bridesmaids the dress is expected to deliver the week of the wedding, so they have fulfilled the order expectations. This place doesn't offer alterations and by the time my dress arrives I won't have time to alter it at all. They also refuse to provide refund or take any responsibility for failing to provide proper customer service. Now I have to buy a second dress elsewhere, pay for expedited shipping and I'm $300 out for the dress that will get here the week of the wedding. Just overall extremely disappointed with the lack of care and rather transactional service. Just a very poor way of running a business. read more

Not even a "we'll be with you in a moment" Walked in and nobody ever acknowledged us but did everyone else who walked in, we went in and spent at least 30 minutes then tried on a dress. Waited with the dress in hand and still no service. They would look at us and didn't say a single word, if anything a dirty look. Didn't get the name but it was a woman with blonde hair with a black dress and black tights. When I first went here to pick bridesmaids dresses I was so excited and happy with my service. Helping pick the dresses to add to my showcase and the ease of ordering them and keeping track I appreciated alot and it made this portion of the planning easy for me. My only critique here was they keep small sizes and for any women over a size 8, they couldn't accommodate much. I hated that some of my girls felt belittled. Then a couple monthes later I had a bridesmaid who lives out of state get a notification her dress had been delivered but to an address not on her file(not anyone's In our party either). I immediately tried to call the salon and got no answer. Called all day long thursday... then tried the next day Friday, left a voicemail and no answer. Then I tried the following day Saturday, to which they answered and would hang up, not even acknowledging the call to say hello, sorry can we take a message. So furious. I called again and again. FINALLY. After hours of calling and being hung up on I got a response, that they would look into it. Luckily they did find the dress, however No apology for even hanging up on me without even the courtesy of a hello. I was left a worrying mess since they are also closed odd days Sunday Monday and wednesdays. So as you could imagine I wasn't going to wait any longer. Called over 50x times. Literally. Shortly after once the rest of my bridesmaids received their gowns, many of them were sized incorrectly and needed excessive alterations even though they purchased the size recommended by the salon. I would've thought oh maybe it's just the one bridesmaid at first. But when multiple have the same issue, I start to think that the employees didn't size them correctly. Their alterations ladies all had to essentially change the entire look of the dress. I hope the dresses turn out okay for my wedding but for the price they paid for these dresses I feel they should've gotten much better service and quality. First off, the bridesmaids dress I tried on was a 12. I am between a size 0-2. I got to see how a size 12 dress would look on me with a bunch of clips to make it look like it fits. They did not have anything in my size to try on at the place you go to try on dresses to see how they fit. Based on their sizing recommendation, I was told to buy a size 4. The dress can swallow me, a size 0 would've been a far better recommendation. Now, I must get the giant dress altered and the alterations cost $200, which is almost as much as the dress itself. So either they have no idea what they are doing when recommending a size or they purposely recommended a much larger size that would REQUIRE alterations. I am almost certain it was on purpose. Apparently integrity and real customer service (customer scamming is what's going on now) are a thing of the past in the wedding industry. read more

Bella Bridesmaids is very disorganized--they had issues getting dresses to multiple of the girls in the bridal party, including giving out the wrong dress when picking up. They gave me a hard time about ordering a different size than they one they recommended, but I'm glad I went with my gut because I'd have a dress two sizes too big that would need to be completely reconstructed by a tailor in order to fit me if I had listened to them. Even the size I got still needs to be taken in a little bit, so two sizes up would not have been good. Overall, we've had a bad experience here. Luckily, the dresses are still pretty and we managed to come out of the experience relatively unscathed by their mistakes. read more

I have tears writing this review. I am so upset that I purchased my bridesmaids dresses here. We visited in April and my wedding is in November in Naples, Florida. We were disappointed from the start. No one helped my friends pin their dresses. Some of them were swimming in fabric and we could barely tell what the dresses looked like. The saleswoman conveniently came back to assist only when we were ready to purchase. Also conveniently, AFTER the dresses were purchased, she told me the expected delivery date was one month before my wedding. There is NO way my bridesmaids will have time to get their dresses tailored prior to flying out to Naples for the destination wedding. This is a big problem as the saleswoman also advised some of my brides to order more than twice their regular sizes, which is just bad advice. The dresses are tulle and flowy, they will not be tight fitter at all. I emailed the salon with my concerns and asked if there was an option to be refunded, or what the process would be if our dresses don't come in on time. They left me a voicemail saying that their "seemed to be confusion" on my end, because I asked for a status on the dresses, and they told me they don't know the status and won't know anything about the dresses until they get delivered to the store. I am so worried my bridesmaids will not have their dresses on time, and these were not cheap. Go to BHLDN. I do regret not doing this as my bridesmaids went with Jenny Yoo dresses, and another friend of mine took her bridesmaids to BHLDN to purchase Jenny Yoo dresses in June. The dresses have already been delivered to her bridesmaids. I feel so dumb for buying from this store when we were unhappy with our experience in the moment, and now I just have to sit around and literally wait for them to tell me the dresses have arrived. I do not reccomend shopping here for a bridesmaid/MOH gown. Horrible experience with the manager, Michelle. It baffles me that she is a manager with how she spoke to me. I don't like to write reviews like this but the moment she said to me, "you're not a customer of ours" I knew I had to write this. Especially when I had shopped there multiple times and ordered a dress with them. The store owner followed up with me and she was lovely and provided excellent service recovery and I'm sure she'll have to do it several more times if Michelle stays the manager. I came in Wednesday for a fitting. When I got there the store was empty, they asked "do you even have an appointment?" I'm a curvier woman and they chose to send out sizes they knew wouldn't fit me. They didn't offer to size or measure me. Then said we won't even have the dress by the wedding. When the bride called later they said " we didn't know who we were even helping".clearly it was the woman in the fitting room, not my friend asking them to help me. read more

I wish I could give this place a 0 rating. I went to try on a bridesmaid dress and they of course only have the biggest size possible to try on, the lady then told me to put my regular clothes on to measure me. I wear a 2-4 and they sized me an 8, and said bridesmaid dresses here run small. They have no clue what they're doing at this place, when the dress came in the mail it was huge, I can swim in the $400 dress I had to buy. My alterations are going to cost me $150. I emailed the lady and all she did was give me the sizes she measure me at, and wouldn't respond to any other email. I think everyone needs more training and needs to give better customer service. read more

Visited today (with an appointment) and worked with Elle. Our experience FAR exceeded my expectations. The location is spacious, and had nice natural light. The dressing areas were designed for several people to sit in front of the dressing rooms. It felt more private than other places I've visited. Everything was clean and super organized. If you've visited other shops for dresses and been underwhelmed by service, quality or cleanliness, definitely visit Bella Bridesmaids. The dress selection was phenomenal! Tons of color options and great options for same color/different styles. The service was truly the highlight of our visit. Elle was very attentive and gave us the space/time to decide. She was always there to help with questions or clips, but didn't feel rushed in any way. read more

I was in this store this week with a friend who had to get fitted. We were poorly "greeted" by the woman in front who asked if we had an appointment. Let me preface that the store was completely empty. We did not have an appointment, however, we showed her the dresses we wanted to try on. The woman in front asked another woman in the back to come out (I believe her name was Michelle). Michelle told us that she only had three of the styles and we asked to try them on. My friend is a very curvy woman and instead of Michelle offering to measure her, she brought her out a size 8. Michelle did not check in on us, she did not suggest other sizes in similar styles....instead she told us that the dress would definitely not make it in time for a January wedding and that "if it were her, she would not put the order through." I insisted that she measured my friend and write down her measurements. Needless to say, this was the worst service I have experienced this past year. We both work in customer service and were appalled at how my friend was treated. As a full figured woman, I can only imagine how my friend felt being in that store and going through that experience. Ladies at Bellas, please do better. We are in a pandemic and no one can afford to walk business or offer poor service. read more

I find this odd because every other salon in the Chicago area was willing to work with me. In any event I bought a dress in New York with a top designer there. Very turned off by how rude the initial contact was when I walked in. I came in looking for a bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding and will absolutely be going elsewhere for my purchase. First impressions are everything and when I can find an Adrianna Papell dress anywhere why would I spend my money on providers who were annoyed by my presence. This review is strictly about the staff working at Bellas and not about their dress selection. Their selection is really fantastic and the store has so much natural lighting that the colors of the dresses pop. My sister (the bride) and I went here two weeks ago, March 1st. The person checking us in asked my sister the date of her wedding, October 10, 2020. This was over 7 months away. The woman instantly said that we couldn't order any dresses besides Bill Levkoff and Amsale. She informed us that due to the Coronavirus, we could not order dresses from any other designers. We were pretty disheartened because my sister really liked the Jenny Yoo dresses, but we understood. I tried on many Amsale dresses, but my sister didn't like their colors. We kept going back to the Jenny Yoo dresses, but the woman said we couldn't get them, being quite rude! I called the Bella Bridesmaids in Chicago to talk to them, and they said they were never told they couldn't get the dresses. They were told shipping would be 20 weeks, but we could still order dresses for her October wedding. I booked an appointment in Chicago, and I'm so happy we did! We ordered our Jenny Yoo dresses today (March 15th), and my sister is happy. They were wonderful to work with and were able to put my sister at ease. Too bad this location in Oakbrook wasn't as accommodating or friendly! read more

I'm a bridesmaid in two weddings this summer where the brides are letting the bridesmaids pick their own dresses, so I stopped in at Bella Bridesmaids Oakbrook to check out their selection. Immediately the sales associate was rattling off all the ways she couldn't help me. She said dresses are taking at least four months to come in. I said that's enough time for both weddings I'll be in. She said they're doing appointment only so I wouldn't be able to try anything on. No I didn't have an appointment, but three fitting rooms were open at the time. Not a customer friendly experience. Too bad they lost a potential sale of two dresses, so I gladly took my business elsewhere! read more

The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. There are way better shops out there to get bridesmaid dresses.

I chose to use Bella Bridesmaids for my bridesmaids dresses, as I had had success previously with using them for my sister's wedding (we had gone to the Chicago location). However, I did not have the same success when it was my turn to be the bride. The good: my bridesmaids' dresses did arrive by the date specified and in good condition. They looked lovely at my wedding. The not-so-good: 1. I chose to use a business with locations nationwide because I had bridesmaids all over the country. However, Bella Bridesmaids forced us to have all the dresses delivered to the one location where I ordered them, even though they had locations nationwide that would have been convenient for my bridesmaids. So, I had to pay to ship the dresses that I picked up from the store myself. No reason to go with a company with multiple locations if it doesn't yield any benefit. 2. When I went for my appointment at Oakbrook, I was told that my bridesmaids could get measured at a Bella Bridesmaids if they lived close to one. Not one, but two of my bridesmaids went into their local store and were turned away from being measured because they didn't have an appointment. They literally made a special trip to the store just to get a measurement and were turned away from a few minutes-long process. Really unacceptable. 3. One of the biggest frustrations of the whole process was trying to get extra length added on to one of my bridesmaid's dresses. Although the dress my bridesmaid chose had the option of ordering it with extra length, there was no option in the online system to do so. I called the store to request extra length be added on to the dress. I was told by the employee that this dress option was not able to have extra length ordered with it as the dress. My best option was to order extra fabric for it to be sewn onto the bottom of the dress in alterations (!!!!!). I was about to go through with this, considering that is what the employee told me to do, even though this was an absurd idea. However, I decided to do some more research on my own and saw that the dress had the option of ordering it with extra length; however, the online ordering system just didn't bring it up as an option. I had to call the store back to tell them what their options were and get it ordered correctly so that my bridesmaid didn't have a dress with extra fabric sewn on the bottom...... After this happens, although my bridesmaids had all paid for their dresses on time to get them shipped by the date needed, the store decided that they didn't needed to get credit card info again to charge my bridesmaid for the extra length ($20 to add it on), even though she had already entered it to pay for her dress. They were just waiting on her to get her cvv number of her credit card. They then extended out the date of dress delivery based on waiting for her to provide that number to the store (when this ALL should have not been a thing if this was an option in their online system). I had to plead with them on the phone to honor their original delivery date without charging me an expedited fee, resulting in my speaking to the owner. Her response to me was "we did nothing that would justify us covering this fee," so I had to take a not-so-nice tone and recount the experience I had just had. She finally agreed that my experience was not ideal and covered the fee, but also blamed the online system as something they could not change as a franchise. Unfortunately, it's not my responsibility to figure out your online system problems when you decided to be a Bella Bridesmaid store. You should be taking those up with corporate. It's also not my responsibility to train and educate your employees. I just got to bear the brunt of the issues. 4. Just have to point out that their online system is useless. Although I could log in to the site, I had to call the store for them to change anything in my dress closet/account. Not really a point to having an online site if I couldn't actually change things in it. Overall, obviously this experience was less than ideal. This store caters towards brides and should understand that they should be doing everything they can to lessen the stress that brides are going through instead of create more of it. read more

I've worked with Bella Bridesmaids in the past as a bridesmaid, and each time my experience was great. The stylists were super helpful, and the dresses turned out perfect! I now recently worked with Bella Bridesmaids as bride selecting my own bridesmaid dresses. Sarra was my stylist, and she was so great helping me select the perfect dress for my vision. Bella was also so great in helping me to get all the dresses ordered on time and made the process so smooth. We found dresses for my five bridesmaids and I even bought a cute little white dress for myself for the rehearsal dinner! Absolutely DON'T go to Bella Bridesmaids! This was the absolute WORST experience to endure as a bride and a complete nightmare for my myself and bridesmaids!! The owner Melissa of this location in Oakbrook is rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. She displayed such a lack of customer service along with the employee Kaitlyn. NO ONE deserves to be treated with the lack of respect that I, my mother, and my bridesmaids were treated with, and how horrible we were made to feel by Melissa. The Bill Levkoff dresses I ordered in the color Petal Pink arrived with the skirts COMPLETELY SHEER, unlike any of the sample dresses my bridesmaids tried on. The cups in my bridesmaids halter style dress were completely visible through the fabric. Another dresses fit was SO horrendous, I had to purchase my bridesmaid a completely different dress from a different store. The owner Melissa was an hour and a half late from the time she told me that she would be calling me to discuss the issues. She told me no one had ever said the dresses were sheer repeatedly when I tried to explain the situation. Melissa had said that due to my price range, choice of chiffon fabric, and color choice of Petal Pink, this was not something she could be blamed for. This was both unprofessional and offensive to myself and my bridesmaids when I told them, as the dresses all ranged from $150 and above. The lack of accountability for the quality of the dresses that she as an owner sells was VERY evident. The conversation felt like a total waste of time. I was not reassured at all, and instead felt like I was being attacked by stating the problems with the dresses. When bringing my bridesmaids back to the store to show Melissa the issues, she was not helpful and again just insisted repeatedly this has "never happened before". Regarding the visible cups, Melissa blamed my bridesmaid's "larger bust size" for pushing the cups out to make them visible. This was EXTREMELY offensive to my bridesmaid. Melissa kept stating she would not describe the completely sheer skirts as sheer but simply a "light fabric", despite myself, my bridesmaids, and my mother clearly being able to visibly see their underwear perfectly. She kept saying she wanted to help, but the only advice she kept giving was to purchase nude seamless underwear (which the girls were already wearing) or nude slips from somewhere (which I already informed her I purchased from Von Maur during our initial phone conversation). My bridesmaids said that Melissa made them feel bad about their bodies, Melissa was mean, Melissa was not helpful, and they would never want anyone to go there and be treated like that. My bridesmaid is engaged and had said prior to this, she was planning on going to Bella bridesmaid of Oakbrook also for her bridesmaid dresses but definitely not now after this horrible experience with Melissa and the store, and she will tell everyone she knows not to go here. One of my friends I worked with also is getting married ordered dresses from this store in the color Petal Pink and from the designer Bill Levkoff prior to mine arriving in store. Sure enough, when hers arrived in May, the skirts were again completely sheer. When I asked about her experience, she unfortunately described almost the exact horrendous experience I had. Melissa had told my friend this has never happened before and that it was just a "light fabric". Completely ridiculous. My total alteration cost of these horrible bridesmaids dresses along with buying my one bridesmaid a completely new dress since hers was so bad was over $1500. What is also ironic is the seamstress we went to located in Elmhurst informed us that MANY brides and bridesmaids have come from Bella Bridesmaids with the same issues we described! The seamstress even showed me a bridesmaid dress from Bella Bridesmaids in Oakbrook in the same color Petal Pink by Bill Levkoff that had been brought to her, and she was sewing in a pink slip from Joanne Fabrics into it. DO NOT GO TO BELLA BRIDESMAIDS IN OAKBROOK. They should not be allowed to sell dresses of this quality or treat customers this way. I will be reaching out to Better Business Bureau and have already informed all my friends, family, coworkers who are getting married, getting engaged, etc to STAY AWAY from Melissa and Bella Bridesmaid in Oakbrook, just as my bridesmaids have as well! read more

My experience at Bella Bridesmaids was anything but great. As a bride going to her first bridesmaid appointment with the MOH, it was an extremely excited time. To be met by an unprofessional and rude employee named Lauren. Off the bat, she made us feel unwelcome. We finished our appointment disappointed and shocked about the horrible experience we had. Hoping it was just by chance, I returned to the store with another bridesmaid only to have the same employee, Lauren assist with our measurement appointment. The only words she said to us were, "you'll be in the 3rd seating area" and "I'll meet you in the front to get your $25 payment". She was very rude and did not speak to us the entire time she was assisting us. We were in the store for a total of 5 minutes.... Lauren was very unprofessional and rude. I will not have my bridesmaids order their dresses through this store becaus of the horrible experiences we had. What a shame for a store to have such a petty employee who clearly is not helpful and rude to customers. read more
