This is the second time I have purchased a cake from them and they nailed it again ! First time was our wedding cake and now our baby shower cake . The cake was delivered on time and not only are their cakes beautiful but they are actually really good!!!! I will definitely work with them again and again . Cake was so cute I didn't even want to cut it! It was beautiful Thank you so much !
Another excellent review that is long overdue. Donna at Bella Donna Special Events has been making my son's birthday cakes, cookies, cupcakes since he was born 11 years ago! She and her husband, Tom are so wonderful and professional to work with. The food is always delicious and they make the experience so easy. They have grown over the years and are very busy with orders and a big catering business but they are just as kind as they were in the very beginning! I recommend them to everyone in my mommy groups and friends of course. Attaching some pictures from over the years! You'll see how talented they are! Also, love supporting small business owners! My husband and I were so grateful to have Bella Donna cater our long-awaited wedding day! We originally booked them for our original April 2020 wedding date, but had to postpone it to September 2021 due to the pandemic. With our wedding being multicultural and a vessel to bring our two cultures together, we knew that food was going to be one of the best ways to accomplish this. Also, me being Sierra Leonean American and wanting to incorporate a very specific cuisine into our menu, we knew we had to get it right. (After all, we were competing with the cooking of my mom and aunties!). The food was probably one of the most important components for our wedding celebration. Not only was it the most direct way of representing our cultures (Sierra Leonean, Mexican and Basque), but also, we are huge foodies, so the food had to be on point. We needed to find someone who was also proficient in West African cuisine and how to prepare it accurately and well, so we had a very difficult task on our hands. Through a mix of fate, luck, and divine intervention on social media, we had the fortune of working with THE Patrice, the Senegalese head chef of Bella Donna. Being from Senegal, he had foundational knowledge of the Sierra Leonean / West African region and its cuisine, so it was a great fit. After 2.5 tastings over several months and lots of collaboration and curation, our buffet dinner was a hit that won over the aunties and continues to be raved about by our wedding guests! We had a wide range of different types of food, and all it was EXCELLENT and absolutely DELICIOUS! There was no shortage of flavor, and everything was prepared to perfection. Honestly, everything was SO good, but guests particularly loved the akara, chocolate chip cookies, and a traditional Sierra Leonean stew that was served. Here is what some of our guests had to say: "Patrice did an amazing job!" "Best variety and taste! Loved the food!" "The food at the wedding was bomb!" "Can you tell me what the name of that dish from your wedding was that had red sauce?" All throughout the process of planning for our wedding (multiple times over because of the pandemic delays), Donna, Patrice, and team were so amazing to work with! They were super easy to work with, had very charming personalities, and were just really good, genuine people. We appreciated the way they ran their business, which was very honest, collaborative, and trustworthy. They listened to our very specific requests and over-delivered on them. They had really great ideas and made ours better by adding sophistication to the presentations. We were super proud of the food story that the Bella Donna team helped us bring to life for our wedding day, and we cannot wait to work with them again! And whatever you do, get the chocolate chip cookies!!
What a beautiful experience we had with Bella Donna. Upon meeting Tom and Donna for a cake tasting, I knew they were the perfect people to have take care of us and our crucial wedding cake detail. We were sure to let them know that we couldn't be more satisfied with their service. They absolutely nailed the vision for our cake design, and it matched our wedding decor to a T! To top it off (pun intended) the cake tasted as great as it looked. We received tons of compliments of every aspect. Tom was our main contact and was very gracious in handling last minute changes due to COVID-19, and offered great advise concerning outdoor delivery and display. He was clutch throughout. I hired Donna for my daughter's unicorn birthday cake and I couldn't be happier. There was a little mixup with her name being misspelled with the fondant, but was easily fixed. I appreciate Donna and Tom for their prompt response after I reached out to them, they even came back after delivery to make sure all was okay. The cake turned out so beautiful, and the taste was out of this world--my guests loved it!!! We also ordered custom cookies and they turned out great! This was the first time I ordered a custom cake for any event, and Donna and Tom made the whole process a breeze. Her menu is amazing, and I look forward to future events. Thank you!!!

I was informed about Bella Donna's bakery from a friend of mine who was getting a birthday cake made from them. I had already received a quote from another bakery about a special cake I wanted made for my girlfriend & my friend suggested I get a quote from here as well. They quoted me the cake at a lower price and our cakes came out phenomenal. I posted a picture of my "make-up cake" with edible cosmetic pieces on top (which were delicious!) & my friends WU-Tang Clan cake (awesome idea). If I could give Bella Donna Special Events more than 5 stars, I would! Bella Donna Special Events created and designed my dream wedding cake. It was 4 tiers and such a showstopper. I drew up a sketch of what I was looking for and hoped to have them recreate and they did it beyond belief. I couldn't have been happier with the final product. It was absolutely STUNNING. Not only was it beautiful from the outside, it tasted DELICIOUS. I had chosen 3 flavors with different buttercream icings for each layer based on the pairing recommendations from Donna. Tom and Donna were ultimate professionals and I am so grateful to have connected with them. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Bella Donna Special Events to create your dream cake. You will not be disappointed!
We used Bella Donna to cater our wedding cake and dessert bar at our wedding. Donna and Tom did a phenomenal job, and all of our guests loved the desserts! Our cake was also absolutely delicious and looked so perfect in all of the pictures! Plus, their prices were very reasonable and well-within our budget. All I did was submit an inspiration photo of the fondant cookies and they were able to make beautiful cookies like the ones I had in mind. I had such a great experience with them! Donna is the sweetest lady and it was very easy to work with her. I had a strange idea for the cake, and she was able to print my idea into a very high quality edible image on top of the cake. It turned out amazing and vibrantly colorful, exactly in the fun spirit I was going for. And these cakes are big! We decided on fun flavors, Funfetti and an Oreo cookies and creme whipped filling. It tasted just as good as it looked, sweet but not overwhelmingly so (the lighter whipped cream was a great balance to the thicker outer buttercream) - my family loved it! Artful, moist and flavorful cakes that lasted several days. The cakes were frosted but had a nice clean finish like fondant. We ordered with photos of what we liked and Bella Donna did a great job on replicating the look. We ordered strawberries and cream, chocolate and carrot cake flavors and enjoyed them all. read more

Tom and Donna were quick to reply to my quote request and very easy to work with and communicate with. I sent them an image of the kind of cake I was looking for (sea life theme) and they knocked it out of the park! It was not only beautiful and detailed, it was the BEST cake I've ever tasted! When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it was closed (5pm on a Wednesday). Coincidently, the owner Donna, saw us at the locked door and opened up for us. She didn't hesitate at all! Donna was very personable and welcoming. She explained they are open for business Thurs-Sat and that they specialize in custom cakes/events/catering. Donna let my husband and I purchase some freshly baked cupcakes ($2.95 each) and even threw in a free one, so that we could sample her new Pistachio cake. There was about 12 different cupcake flavors to choose from: Bananarama, Lemon, Neopolitan Marble, Red Velvet. The cupcakes were INCREDIBLY MOIST AND DELICIOUS!! Fabulous! This place is 100% on top of it! This is the 2nd time in one year ordering with this business & I am happier than ever. My first request (a year ago) was an elephant shaped cake for a baby shower, but I needed it to be VEGAN! I searched all over the valley & not once did I find one business (even the vegan ones) as helpful, willing & excited to help me. More recently, I threw another baby shower with a Frida Kahlo theme & they knocked it out of the park AGAIN! They designed and crafted a gorgeous colorful cake & cake pops in the shape of Frida Kahlo heads, all in the colors & designs I requested. I simply email them with images of what I have ideas for; together we hand pick what works best & they deliver exactly what my imagination created. The images speak for themselves. Their team of people are talented, efficient & caring. Its like a bake shop run by your own family, but better! Thank you for the absolutely beautiful and delicious cupcakes. My daughter requested cupcakes for her high school graduation and I was happy to order something special. She didn't want the traditional graduation decorations and is really into beautiful flowers. Tom and Donna came up with this stunning display of yummy just from emails and no other inspiration than "she likes flowers." The cupcakes are definitely too gorgeous to eat, but with tropical, coconut, red velvet and peanut butter fudge we just had to eat them. I'm looking forward to the next celebration! read more

I can't say enough about what a great find Bella Dona cakes was, her cakes are beautiful, she went out of her way to get the design I wanted and had beautiful trays and cake stands we rented also. My cousin had recommend Donna to me when I was looking for my engagement party cake and it was so beautiful we ordered the wedding cake a month later. I will never go elsewhere for cake! read more

Bella Donna made my husband's 40th birthday cake. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Customer service and communication is great. They emailed and called me right away to discuss what I needed and go over all the details. The cake was so moist and not overly sweet. We had extra so I stored it in the freezer right away. Let me tell you, the cake is so moist that I was able to take it out of the freezer and cut a slice almost immediately. I left it to defrost for just a few minutes and it was still moist and delicious! It was so beautiful my dad didnt think it was real. He poked it and made a little hole. Lol. Luckily I had gold decors laying around so i did add the two little fans on a stick to the front of the cake. Thank you Bella Donna for an awesome job!!! read more

We hired Bella Donna Special Events to cater our wedding and provide our wedding cake. I spoke to a LOT of caterers and found most to be unprofessional or super salesy. Donna was the opposite - along every step she was easy to work with, easy to get in contact with and made sure that I felt comfortable with every decision. In addition to providing appetizers and dessert, she also handled all of our rentals. Donna not only provided excellent service but was an amazing support system, especially since I planned most of the wedding from Northern California. Everyone raved about the food, decor and especially the cake. I would highly recommend Bella Donna's for any event you need catered. Also...her pastries are amazing and it's worth it to stop by and pick up a cupcake! I will definitely be doing this next time I am in the valley. read more

Amazing as usual !!! It was not listed as one of the flavors of cupcakes on the website but they were willing to work with me with 3 days in advance. My family does not like frosting so we had to request whipped cream. Mango cake cupcake with mango puree with mango whipped cream with mango in the cream ...do u see a pattern?
