Was hoping to find a good bakery, but after we placed a fairly large order, what we were given was totally wrong. Instead of pork pupusas, we found mashed potato with a sprinkle of cheese inside. No pork. The tamales were gross! We ordered pork, but they gave us chicken & potato chunks, old string beans and garbanzo beans, like someone's leftovers, inside a soaking wet cornmeal and they had to be thrown out. Even the pastries had filling that was not fresh. Very disappointing. Will never go there again! read more

La Paz never disappoints. They do amazing cakes, that not only look beautiful but taste amazing. Highly recommend.

If there was an option to give this bakery zero stars, I would do it. We ordered a cake for my bridal event from them and it came out looking worse than a cake you purchase at a market! There were many things wrong so let me break it down for you... 1. They gave us a two-tiered cake in a flat cardboard base without a box or any support for it to be in a car and taken to the event location. 2. We purchased a box of green hued flowers to place on the cake and instead, they chose only the white flowers in it and gave us back a box full of green flowers that we purchased for them to use and they didn't. 3. The frosting is so cheap that the cake was tilting to the side even after being in the car for only 10 mins total (it takes 45 to get to the event location). So you can imagine the state it was in getting there. I wish I could show you but when it got to the location it was almost unsalvageable to place in the fridge that we had to throw it out and go purchase another cake. 4. When I called the store to complain, a lady spoke to me and instead of providing good customer service to a very unhappy customer she kept going back and forth with me telling me that we asked for an all white cake and this is why she only put white flowers. What we said was an all white cake in terms of frosting and to put the very clear green hued flowers on it. 5. In the end, the lady told me that we can bring her the cake back to fix it. I'm sorry honey but we paid you $250 to make quality cake for us and you guys didn't deliver that. Instead of telling us to bring you the cake back, get your a** over there and fix the very clear mistakes you made. That's basic customer service. Bottom line, this bakery is overpriced for market quality ingredients, presentation, and customer service. They sure will not be receiving any more service from us or anyone we know any longer. We made a mistake coming here, I assure you all there are far better bakeries in the valley! Think twice about this one! read more

I needed custom cookies for my son's baptism that was very last minute & stumbled upon La Paz Bakery on yelp... I had called thinking there's no way they would have the time to make 75 cookies in a few days notice. Well I was wrong! They were able to do it for me and I'm so happy with my cookies! This place is as much as you can get home cooked meals. It's salvican (Salvadoran /mexican). For breakfast it's always packed with people getting their pupusas or a bread filled with beans and cheese and eggs. You can put whatever you want into that bread. Their aguas frescas are so good......specially horchata. And on weekends they have sopa de pata (beef feet soup). It's so good. The ladies there are super sweet and friendly and they always so helpful and adorable. read more

We got to taste different cakes and that was fun. We got a 3tier wedding cake and they delivered it to our reception in Malibu. It looked beautiful and tasted great. I would highly recommend them. Awesome and Amazing is what comes to mind with their food and their desserts and cakes are out of this world. Every year on my birthday, I get a cake. Yay. That's a birthday present in its self. I don't like that really over sugary frosting on a white cake that a lot of people get for birthday parties. La Paz cakes are delicious and the frosting is really nice, isn't overly sugary and has this whipped creamy taste. I have been looking for a good mil hojas cake for about 5 years now since moving to The Valley and Los Angeles area. One of my best friends recommended me this place for thier mil hojas cake. I looked on yelp and didn't see any pictures of mil hojas so I called the bakery and they informed me that they sell mil hojas by the slice as well as they have their signature mil hojas cake which is tees leches white cake for the bottom half of the cake topped with a vanilla custard and the top half is the mil hojas cake. For $37 I got the best mil hojas cake I've ever tasted: it was superb !! It is topped with lots of fresh fruit and it's just a delicious well rounded cake overall. I bought it for my step dad's birthday and my only complaint was the elementary school writing I received on the happy birthday card for the cake topper. After shopping around different local bakeries, I decided to order my gender reveal cake from La Paz Bakery. Their prices are affordable and wow, their cake was delicious and beautiful! The party was planned a little last minute because we didn't know when we'd get our gender results back, so I was a little pressed for time to find a bakery that could make a cake for me within a few days. La Paz really accommodated my last minute request and our food allergy restrictions. They did their best to make sure they could accommodate egg yolk and dairy sensitivity, and even texted me to make sure their ingredients were okay! They also called me to confirm how I would like the gender to be revealed in the cake and were very clear on how they were going to execute it. I have never experienced such attentive customer service! They even decorated the cake so well, even though it was a last minute order. Not only were they able to accommodate my last minute request with grace, the cake also came out BEAUTIFULLY! It was enormous and so delicious. The cake was so light and fluffy. We (and our guests) were really impressed! There's ample parking in the shared lot in the plaza, and they accept credit cards. I really can't say enough good things about my experience with La Paz.
