The original Mr. Luna was nice & respectful . However, in the late 90's his son in law was extremely rude to me when I brought my aunt's 1940 heirloom engagement ring for an appraisal & sale. discovered later his son in law low-balled me. It was a one of a kind ring. Interestingly, he never displayed that ring in his vintage ring case. Hmmmmm. He was a very young man. Maybe he eventually matured. I asked what to do with my ring that I just dropped, and they're very honest that it's better for me to leave my ring alone cause even if I get it fixed it might not last since my ring is one piece so filling it might not stick well to the crack. [skip to the end if you want the TL;DR] While on a long recovery from an injury (read: VERY bored), I began thinking about a custom piece I wanted to design. I came up with a concept, researched materials, and eventually sourced and imported some jade and silver to become a bracelet. Once all of it arrived, I took it into Bella Luna, because based on (many, many) repairs I've had done there over the years (because I constantly forget to take my jewelry off before going to the barn to ride my horse), I know they do great quality work and that they are very friendly. I walked in, and literally said, "ok, I have about 75% of a bracelet. Let's see what we can do!" and OMG, the team at Bella Luna absolutely blew me away. From sizing the bracelet appropriately, to finalizing the design, to considering things I had never even thought of (like weight distribution! And what material to string the jade beads on!) the Bella Luna team were incredibly professional. The final product took my breath away when I picked it up, and I think the price for the work done was very very fair. I'm a craft fanatic, whether it's jewelry for me, or saddles and equipment for my horse, and I can confidently say that the work done on my bracelet is clean, neat, and well-done. The eventual end design is actually a pair of bracelets, so once the materials for the second bracelet arrive, I'll be bringing them to Bella Luna to complete the pair. 2 tips if you decide to go the route I did: ask questions so you know what's going on, especially if you're a jewelry design newbie like me! Communication with your jeweler is very important. And, also, be prepared for a little wait time. Good quality jewelry design and construction isn't going to get done in 24 hours, so factor that in if you want the piece for an event. This isn't Amazon, this is a bespoke jeweler. Ok, so, the TL;DR: I came into Bella Luna with a design concept and materials, and the team at the shop finalized the design and built an absolutely gorgeous piece for me. We just replaced our watch batteries and had a few links taken out of one of the watches. The customer service here is fantastic and the pricing is even better. The employees are kind and attentive to your needs. They are clearly knowledgeable about jewelry and gemstones, so you will more than likely find answers to your questions! The watch adjustment was $10 and I believe the batteries were $10-$15 each (depends on your watch, ours are standard). They were able to change the batteries and alter my watch links in less than 20 minutes! They also cleaned my wedding band and engagement ring for free! I normally am charged upwards of $50 for this service when I go to Kay Jewelers. The staff at Bella Luna are attentive and offer fantastic service, so I will only be coming to this jewelers from now on! Bonus points: Bella Luna sells a large collection of Native American jewelry and pottery. It is awesome that a family-owned location offers such a wide variety of indigenous pieces! Over the years, Bella Luna Jewelers has created and repaired several pieces for our family. Most have been working with very old family heirlooms that needed some work or recreated to gift to my daughter. One was a partially completed pearl necklace that my mother- in - law started for my daughter but passed away before it was completed. Bella Luna completed the necklace, taking great care to match the pearls with the existing pearls. We had the engagement ring from my daughter's great grandmother. Bella Luna designed and made a necklace in the style my daughter wanted using the stone from that engagement ring. It is beautiful! Finally Bella Luna recreated a piece that was lost from an old family candelabra, and made an exact replica of a lost valued family ring from photos. As my daughter said, "they nailed it". I visited most of the big fancy jewelry stores looking for a ring that caught my attention and nothing really jumped out at me. It took me about 10 mins in this store discussing the details of how my now fiancé and I had met before Stephanie was already thinking of sketches and trying to personalize the ring to fit our story. So speaking of the sketches...they do amazing custom work. The ring I had made turned out absolutely beautiful. The process from day one all the way through the visits, updates, pictures, and questions went flawless. It seemed as if they were just as excited about the experience as I was. I can't say enough about this little shop. They really took something truly special and close to my heart and made it even more memorable for me. I approached the team at Bella Luna and showed them an assortment of colored stones that I had collected from my grandmother, mother and sister.
