My husband and I scheduled a 90 minute couples massage and had a wonderful experience! We were greeted when we walked in and was asked what areas to concentrate on. There was peaceful music playing in the background while they started giving us our massages. They offered additional services at the beginning. My husband opted to get the hot stone massage. They were both very skilled and was able to work on and release the tight muscles. I've had many massages over the years, but this was definitely one of the best I've had. I went to this business to get a deep tissue massage, the cost is $90.00, I paid in advance... the massage was very good and I was totally relaxed and I felt awesome after the session. When I got dressed and exited the massage room, I was greeted with some water and a mint (I think)... we then went to the front desk and I gave my therapist a $20.00 tip... a little more than 20% tip. Well, to my amazement I was told that I should give her $40.00 for the tip. I was thrown backwards at this demand and she argued with me, which ruined my calm and relaxed experience. I'm in the same business as her, I owned a salon and spa and I would never demand a tip from my clients. I gave her another $4.00 and walked out shaking my head. How can you demand a tip from a client, especially when I already gave her over 20% tip. I wanted to asked for my tip back but she did a good job and I felt she should be rewarded for her skills but to demand a tip is rude, unprofessional and disrespectful.. will I go back... So the review is for service. Today I had my mom go in because she works hard and her body hurts often. This was supposed to be a relaxing time for her. When she's about to leave the masseuse cornered her after she was done with the bathroom and was basically demanding she tip. Now my mom doesn't need to tip. That was for me to do when I stopped by. And from what I heard she cursed out my mom and made her feel hurt. Don't go here!!! Tipping is always OPTIONAL and not necessary. And I was going to go tip. Now I'm not going to. Cornering my mom and harassing her is just disgusting. I don't know who the masseuse was:/ if I did I'd put there name in here. I'm all for tipping for GOOD SERVICE, not rude or mean service. read more
