One of the BEST experience's Ive had. My husband and I, found this winery before hand. We planned to visit during our trip to Niagara Falls. It DID NOT disappoint. The prices are more than reasonable, and customer service is top tier. There is plenty of seating inside and a few outside . There is a good selection of wines, from dry, semi sweet and sweet. I even tried and purchased a chocolate flavor wine (it's absolutely something to talk about). I ended up buying 6 bottles and received 10% off which I appreciated. My husband and I came as part of the Holiday Happening event. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the service was quick even when they were busy. The location is great, and they have a large indoor area, and a patio when the weather is nice. I don't love how they serve the wine, it's in tiny shot glasses instead of a regular wine glass. The tasting was good, I enjoyed the 3 wines that I tried. It just didn't feel like you got as much wine here as elsewhere. read more

Stopped here with a few friends during a fun afternoon out visiting local wineries. This was my absolute favorite stop. It started with getting out of the car and walking around the beautiful grounds. We talked to a friendly employee about the rose bushes at the end of the rows in the vineyard. Not only do they look good but it's their 1st line of defense with knowing about bad bugs that could attack the vines. How did I not know about this before? The enjoyable visit continued inside with more friendly knowledgeable employees and some delicious wine tastings. I'm normally a dry red wine drinker but actually picked up a rose there. I was looking for something special to give in celebration of my neighbors 50th wedding anniversary; something worthy of such a momentous occasion. My daughter had attended an event at the Genesee County Museum and bought this amazing wine from one of the vendors: Victorianbourg Wine Estate. A dessert wine that hummed of strawberries and chocolate, the perfect gift! I like it so much I bought a case as Christmas is just around the corner. I can't speak for the rest of their wines but if they're anything like the one I bought (Chocolate Obsession) they've got to be great! My Sisters and I were staying in Wilson for 2 nights and wanted to visit the winery after reading the great reviews. After emailing the winery to get information after I found out the winery did not have their summer ours yet and were closed those 2 days. The owner graciously arranged a private tasting with the wine maker Joe and we were able to have tastings on a day they were closed. What GREAT customer service!!!! Joe gave us a wonderful experience and I returned on Friday for an extra bottle and was greeted again by a wonderful staff member. Great wines, superior chocolate and I can guarantee we will be back in the summer to see the rose garden, sample and buy more wine. Thank you for such great service. Three sisters. What a lovely experience. We took some out-of-town friends here for a wine tasting. Three of us did the traditional 6 tastes for $6. One did the 4 glass chocolate pairing. Could not go wrong either way. We walked away with several bottles of wine and a box of gourmet chocolates. The service was perfect even though several small groups arrived at the same time. I returned to Victorianbourg Winery for the first time in a long time to try their new additions to the Victoria Cellars collection of picnic wines. Calica is an unusual semi-sweet red wine with notes of cherry and spice. It's unusual, and I think I like it, but I see it as more of a fall wine. They recommend using it in place of sangria, but I'd probably use it to make sangria. Tropi is magical, and perfect for summer. It has pineapple and mango notes. I'm not the biggest fan of pineapple, but they add just the right amount of sweetness to balance the tartness of pineapple. It's a perfect summer wine, and I picked up a bottle. Looking forward to pairing it with BBQ ribs or grilled pork chops. There's two other wines in the Victoria Cellars collection. Pechette is a popular wine with fans of peach, but I'm partial to Toriamour, which has raspberry notes. I tried their new semi-sweet Reisling, Fleur de Vin. It's somehow floral yet fruity, and has just the right amount of acidity. I picked up a bottle of that, as well. They also have a new desert wine. I forgot the name, but they compare it to sherry. It tastes like butterscotch. Very rich and yummy. If you want something really decadent and unique, there is also their chocolate fantasies line. Chocolate Ecstasy is reminiscent of dark chocolate filled with raspberry liquor. Chocolate Obsession is a soft red wine that tastes like chocolate covered strawberries. Chocolate Flirtation is a white wine kissed by white chocolate. Service has always been exceptional. A must-visit on the trail. read more

Not the most inviting atmosphere we've ever been to. There were a lot of busses and it was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon right before closing time. It was not a bills Sunday so I assume that caused the rush of people. Their wines were okay, but really just okay nothing spectacular. Their gardens were okay but not well kept. Kids are welcome but they do leave messes that were not cleaned up by staff. read more

Lovely place - very nice ambiance, especially outside amid all the flowers and trees and patio sets. You are able to sit outside and they will bring the wines for your tastings to you. Nice selection with some different flavors. We like how they number the samples which then correspond to the wine descriptions on the paper you fill out for your selections - make it much easier to remember which ones you like. We like a variety of their wines and it's always a very enjoyable time there. Chocolate tastings/pairings are available, too, which is a bit different for a winery. read more

Stopped in with my bachelorette party and had a great experience! I called a week before to let them know when we'd arrive and they were very friendly to work with! When we arrived with our group of 14 people, we had no problems getting our tastings right away. It was $5 for 6 tastings. Big tasting menu with a variety of wines, including 3 chocolate wines! We actually didn't stay to try the wines as we were very underwhelmed with the service and the building itself. It had tarps up inside the tasting room area and looked like it was still undergoing construction. If that's the case, they should just close temporarily or try to make it a bit nicer. There was only one other party there at a table, and the girl giving them the tasting said to wait a few minutes, then 10 minutes later, still hadn't come over. After she finally brought us the tasting options, we looked through them and they were all incredibly fruity that we decided it wasn't for us (we're dry red drinkers). We felt bad that we left but also felt like she should have done a better job splitting her time between the TWO parties (it's not like it was crazy busy). I will say the names of the wines were unique and entertaining (for example, Chocolate Flirtation and Chocolate Ecstasy). Maybe we'll go back when the constructions done? read more

Stopped at this winery on a wine tour today. I had never heard of the place or their wines previously. It was very small and the ceiling had exposed beams, almost looking as if they had just opened or was under construction. I purchased a tasting, I believe it was pretty reasonable, about $6 for five tastings (sorry- the wineries start to run together a bit!) My favorite was the Calico which was a semi sweet red wine that said it was great with pizza in the description. I am more of a white wine person but really liked this one, and thought you could drink it with almost anything. I bought a bottle for $13-14 which was reasonable. Their tasting room could use some work but the wines are good. One of the wines was served warm, which I never had before. Different but good. read more

This was our fifth winery on our first the first day of wine and cheese. This place has a lot of potential and the winery has a lit to offer. The person taking care of us was good but didn't go into much detail to explain the wine. It could be that it was at the end of the day and they just finished with a limo bus. What a beautiful little escape. The atmosphere is so serene, quiet and filled with flowers. We sat in the gazebo and spent a lot of time on our tasting, just enjoying the day. There is a wide selection of dry to sweet wines, which is not always the case in upstate New York (people love their sweet wines here! And these were very good.) The option to pair wine with chocolates is always fun. The owners are so sweet. They wrote a birthday message on the chalkboard as a surprise for my friend. If you like dry reds I would especially recommend the Regent grapes. The Muscay is a good sweet option - it is unique because it is not syrupy sweet but very flavorful. We have been to Victorianbourg winery several times over the past few years. I have to say that it is STILL one of our favorite wineries in New York! The tasting room is industrial - corrugated metal, lofty ceilings, garage-type doors, and a concrete floor - but it makes me feel closer to the wine. The stark interior is balanced by the warmth and friendliness of the staff here. It may seem a bit cliche' but the employees here feel like family. We knew before we arrived that we were bringing home several bottles of Pechette... my personal favorite. Pechette is a lightly carbonated peach white wine. It has an intoxicating flowery aroma that tickles your nose when served in a champagne flute. The scent of blossoms gives way to the taste of fresh peaches. The flavor is not like peach Schnapps, it is dry, and true, and I love it. Our hostess led us through tastings that were personally tailored to each of us. My husband LOVED the Chocolate Obsession - a Strawberry/Chocolate wine. We also sampled Chocolate Ecstasy (a red blend with chocolate), Chambourcin, Chardonnay, and a few others. We bought tasting glasses for our collection and a half-case of wine. Years ago I called Dan, the owner of Victorianbourg, to request that a few bottles of Pechette be mailed to our home in Ohio. At the time internet wine-shipping was in its infancy (Victorianbourg did not have an "official" protocal to order wine through the website). Dan was SO amazing! He and his staff made it happen... we had our wine within a week of ordering! We also received a personal note from the Hogue family expressing their thanks for our order. We were able to meet Dan during our last visit and personally thank him for his excellent service. I am happy to report that we can now order Victorianbourg wines via the internet whenever the fancy strikes us!! read more

Of all the wineries I visited on the Niagara Wine Trail, this winery had the best tasting wines. The tasting room looked like a work in progress. The rack of second hand clothes for sale ($1 each) was a bit odd. There was also some random objects situated throughout the room. When I arrived, the tasting room was pretty packed. Still, a staffer approached us promptly and sold us tastings. Here, you pay first and they give you poker chips for each tasting. The chips were a little weird, but I ran with it. The place shined when the wines started to pour. Not going to lie, after seeing the rack of clothes and the poker chips, I did not have high hopes for the wines. However, they were very tasty. My favorites were the cabernet franc and the gewürztraminer. I bought a bottle of each. The prices were really affordable too. I will definitely return. read more

Sometimes it's just fun to go for a fall drive to look at the leaves and get out of the city (okay.... suburbs for me, but still....) and not really have any set destination in mind. And, it's even better when you stumble upon a winery and spur-of-the-moment decide to pop in for a tasting. My only word of advice would be to possibly avoid tasting on themed weekend events. I don't know about you.... but I kind of think that wine tasting is not the same thing as a loud, drunken happy hour. This place is small and unassuming, and according to the owners (who are also the grape growers and wine makers and shop keepers) their wines are all estate grown. Nice! I sampled a couple of whites and a couple of reds and found the Gewürztraminer to be the best of the bunch. Perfectly balanced, and at under $15 a bottle, a great value as well. read more

Victorianbourg is nestled on an unassuming plot of land near the lake. It's always one of my favorite stops on wine tours (at least, on wine tours for which I remember all of the stops). Their wine is full and flavorful, with complex palettes that are often lacking in other local wineries. Even though I'm more of a "reds" girl these days, their Gewürztraminer is fantastic. All of their grapes are grown on the property and capture the fluctuating warmth and coolness for which the region is known. Plus, their wines are a bargain at approximately $10 - $15 per bottle. I always pick up a few when I'm in the area. The tasting room is cute, but small. Large groups tend to overwhelm it quickly. This is a better stop for small groups than for buses and crowds. read more

The wine alright (nothing special) but I'd rather buy it in a store than go here in person. The place smells weird because it's heated in an old timey way. The last time I was here, there were 25351 flies all over the place, including in my wine glass. The outside area is cute and reminds me of some places I've been to in Napa but overall, I'd pass on this winery. read more
