steak and macaroni

Celebrated my birthday with a trip to Bella's Steakhouse and loved the entire experience. It was a VERY busy Friday night with a bunch of groups in addition to individual tables. The wait staff was attentive and friendly in spite of this. When our waitress was delayed by attending to other diners she made sure to speak to us as she passed the table, assuring us she's be right back. I had the Delmonico and it was huge, flavorful and cooked exactly as a medium rare steak should be. My daughter had the smallest prime rib cut they offer and it was almost the same size as the serving platter. Huge and cooked to perfection. It's such a treat to see the salad bar back, like the old Emile's offered. The sides are unique and delicious. The baked potato side is enough for a whole meal in itself. They offer a side dish of pepper jack corn bread casserole - it is delicious! What really impressed me was their kids options, which includes a FREE meal. And while they were the basic things expected on a kids menu (pizza, macaroni, chicken strips, etc - all include a side and drink) the one my granddaughter ordered was generous and served well. I'm kind of mystified by the poor reviews for service. Everyone surrounding us appeared to be having a great time. The owner comes around and visits with the tables and celebrates the special occasions with the diners. I'll be back over and over again!

Mac and cheese side and ribeye. Amazing.

Another amazing night at Bella's Steakhouse. Stuffed is all I can say. Hats off to cook and staff.

Prime rib.

The food was great, the service was even better. Prices are high, but mostly worth it. We'll definitely be back.

I was low key having a rough time after working so late but this incredible meal turned things around: the strawberry salad was so fresh and well-balanced and I simply couldn't NOT order something from their meat case in the front, which offers local cuts. I got the tenderloin medium rare with broccolini and mashed potatoes. They did something TRULY special here. Goat cheeseinthemash. Or something. Like a blue cheese that was a goat cheese? Idk but it was truly genius. I haven't stopped thinking about it. My waitress was also tending the bar and did an amazing job, I felt so well looked after and the bar patrons stayed entertained. I only saw her visiting the various tables so props for handling that many people solo! I kinda can't wait to come back up here for work if it means I get to visit this place when I mentioned I planned to go to sackett's table for dinner, my customer immediately knew I was in for a great time. Portico - Del Lago Resort & Casino (and that star is…read morefeeling generous) New Year's Eve. Bad weather. Half-empty dining room. Somehow... still disappointing. Service was fine and friendly. Thus the one star. I ordered beef carpaccio, expecting delicate raw beef. What arrived instead looked like a lonely slice of cold roast beef you'd find sweating under plastic wrap at a deli counter. Not raw. Not delicate. Just confused. The side dishes were served at outdoor temperature, which was impressive considering we were inside. The potatoes and broccoli were so cold they may have skipped the kitchen entirely and come straight from the parking lot. Then there was the steak. Ordered black and blue. What I received was neither black nor blue, but a sad shade of gray, with absolutely zero char. It looked like it had been politely warmed by someone thinking about a grill from afar. And here's the real kicker: Fabio Viviani's name is on this restaurant. If this is what's being served under his banner, someone should check on him to make sure he doesn't have dementia --because this meal looked like it would personally offend him. I can say with confidence: Fabio would not be proud. He might not even admit knowing this place. For a casino restaurant on New Year's Eve--when expectations are already modest--this was still a miss. The room was half empty, the weather was terrible, and somehow the food managed to match the weather perfectly. If you're looking for chilly sides, deli meat carpaccio, and a steak that fears a grill, Portico might be your lucky bet. Otherwise, I'd recommend rolling the dice literally anywhere else.

We shared the grilled octopus and the charcuterie board. The octopus was delicious! The charcuterie was a nice mix of items, except the cheese. They were out of one type and we had a LOT of blocks of a very salty cheddar. We had to leave most of it but the pieces we ate were good with the crackers & fig jam. We asked for a second drink in a plastic cup to take with us on to the floor and we were accommodated. We would definitely stop back!

The place was busy and when a table is available, you seat yourself. Service was very friendly and attentive. Reason for 4th star. Worth stopping when in the area and will return, next trip to the outlets. Just no lemonade or turkey dinner! Private parking, large lot. Milk shakes oh my. Unique menu, with interesting toppings. Vanilla milk shake was excellent. Stay away from their lemonade. Very disappointed. Pepsi machine and tasted poorly. TURKEY DINNER WAS JUST OK. SIDE Salad came with the dinner. Very fresh. Every time I lament the fact I spent money to eat there... I had read that this was a good one on the 'Where Syracuse Eats' Facebook page, which can be a pit of snakes at times. I decided to bookmark it, as a 'just in case' I was ever passing through Waterloo. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my mom and I walked in around 5:30-5:45 p.m. and not a soul was in the place. Apparently, people in Waterloo eat dinner around 6 p.m. so the place was popping as we were eating and then leaving. My mom is a vegetarian so we shared the vegetarian combo D plate. I ate the tostaguac and she had the enchilada, and we shared the rice. I normally find the rice at Mexican restaurants to be underwhelming, even at my favorite spot in Detroit. This was delicious and I ate it! (There may have been some debate on who should get the last few bites of rice!) I also ordered a side of their hot salsa. I think this was $2 but it was so good and so worth it. The regular salsa was fine but not spicy at all. Service was fast once we decided what to order. No pictures because I was too excited by an actual Mexican place within a reasonable distance from me! Skip the places in Syracuse and come to La Fiesta Brava!

There was a small sign saying too go to the bar to order food off menu, but we were fine sitting at the Bar. It was a Monday evening. Staff/Owners were friendly and attentive. Customers where friendly. We see that Alot here in your small village of Waterloo NY. We were told they smoke there own meet for pulled pork sandwich's. Make there own Homemade mac and cheese. I did not try them yet but they make there own empandas!! Everything sounded so good. I choose a philly steak sandwich. It came loaded with meat, cheese. Onions and peppers! Hot and Savoy. Bread roll was very fresh. Meat was juicy and tender. I loved it. I choose Mac and cheese for and up charge over french fries that came with the sandwich. It was not a disappointment. Hubby choose pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and coleslaw. He raved to them on how good it was! They have a drink that is marketed with an elevating ingredients. Pre packaged cans.
