I absolutely love this salon, the atmosphere and every single stylist, manager and receptionist there! They are all so friendly, warm and inviting!! My personal stylist is Kamryn, she is amazing, I can't get over the miracle she pulled off w/ my hair. I have dark black brown hair, I've tried for yrs to get it to blonde of course as most places would say you would need a few sessions to get it to what I wanted. Kamryn was so patient and attentive, she actually got my hair to exactly what I wanted the first time I went in. They were even closing and she was supposed to be getting off but stayed to make sure my hair got to the color I wanted and did my cut too! Now that is dedication and extremely highly rated customer service. Now yes it did take about 2.5 to 3.5 hrs, which was understandable in my opinion, and I knew it would take a while. She could have very well been like 'ok this is as far as I can take it today, so you'll have to come back' (which i was worried about but prepared for that happening, if it had to), but she didn't do that! No she took the extra time and care to do her best (which was phenomenal) to make sure I got what I was hoping for and left happy and I sure did! That was when I decided I wouldn't go anywhere else ever lol! Anywho, I noticed there weren't a whole lot of reviews from '26 so I wanted to put this out there since I really believe in this salon and the people that work there. I am extremely appreciative of this salon and of course my stylist, who I simply adore, and highly recommend, lovely to visit with and really seems to care about her clients, such a sweetheart. I am actually going to schedule an appointment with her in the next couple wks so I will update my review w/ new pics at that time. I should mention I am extremely picky about getting my hair done, simply becuz in the past 99% of the time my hair never turned out how I wanted, hoped or asked for. In fact there has only been ONE time in about a 30 yr span where I loved my hair cut, and was decently happy with my hair color. UNTIL I happened upon the woodlands hair elite, which they really are Elite. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the owner, but she sounds like a wonderful lady. I truly appreciate her staff and the salon as a whole and everything they offer and what she's built. I personally feel, and probably becuz I have been extremely satisfied, that the price points are right on with most other salons, and I don't mind paying for great work. The products they sell are spot on with anywhere else you could get them, at least what I've noticed. They are very up front with the cancelation policies and if you do not cancel in the alloted time that you will be charged, which I think is fair, especially for what you may be asking for, like in my case it's never just something simple so they have to block off that time and potentially lose out on a job for that day if you cancel without the right amount of time, so to me that's fair and makes sense. They are clear with that when booking the appt. They also check with you multiple times for your appt giving you ample time to confirm or cancel properly. I'm sure that if it was an actual emergency and you could maybe prove that it was, I'm sure they would work with you if you are calm, kind and understanding that they are doing their job and they are losing out on potential income for that period if you don't show up or don't cancel in the time frame. But thats just me, I love them and the place to much so I personally wouldn't mind the fee if I didn't cancel properly, or show up. Anywho, bottom line is they are all awesome, the salon is beautiful, a ton of services (one day I'm going to get extensions done with the lady that does them, she is also so sweet and fun!), wide variety of free beverages and snacks, and sell great products. I am depressed and physically disabled (and was recovering from a major surgery at the time), so I had been unable to do the usual upkeep necessary for my hair with any kind of regularity. Honestly, it was a dirty, fairly matted (to the point of looking like I had a few poorly-done locs) HOT MESS. Just THINKING about doing my own hair, and how bad it had got, had me in tears for two months. I thought she'd have to cut a lot of it off tbh. She didn't turn me away, like I half-expected. It was well-within her right to see the rat's nest on my head and just refuse service or rebook me, but she didn't. That grace is something I still appreciate to this day (I saw her pre-pandemic, so this was some time ago). Ms. Marchel did it BY HERSELF, MUCH FASTER (an hour and a half MAX for detangling, shampooing, conditioning, detangling again, drying, another quick detangle, and the silk press itself), didn't charge me extra for the texture of the hair that naturally grows out of my scalp (as so many salons around here do... iykyk ), didn't complain at all or guilt me, was professional, and did a damn good job! I was ASTONISHED by her speediness, how thorough she was, and the result!! My curls also bounced right back after wash-day! No heat damage! My sew-in experience was tragic to put it lightly. The appointment started off well. I brought in 2 bundles of hair. The stylist said she would color it to match my hair color. She colored 1 bundle of the hair. During my appointment, one of her friends/clients came in to discuss a style she was planning to get the following week. Although this salon is marketed as a private setting, this client/friend was allowed to sit and talk during the duration of my appointment. As she was sewing the tracks, she would continue to look at her phone. I'm not sure if she was looking at directions on how to do a sew in or what. When my hair was done, I informed her that I'd like it cut to resemble my natural hair length. Once I left the salon, I saw where tracks were visible at the top (she had to see this before I left), so I went back and she attempted to fix it. Once I got home, not only could I still see tracks at the top, but thread was popping out in the back and a track that was not sewn down was also sticking out. I sent her a picture and she told me to either cut it or Bobby pin it until the next time I return to the salon. The next day (Sunday), I had to get the sew in taken out by someone else because it was falling apart. It was the worst $200 job ever. She did not even cut the tracks to fit naturally. She simply rolled them on top of each other, which made it extremely bulky and impossible to lay flat. I sent her a text that Monday informing her that I had to get the sew-in removed. She never replied. A simple acknowledgement or sorry would have sufficed. For that reason, I realized this is not the stylist for me. While I was getting my cut I mentioned that I had recently got highlights at another salon that were pretty underwhelming and I was curious to know if she could give me what I wanted. So I booked a Saturday for my color and Brittney hooked me up!!! She patiently worked to correct the previous color and gave me exactly what I wanted. And I love love love the results! If you have curly or wavy hair and live in the Cypress, Tomball, or Katy areas, you have to go see Brittney! She's easy to talk to and very knowledgeable about products and how to style your hair after you leave the salon.
